Forced to live as a servant in the Rothschild mansion, Vivianne's fortunes take an even darker turn when her powerful stepbrother, the current Count, arranges for her to marry the tyrannical emperor, Dietrich Erengrad. However, Dietrich rejects Vivianne as his mate due to her unique pheromones, which continue to attract other alpha werewolves even after he marks her. Tossed aside without protection, Vivianne becomes trapped in a nightmare, unable to control her own heats as she is mocked, used, and treated as a mere lust object by the lustful alpha wolves of the imperial palace. After enduring three years of this living hell, Vivianne sees no other choice but to take her own life. In her final act, she curses those who have abused her, praying that if she is ever given another chance at life, her tormentors will experience an even worse fate. Chapter 1 - Chapter 0. Introduction

The musty scent of old parchment and candle wax hung thick in the air of the dimly lit study. Shadows danced along the walls as the flickering flame of a solitary candle cast an eerie glow upon the room.

Vivianne stood before a large oak desk, her fingers trembling as they gripped the edges, her heart pounding in her chest. Three months. That was all the time she had been granted—a precious second chance to undo the horrors that awaited her in the future.

She closed her eyes, the phantom pains of her past life still searing through her body. The jeers of the alpha wolves echoed in her mind, their laughter a sinister reminder of her position.

Their disdain, the cruel mockery that had been her constant companion for years, was almost palpable to her. Each violation, each moment of humiliation, rushed back in vivid detail, overwhelming her senses.

A shudder ran down her spine, and she gasped as the memories washed over her like a tidal wave. Never again, she vowed. This time, she would not be a helpless pawn in their game of power and lust.

Vivianne opened her eyes, her resolve hardening. The Rothschild family crest glared back at her from the papers strewn across the desk—a cruel reminder of the gilded cage that had become her prison.

The intricate design of a lion rampant, symbolizing strength and nobility, mocked her. She had been born into this world of privilege, yet it had turned against her, stripping her of her dignity and worth. But not this time. This time, she would find a way to escape, to forge her own path, no matter the cost.

The jeers of her stepfamily still rang in Vivianne's ears, their cruel laughter tormenting her even now. She could vividly recall the way they had callously stripped her of her rightful inheritance, squandering the vast Rothschild fortune within a year. The very thought of their heartless actions made her blood boil with unforgivable rage.

Vivianne clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as the memory replayed in her mind. The way they had mocked her, reveled in her misery—it was a wound that refused to heal. She had been powerless to stop them, forced to watch as they destroyed her family's legacy.

But now, with this precious second chance, Vivianne was determined to make them pay. They would not escape the consequences of their greed and malice. She would find a way to reclaim what was rightfully hers, to restore the Rothschild name, and crush those who had dared to trample on her family.

The soft patter of footsteps outside the study drew her attention, and she quickly schooled her features, smoothing out any trace of the turmoil raging within. She would need to exercise caution and assume the role of a dutiful, obedient daughter and sister until the appropriate moment.

The last thing she needed was to draw suspicion upon herself. In her previous life, she had learned that trust was a dangerous game, one that destroyed her and her father's legacy. Because she was weak and such a pushover.

Vivianne braced herself as the door creaked open, prepared to confront the initial challenge of her second opportunity. It was her stepbrother, the current Count Rotschild, his figure silhouetted against the dim light of the hallway.

He entered with a confidence, "Vivianne," he said, his voice smooth, with an underlying edge that sent a chill down her spine. "I've a marriage offer for you and our little sister."

In the past, while the Emperor has a soft spot for her rather than her stepsister, simply because she's far more beautiful than Liselotte. It was easy to choose the Emperor; however, this time she's not going to choose the one who made her live a living hell before.

"The Emperor and the Grand Duke Borgia have been asking for our house daughters for their mate." Valdemar smirks, as a beta, his insecurities making him try to get the best marriage offers from his two sisters so that he can thrive with the in-law support and influence.

She nodded, suppressing the instinctual tremor in her hands. "Let me marry Grand Duke Borgia."

"Hah! You choose the monster of the north! What a fitting choice for you as an illegitimate child!" Valdemar laughs and is happy with her choice, "Make sure you don't change your mind later!"

"I will not," she replied, forcing the words through clenched teeth. She was determined to feign compliance until she could find a way to escape her fate. "I won't disappoint you."

"See that you don't," he warned, his voice low and dangerous. "You may be an illegitimate daughter, but you carry the Rothschild name. Do not forget that."

As he turned to leave, Vivianne felt a surge of anger boiling within her, a fire ignited by the injustice of her situation. The weight of her past pressed down on her, but she refused to let it crush her spirit. She had been given a second chance, a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. This time, she would not let herself be broken.

As her stepbrother's footsteps faded into the distance, Vivianne took a deep breath, grounding herself in the present. The time for action was drawing near. The gods had answered her prayer, and she would seize this opportunity with both hands. No longer would she be a victim; she would be the architect of her own destiny.

The flickering candlelight dimmed in the thickening shadows, but within Vivianne, a fierce light began to grow—a flame of defiance and determination. She would escape this cruel destiny, no matter the cost.
