saf was still staring at my legs
" you don't have to worry about my legs, they will heal on its own " I said and indeed they were already healing.
diverting most of my magic to fly both me and saf here costed my injuries to heal slower but now that we have landed they were visibly improving
after about five more minutes I was still looking around to find a place to rest for the night with saf following me looking at my legs completely heal
we soon come across a steep hill that was itself was in a depression in the earth and camouflaged by the surrounding trees and foliage
it would do
I walked to a tree amd sent a of magic through it and working like echo location relayed back to me a mental map of the vegetation on the hill
through that, I could see small amounts of grass in small and medium caves doting the hill
one of which as close to the bottom and was good enough for me and saf to rest for the night
only problem was that the cave already had an occupant
some kind of animal that I couldn't make out as it was curled into a ball alseep
I informed saf of my discovery and her only response was " great, we can have fresh meat with our breakfast " while finally looking away from my healed legs with a big smile on her face
I sweat drop at her before leading the way down into the depression and towards the cave stopping close by
from our spot all we could see was a thick wall of vines growing down the hill
but I knew that behind that wall as the cave
I thought about how I wanted to do this
..I didn't want to make a big commotion
dealing with the animal physically may lead the females from the village to us, as I know they wouldn't give up that easily especially after we injured one of their own...
dark magic is versatile but I wanted something that could kill as quickly and quietly as possible
that's when I thought about one of my skills I have really yet to try out

channeling my magic to my mind in a differnt way from my mind arts i access my creation space
in my mind was a vast world beyond I could see, with a grassly field and a clear blue sky...
nothing else
however I could instinctively feel I make anything I wanted so long as I had the magic and a general understanding of what I'm making...
I think back to my first life to a specific poison
the one known as the silent killer as it was undetectable and acts fast
I didn't know what was in that cave..... but I knew it had to breathe
the silent killer would stop all of that and since the animal is asleep...
it was basically already dead already and didn't know it
I created a concentrated gas of carbon and oxygen atoms and brought it out of my creation space
opening my eyes saf was looking at my raised hand that had a dense ball of flowing grey gas in my hand...
I modified it to where nothing remained in the body after killing the animal as It was breakfast
" nova what is that? " saf asks feeling something was off with the ball in my hands
examining it i could feel that I could release the gas from this ball form, letting it spread like fog of deadly gas
" this is how we will get the cave and breakfast without a fight " I said
saf looked at me a little doubtful but said nothing
I didn't take it to heart as I crept closer to the cave entrance motioning from saf to step back some
in front of the cave I could hear the sounds of deep snoring
I don't go inside
I just part the wall of vines then throw the deadly ball inside dissipating its form and letting it spread unhindered in the cave
I back away as to not breath any in and went to stand next to saf...
waiting..
" so how long would thus take? " she asked when we have been looking at the cave for a minute
I guess even now she thought I would do something physical or there would be a reaction from inside the cave
" just give it a few more minutes just to be sure " I said
she fell silent after that and continued to look at the cave
while she couldn't see anything happening, I could she with my eyes that a fog of invisible gas was wafting out of the cave
waiting another few minutes I told saf to stay where she was and crept back towards the cave again
the wall of fog was in front of me but I made a bubble of clean air with my mind arts and peeked through the vines
inside the snoring had completely stopped and the animal had moved slightly
it musy have detected it after all but it was too late to do anything about it
it looked like a mix between a big grizzly bear or a black bear and a polar bear as it had all the colors of the aforementioned bears.... but really big
it's body was twitching still and it's eyes was staring back as me... but I could tell it was dead
using my creation space again I produced a big fan that worked with magic and walked to the back of the cave
setting it near the back I turned it on and watched as the fog blew out of the caves opening
after another minute to make sure it dissipated enough to allow saf in without worry
walking back out I called her over
" is it really dead? " she asked looking me over even though she just saw me come out the cave intacted
" yes its really dead...come see for yourself " I said leading her inside
once inside she stared at the bear
" this would keep us with meat for days " she said before looking back at me "ssooooo...? " she said and I knew what she wanted to ask
" we need to make a bed to sleep on for the night, I already have clean sheets in my ring. as for anything else leave that to me " I said disregarding the bear for now to find bedding materials

it didn't take us long to find differnt kinds of leaves from different trees
all where big but some where soft, others fluffy, and some sturdy
we use them to craft two small beds at the back on the cave
we didn't need a fire to see but I had to get the bear dissected and ready to be cooked and smoked to preserve it longer
" do you need any help? " saf called out to me once she was done with her bed and saw me drag the body out the cave using magic
I look back at her and I could see the exhaustion on her face
shaking ny head " it's fine, go ahead and rest I will deal with the bear and watch for any pursuers " I said and walked out
I didnt hear anything else from her and took it that she agreed....
there was times in my first life that i couldn't sleep and just stayed up all night so being up was nothing new
I dragged it far enough before cutting it open

by the time the sun was rising I was tired but it was manageable
once during the night I heard voices close by and I had to cover the light from the fire using dark magic as I had alot of meat to cook before dawn
it wasn't until they grew softer and faded away that I let down my magic and sigh in relief ..
I watched as one of the suns rised slowly into the sky....
before looking at the two differnt piles infornt of me, there was another one full of discarded innards and bones but I looked at one big pile of smoked meat and a pile of meat I put to the side for breakfast
i sped up the smoking process with my dark magic with a dark tower with levels for the meat over the fire and made a funnel for the heat and smoke
I stood and walked back to the cave to wake saf
when I made it inside I saw saf laying on her bed and i paused
she had changed back into her usual sleep wear of just a big shirt and panties with the sheets was tossed aside but...
..her had shirt rolled up in her sleep showing me a full breast...and her panties was also a bit a skew
