Hatake Sakumo, who had been prepared to scold his son, suddenly found himself at a loss. The moment he met Kakashi's deadpan expression, he felt a strange sense of guilt rising within him. After all, it wasn't every day that a father learned his son's reputation in the future would revolve around something as absurd as manure.
"Ah... Hahahahaha... Kakashi! It's time to clean the backyard today!" Sakumo forced a laugh, scratching the back of his head as if it would somehow dissolve the awkwardness.
Kakashi, however, felt like his soul was leaving his body. He was the infamous Copy Ninja, an elite of ANBU, a shinobi feared across nations. And yet, the future had reduced him to a title so humiliating that he wanted nothing more than to dig a hole and disappear.
The thought of enemies whispering in dread, "He's the Copy Ninja of Konoha!" had always filled Kakashi with a certain pride. But now, he imagined a different scenario—one where people gasped in horror and said, "You're the... dung boy of Konoha?!"
Kakashi's entire world seemed to darken for a moment.
At that moment, Yamanaka Ino hesitantly approached Uzumaki Goudan, her eyes filled with an unusual nervousness. "Hey, uh... Goudan, I wanted to ask... about your godfather's future wife. Who is she? Who's the mother of this... Wuwukai?"
Goudan blinked in confusion before staring at her blankly. "Oh? Aunt Ino, I thought you and my godfather were already together by now? Wait… you're telling me you two aren't even dating yet? But you're definitely Wuwukai's mom! That means, in the future, you and my godfather—"
Before he could finish, Ino let out a breath of relief. She didn't care what strange name her future son might have. What mattered was that she would end up with Souta. That alone was enough to make her heart flutter.
Meanwhile, Haruno Sakura, who had been listening nearby, suddenly stepped forward, her eyes filled with hope. "Goudan… can you tell me who your master ends up marrying?"
This time, even the young Uchiha Sasuke found himself perking up slightly in curiosity.
Goudan tilted his head. "Master's wife? Why do you ask? I thought it was obvious. I heard that even back in the academy, you were already—"
Before he could finish, Sakura let out a shriek of excitement. "What did you just call me?!"
"Master's wife, of course."
"And your master is—"
"Uchiha Sasuke!"
Sakura practically exploded with joy, while Sasuke, on the other hand, was left feeling... complicated. He had always brushed off Sakura's affections, never taking them seriously. Yet, the fact that she would eventually become his wife and even bear his child was something he never expected.
The rest of the Konoha 12, seeing these revelations unfold, felt their curiosity intensify. They wanted to know more, but before anyone could ask further, the adult Sasuke intervened, his voice sharp.
"Enough, Goudan. You shouldn't reveal too much about the future. The more we know, the more likely we are to change the course of events."
Goudan hesitated but then nodded. "Sorry, uncles and aunties! But I can tell you this much—our generation, the children of you all, will be close. We'll fight, we'll laugh, and we'll carry on your legacies!"
Hearing this, the younger shinobi felt a strange comfort. They didn't need to know the details. Just knowing that their bonds would last was enough.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Otsutsuki Urashiki lay sprawled within a massive crater, his once-proud body shattered. His breath was weak, his life slipping away, and in his final moments, he could only regret his choices.
Not far away, Might Duy and Might Guy lay on stretchers, their bodies broken but their spirits unyielding. They had given their all, unleashing the power of the eight inner gates in battle. Despite their injuries, their laughter rang through the battlefield.
"Hahahahaha! Guy! My boy! You have truly surpassed me! That… is my greatest pride!" Duy beamed despite the pain.
"Father! I have never once wavered! My youth will never fade!" Guy declared, his eyes filled with unwavering resolve.
Hatake Sakumo and Hatake Kakashi approached the two.
Duy's eyes lit up upon seeing Sakumo. "Sakumo! That was my youth! Originally, I wanted to save that move for a fight with you! But I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough! I'll definitely improve it next time!"
Sakumo swallowed hard. Good grief. I thought we were comrades, but you were planning to kill me?!
At the same time, Guy turned to Kakashi with an intense gaze. "Kakashi! My eternal rival! Do you feel it?! The burning heat of my youth?! I had originally saved that move for you! Before I die, would you join me in one last song? Who is my bride—"
Kakashi's face twisted in horror. He and his father exchanged looks of sheer disbelief.
This idiot! He wanted to fight me with that suicidal technique?!
For the first time, both Hatake men shared the exact same thought.
I think my future is in danger…
