Chapter 22: The Terror of the Poisonous River
In the previous chapter:
The mysterious old man's servant revealed that a new danger had emerged in the poisonous river—a terrifying and gigantic snake!
The old man mentioned a mysterious bridge to cross the river, and together they devised a plan to safely cross while avoiding the venomous creatures.
But then...
Suddenly, a strange and terrifying sound echoed...
---
"All of a sudden, a strange, horrifying cracking noise echoed through the air—as if something was squeezing its prey tightly.
The sound was so terrifying that it made the hair on their bodies stand on end!"
Junaid's face turned pale. In a frightened voice, he said,
"Ali... what is this sound? It sounds really scary!"
Sheikh Hamza also became alert,
"I think this sound is coming from the poisonous river!"
The mysterious old man spoke in a serious tone,
"You are right, Sheikh Hamza. The sound is coming from there!"
Ali asked anxiously,
"But... what could this sound be?"
The old man's eyes reflected deep thought,
"It could be from the terrifying creatures living in the river. We must stay cautious!"
Sheikh Hamza thought for a moment and then said,
"If you say so, shall we go and check where this sound is coming from?"
The old man nodded,
"Let's go, I will accompany you."
A Horrifying Sight
Ali and the others started moving towards the poisonous river.
The river wasn't far, but as they moved closer, the atmosphere became heavier and more frightening.
As they reached the riverbank, their eyes widened in shock and fear.
Junaid whispered,
"This is enormous!"
In front of them was a gigantic, pitch-black snake that looked like a crocodile in the water. It wasn't an ordinary snake—it was seven times bigger than a regular one, its thick skin was jet black, and it rose straight out of the water, appearing ready to seize its prey.
Ali spoke in a low voice,
"This is far more terrifying... many times bigger than a normal snake!"
The mysterious old man slowly nodded his head,
"My servant was right. It has come to the poisonous river... and it is extremely dangerous!"
Sheikh Hamza pointed towards the snake and said,
"Look at its eyes...!"
Everyone focused on the snake's eyes, and their hearts started pounding faster.
The snake's eyes were blood-red... filled with rage and hatred.
Junaid spoke anxiously,
"I think it has become even angrier after seeing us!"
Sheikh Hamza's voice was filled with concern,
"Yes, it must have become more furious after seeing us!"
The old man spoke in a serious tone,
"This deadly creature surely makes us fearful, but we must stay brave. No matter what, we have to cross this river!"
Then... Another Threat!
Suddenly, a violent commotion arose in the river, as if a massive creature was about to emerge from the depths.
The water of the river started bubbling, and a terrifying black shadow appeared on the surface.
In the blink of an eye, a giant crocodile burst out from beneath the water—its sharp teeth gleaming in the sunlight, and its open jaws ready to seize anyone as prey!
It was the same crocodile that had injured Junaid earlier! But now... its eyes had turned red as well, just like the snake's.
It stared at Ali and the others from a distance, as if they were its next victims.
"Now our troubles have only increased!" Junaid said nervously.
Sheikh Hamza, frustrated, said,
"Was one crocodile not enough that this snake also showed up!"
The old man observed the crocodile closely and said,
"It's growling fiercely... but don't worry. We will stick to our plan and cross this river!"
Ali, with confidence, said,
"We must stay positive! These dangerous creatures won't be able to stop us."
The old man smiled,
"Well said, Ali! I like your positive attitude."
Sheikh Hamza asked worriedly,
"But... how will we start our plan?"
The old man replied seriously,
"We need to return to the hut. That's where the plan will begin!"
Junaid nodded,
"Then let's go, we shouldn't waste a single moment!"
Beginning of the Plan
As soon as they reached the hut, the old man spoke in a loud voice,
"Ali! Grab your iron rod—we will need to show its true power today!"
He looked at Sheikh Hamza,
"Take out your sword, it's not just for fighting but also for our protection!"
"Junaid, go outside and bring two strong wooden sticks—but hurry, we don't have much time!"
Junaid asked, surprised,
"Why two? I only need one!"
The old man smiled faintly,
"Bring one for me too."
"Alright, I'll get them!" Junaid quickly went outside and picked up two sturdy sticks.
Ali grabbed his iron rod, Sheikh Hamza took his sword, and Junaid held the wooden sticks firmly.
The old man opened his pouch and took out a small vial.
Junaid asked curiously,
"Is this the same potion? The one that, if it touches those poisonous creatures, they won't be able to move?"
The old man nodded,
"Yes, Junaid! This is the potion."
Without wasting any time, he applied the potion to Ali's rod, Sheikh Hamza's sword, and both wooden sticks.
The old man spoke confidently,
"Now let's see how these dangerous creatures stop us!"
Ali smiled,
Ali gripped his rod tightly, his eyes reflecting determination. "Now we are ready!" he said, clenching his fist.
