Chapter 6 - Episode 6

Project Nexus: Beyond Reality

Episode 6 – Strategy and Team Roles

A Moment of Rest

The sun had begun to set, casting a warm orange glow over the treetops. The forest, which had once been filled with the sounds of battle, was now eerily peaceful. The team sat around a small clearing, resting after their intense battle with the hyenas.

Renji leaned against a tree, his sword resting across his lap. Kai sprawled on the grass, arms folded behind his head, while Airi sat cross-legged, casually sharpening her arrows. Leon and Eve were nearby, whispering about something while occasionally smirking at each other.

"Man, I didn't expect this game to be this intense," Kai sighed. "It's like every battle actually matters."

"That's what makes it fun," Airi said, inspecting the sharpness of her arrow tip. "It's not just about swinging your weapon randomly—you have to think."

Leon chuckled. "Tell that to Kai, who just runs in swinging."

"Hey! It works, doesn't it?" Kai protested.

Eve smirked. "Sure, until you get bitten five times in a row."

Kai groaned. "I swear, I'll upgrade my defense later."

Renji listened to their banter with a small smile, but in the back of his mind, he was analyzing their combat styles.

Understanding Their Strengths

After fighting together for a while, Renji realized something:

Each member had a distinct combat style, and if they played to their strengths, they could become an unstoppable team.

Renji had the highest speed and sustained damage output, making him the Main DPS of the team. His quick movements allowed him to dodge attacks, and his consistent damage meant he could take on enemies head-on.

Kai was a powerhouse with devastating one-hit attacks, but his swings were slow and predictable. This meant he needed setups to land his attacks effectively.

Airi was a long-range sniper, dealing high critical damage from a distance. Her role was to eliminate threats from afar before they reached the frontline.

Eve and Leon had great mobility. Eve was stealthy and deceptive, while Leon had sharp precision and resilience. Together, they could act as stunners and finishers, disrupting enemy movements and taking out weakened foes.

Renji knew they could fight more efficiently if they had a proper formation.

He stood up. "Alright, guys. I've been thinking about our roles in battle."

Everyone turned to him, curious.

A New Battle Formation

Renji drew a quick diagram in the dirt using a stick. "From what I've observed, we all have different strengths. If we coordinate properly, we can take down enemies way faster."

Kai grinned. "Sounds interesting. What's the plan?"

Renji pointed at the frontline position. "I'll be the main attacker. Since I'm fast and can deal consistent damage, I'll engage enemies head-on."

Then, he drew two side positions. "Leon and Eve, you guys are stunners. Your precise strikes can temporarily disrupt enemy movements. In battle, you'll go first in certain situations, stunning key targets."

Eve smirked. "I like the sound of that."

Leon nodded. "Makes sense. If we disable the enemy, it makes things easier for the rest of you."

Renji tapped a backline position. "Kai, your attacks hit hard, but they're slow. That means you shouldn't go in first. Instead, you'll wait until Leon or Eve stun an enemy, then land a finishing blow."

Kai blinked, then grinned. "So I get to smash them after they're stunned? I like it."

Renji finally pointed at Airi's role. "Airi, you're our fire support. Since your sniping skills and precision are top-tier, you'll eliminate threats from afar and cover us while we fight."

Airi smirked. "Sniping from a safe distance? Perfect."

Renji looked around at his team. "If we follow this formation, we'll fight way more efficiently. No more running in blindly—we work as a unit."

There was a moment of silence before Kai clapped his hands. "Alright! Let's test this out in our next fight."

Leon smirked. "Agreed. If we master this strategy, we'll dominate every battle."

Eve grinned. "And maybe we'll even surprise some high-level players."

Airi adjusted her bow. "Let's make this work."

Renji nodded, feeling a new sense of confidence.

With a proper strategy in place, they weren't just random players anymore.

They were becoming a real team.

And soon, the world of Project Nexus would recognize them as one.
