Chapter 160 - The Weight of the Future

"Her name is Uchiha Cuihua."

A stunned pause followed. Then—

"You... you just... what did you just say?!" Young Sasuke's eye twitched violently as he stared at his older self in disbelief. "What is the name of my future child?!!"

The adult Sasuke was unbothered, simply shrugging. "Uchiha Cuihua."

Young Sasuke's reaction was instant. "Damn it!!! Damn it! Why did you give your child such a weird name?! Cuihua or something?! You think it sounds good?!" He clenched his fists, glaring at his future self as if he had committed an unforgivable crime.

The older Sasuke exhaled tiredly. "That wasn't my choice. Souta named her."

At those words, both young Sasuke and Naruto turned their heads in perfect synchronization, their eyes locking onto Souta Kazuki, who stood nearby, arms folded in satisfaction.

"Souta, you bastard!!!" Naruto shouted.

"That's right, you bastard!!!" Sasuke echoed.

At that moment, Uzumaki Goudan—Naruto's son from the future—hesitantly stepped forward. "Godfather, um… can we discuss something? When you name me in the future, can you not call me Goudan?! I mean, my sister's name is Uzumaki Himawari. My idiot father originally wanted to name me Boruto, and honestly, I think that sounds much better than… Goudan."

Souta shook his head, his expression unwavering. "You don't understand. Goudan is a powerful name! Haven't you heard? A bad name makes a living! And besides, the name Boruto just doesn't feel right to me. So, from now on, you'll be called Uzumaki Goudan."

Naruto slammed his hand on the table. "Souta!!! Goudan sounds way too weird. I think Boruto is much better! Even if it's not Boruto, it should be something else, right?!"

Souta remained firm. "No way. I'm the godfather."

"Damn it, Souta Kazuki!!!" Naruto growled.

The young Sasuke also slammed the table, his eyes twitching in frustration. "Souta! Idiot Naruto's son having a weird name is one thing, but why did my daughter end up with such a strange name too?! Uchiha Cuihua?! That doesn't sound good at all!"

"Hmph!" Souta scoffed. "I told you already—I'm the godfather."

The rest of the group, who had been watching silently, struggled to contain their laughter. Kiba, Shikamaru, and even Hinata had to cover their mouths.

A dog egg and a green flower.

The names Uzumaki Goudan and Uchiha Cuihua were a perfect match…

Shikamaru muttered under his breath, "I can already see it. Our kids are doomed…"

As if reading their thoughts, the older Sasuke smirked. "You all think this is funny?" His gaze swept across the room, filled with an ominous amusement. "A friendly reminder—your future children recognize Souta as their godfather too. He named them as well. Do you want me to tell you what their names are?"

A heavy silence fell over the room.

"…No need!!!"

"Hahahahaha… I've decided! I'm never getting married in this life!"

"Even if I do, I won't have kids!"

For a moment, everyone was lost in their own despair, their minds plagued with horrifying images of what their future children might be called.

Then, Senju Hashirama scratched his head. "Actually, I think the names Goudan and Cuihua sound pretty nice! Back in the day, I was planning to name little Tsunade 'Gangdan,' but since she was a girl, I had to settle for 'Tsunade' instead."

Tsunade, who had been drinking tea at the side, suddenly choked. She turned to stare at Hashirama, horrified.

Her name could've been Gangdan?!

Jiraiya, who had been holding back his laughter, finally let loose. "Pfft!!! Hahahahaha… Gangdan?! Tsunade, I never knew you had such a badass name in the making!"

Bang!

Tsunade slammed her fist into the table, cracking it. "Damn you, Jiraiya!!! Shut your mouth or I'll kill you!!!"

The entire conference room erupted into chaos.

Amidst the commotion, Uchiha Madara sat silently, observing everything with a frown. Something about this didn't sit right with him. He had always believed that Konoha's new generation was too soft, too reckless. But now, seeing the future generations interacting like this, a strange worry settled in his chest.

Did the village truly rest in capable hands?

Before he could voice his concerns, his gaze sharpened as he looked at the adult Sasuke.

"Enough," Madara's voice cut through the noise. "We have more important matters to discuss. The Akatsuki is one thing, but the Otsutsuki clan cannot be taken lightly."

At the mention of the Otsutsuki, the entire room fell silent.

Madara continued, "Sasuke. You and Naruto's children traveled to the past, which means something significant must have happened in the future. Tell me—what did the future ninja world face? Was it truly the Otsutsuki clan?"

Sasuke's expression darkened. He nodded. "Yes. The Otsutsuki clan invaded decades later, and their strength is unimaginable. Byakugan is the lowest level of eye among them. But their Byakugan is different from what we've seen in the Hyuga clan—it possesses special abilities similar to the Mangekyō Sharingan's pupil techniques. And for the stronger members of their clan… the Rinnegan is standard."

A heavy silence followed his words.

The entire room collectively took a breath.

A race where nearly every member possessed the Rinnegan?!

A future where the ninja world went to war with such beings multiple times?!

Uchiha Madara's gaze flickered with interest. He turned back to Sasuke, his lips curling into a smirk. "So… what is your strength now? If the future ninja world has waged war against the Otsutsuki clan multiple times, then surely, you must be powerful enough to face them."

All eyes turned to the adult Sasuke.

Silence stretched as the weight of Madara's words sank in.

The future was not just a distant worry—it was a looming storm, and the present had to prepare.
