I felt my body alive. I felt the blood coursing through my veins. It was dark, cold, and quiet. I felt around the small, long box I was in. Was I in a coffin? I punched through the top. It was still dark, but there was a bit of dim light around. I sit up and look around. I was Back In the background. My body was all healed and new. Though I still had my previous scars before I got my powers.
I don't get it, should I be dead? Why is the Omnivurse still intact? Was I even still there? Or was there nothing left but this vast infinite void? The serpent came out of the ground and circled me. "You're awake, I didn't know you would die this soon. You were dead for 7 hours."
I thought for sure I was having some kind of death dream as I was passing away. "But shouldn't I be dead. Is the Omnivurse still ok? Wait, is Callith still alive too?"
Guardian-. "Sorry, but I am afraid not. Only you may have the ability to be rebirthed. When you die, you have 7 hours for your body to be created back here. Now you are stronger. Your power has increased exponentially. You can no longer die to anything except God's blood."
So, I guess Callith was gone. Was I ever going to have a brother again, or will I just be alone? "Well, is there a way I can die, or will I have to live eternally?"
Gardain-. "I am afraid so. Thought you still have a greater purpose. You can still travel anywhere in the Omnivurse, you see. Including the Heavens and the hells. You will probably see Callith there. He was a good mortal?"
I was glad to know the Callith was finding peace out there somewhere. Perhaps he was with his wife. I want to see him so badly. But I need to find where to go. "Can I use the Cosmic Razor to get there?"
Guardian-. "Of course you can, you are the great Omniptent being. Do as you wish."
I nod and pull out the Cosmic Razor. But something hits me. I can see him another time. It can wait. Right now, I bet I have a job to do. And that was keeping the Omnivurse stabilized. There were lots of rifts to fix.
I still had many questions to ask the Guardian of the Background. "You now, now that I think about it, why does this place need a Guardian? No one has even made it here besides Ryoth, have they?"
Guardian-. "Well, Amy demon wanted to achieve this type of power. Ryoth was a fallen angel before this, but then he became a higher power. The God who blessed you back at your universe didn't give you these powers. You see, before Ryoth came to be. There was always someone who came before it all. Someone who existed as an infinite paradox, as the one who made this all come true. God only released the paradox. Creation itself came from you, Leon."
So there I had it, everything was just as it was because I existed. But then I still don't know why Ryoth could die and didn't come back. Oh bingo, it was because after God freed the paradox, Ryoth was never omnipotent before any of this. He was the first Guardian of this void. Before this one. "Where were you alive before Ryoth was, or were you just serving him as a lower-ranked Gardian?"
Guardian-. "Correct. Before you had slain him. Many of us other Guardians were just mary sure nothing got in until you came. We waited for you to come from the already existing paradox, Leon."
I wasn't just a protector. I was the thread that binds us all together. I was more important than I thought I was.
I traveled across dimension to dimensions now and then. I even found a strange Multiverse where hell had a rift I need to fix. There were so many demons that looked like they sought out redemption to get to Heaven. Over a few months, I balanced out the Omnivurse, but still struggled with people trying to kill me from all sorts of places. I had quite the adventures, and quite the story to tell.
