Chapter 40 - A Clash of Legends – Madara vs. Tobirama!

Uchiha Madara's expression twisted in frustration as his defense was shattered in an instant. His powerful aura flared uncontrollably, but before he could react further, a voice he had loathed for decades rang out loud and clear.

"Zhao!!!!!!!"

Senju Tobirama stood with an air of confidence, arms folded across his chest, his sharp eyes narrowing in visible disdain. "Uchiha Madara… Even after all these years, hearing my words must bring back bad memories, huh?" His lips curled into a smirk. "Evil Uchiha."

Madara's eye twitched. This damn Senju…! Even in death, he couldn't stop running his mouth!

"Who do you think you are?!" Madara roared, his chakra surging like an unrelenting tide. "How did I summon you?! Do you even understand your situation, you Senju bastard?!" His fingers tightened around the hilt of his war fan. "Do you believe I won't cut you down where you stand?!"

Tobirama merely scoffed, showing no signs of backing down. "Heh! Evil Uchiha!" His tone was taunting, as if he had been waiting centuries to say those words again.

Madara's patience finally snapped. "Damn it, Tobirama!! You keep calling me 'evil'—do you think I'll just take that lying down?! You've always looked down on my clan!" His eyes burned with fury. "If it weren't for your brother always stepping in, I would've killed you long ago!"

At that moment, he turned his head sharply toward Shouta Kazuki, who had been standing at a safe distance, watching the unfolding confrontation with a mixture of awe and nervousness.

"Brat! Get lost!" Madara growled. "I don't want to accidentally crush you in the middle of this!"

Shouta took a step back instinctively, feeling the weight of Madara's overwhelming chakra pressure. Even though he had summoned Tobirama, he wasn't entirely sure how this battle would turn out.

His mind raced. Tobirama wasn't as strong as Hashirama, but he was still a terrifying opponent. This was the man who had invented countless forbidden jutsu—so many, in fact, that Konoha's entire shinobi system was built on his foundation. His Water Release techniques were powerful enough that some shinobi referred to them as "Sea Release."

And most importantly…

He had spent 100 million wealth points to summon him.

If Madara actually ended up killing Tobirama, wouldn't that be a huge waste?!

Shouta quickly shouted, "Madara! Be careful! Don't kill him!"

Madara shot him a glare. "I got it, damn brat! Quit nagging me!"

Even though Madara looked furious, he wasn't completely out of control. He wasn't stupid—Shouta had spent a fortune to bring Tobirama here, so if he killed him outright, it would be a waste. But even knowing that, he had no intention of going easy on the Second Hokage.

Still uneasy, Shouta quickly asked the system, "System! If a summoned undead dies, do they disappear forever? Or do they return to some kind of summoning space?"

The system's calm voice responded:

[Host, do not worry! Since the beings you summoned are undead, they fall under your jurisdiction. If one of them dies in battle, they will not return to the afterlife. Instead, they will transform into 'Soul Fire' and return to your summoning space. The host can then revive them by spending half the original summoning cost.]

Hearing this, Shouta finally exhaled in relief. If Madara or Tobirama died, they wouldn't be permanently gone. Their souls would simply exist in his spiritual space until he spent 50 million wealth points to bring them back.

But still… 50 million was not a small amount.

Shouta grimaced. Hopefully, Madara wouldn't go too far. Otherwise, he'd have no choice but to waste another fortune reviving Tobirama.

Meanwhile, the tension between Madara and Tobirama had reached its peak. Their respective chakras were colliding, causing the very air to tremble.

Tobirama, despite his outward confidence, was growing uneasy. His elder brother Hashirama was not here to back him up, and deep down, he knew—Madara was a monster.

But he had already provoked him. There was no turning back now.

"Hmph!" Tobirama scoffed, trying to maintain his composure. "Madara, no matter what evil scheme you're plotting, I will stop you!"

Hearing this, Madara let out a cold chuckle. His voice was laced with sarcasm. "You, stop me? Do you really believe that, Tobirama?!" His expression darkened. "You're the one who killed my brother, Izuna. Did you really think I'd ever let that go?"

Madara's eyes suddenly shifted.

It wasn't the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

Instead, his pupils turned ghostly white, with concentric rings expanding outward—

The Rinnegan!

The sheer pressure of his chakra intensified instantly.

Shouta's eyes widened. "He's using the Rinnegan!"

Tobirama, who had been mocking Madara only moments ago, felt a cold sweat trickle down his back.

"What… is this pressure?!"

Even when facing Hashirama in the past, he had never felt something this oppressive.

And what was with those eyes?!

"This… isn't the Mangekyō Sharingan…" Tobirama muttered, his heartbeat quickening. "I've never seen this dojutsu before…"

The aura Madara was emitting was even more terrifying than Hashirama's.

Tobirama gritted his teeth. He couldn't afford to hesitate.

"Flying Thunder God Technique!"

In an instant, Tobirama vanished.

His teleportation was lightning-fast, his signature technique allowing him to move unpredictably. But there was one problem—he needed a marked object to teleport to. Without his Flying Thunder God Kunai, he could only use whatever was nearby.

He quickly grabbed a few small stones, marking them with his Hiraishin formula and scattering them across the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Madara slowly rose into the air, effortlessly floating above the ground. His Rinnegan gleamed as he coldly observed Tobirama's movement.

"Tch…" Madara sneered. "Jumping around like a little flea… Do you really think you can escape me?"

With a flick of his wrist, an invisible force erupted from his body.

Tobirama's eyes widened.

"Shinra Tensei?!"

A massive repulsive force slammed into him, sending him crashing through several trees. The sheer impact left a deep crater in the ground where he had landed.

Shouta clenched his fists as he watched. This was a completely one-sided fight.

Tobirama had no idea how to deal with the Rinnegan. He had never fought against these abilities before.

Still, the Second Hokage was a battle-hardened warrior. He gritted his teeth, pulled himself out of the wreckage, and prepared for round two.

But Madara only smirked. "What's wrong, Tobirama? You were so eager to stop me earlier. Don't tell me that's all you've got?"

Tobirama spat out a mouthful of blood, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Hmph… Don't get cocky just yet, Madara." His fingers formed a quick series of seals. "Water Release—Great Waterfall Technique!"

A torrent of water erupted from nowhere, forming a massive tidal wave aimed directly at Madara.

The battle was far from over.
