"You don't know how it feels like to sleep?" I asked taken aback by his words. I mean why wouldn't you know how it feels to sleep, for example after a long day of work… sleep is always the remedy, nobody has to tell you.
"Like you mean you don't get tired at all?" I asked still trying to grasp the situation.
"I don't know how it feels to know if I do" he stated, the emptiness in his eyes more obvious than ever. One could actually say there was no life in those eyes… like the moon, desolate yet tranquil.
"For how long have you lived?" I asked out of curiosity.
"A very long time," he said unprecisely.
"How long? 200 years? 300? 500?" I urged trying to get him to open up a little, my inquisitiveness increasing by the minute.
" A thousand I guess" he said with uncertainty but I could tell he wasn't exaggerating.
"Woahhh!" I exclaimed with my eyes wide open. "I'm probably about to break a record…a 24 years old going for a thousand years old" I said with a wide grin, my eyes turning into crescents. For a moment I thought I saw Dominique smile.
"That's one way to put it," he said casually. I couldn't help but stare intently at him for a moment.
"Why are you staring at me that way?" he asked his eyes squinted.
"Like how?" I replied
"Pity and fascination… I get the fascination but why pity?" he said his gaze not flinching.
"I know you look calm and powerful and you probably feel the same way… but your eyes say otherwise," I said, my head tilted to the side trying to gauge his expressions.
"Otherwise?" he asked his brows slightly furrowed.
"I don't know whyy, but yes… It's like they are just a facade, transparent yet hard to decipher," I voiced out my complicated thoughts.
"Ohh" he simply let out.
"What was your past like, any ex-girlfriend or ex-wife, family?" I asked, my curiosity reaching its peak.
"you should get some sleep" he said with a low voice as if trying to keep something at bay. His gaze darkened, staring quietly into the night sky through the window. I had probably said something to trigger this calm anger.
Not wanting to push my luck, I stood up, my gaze lingering for a moment.
"Well in the next 20 days, I won't just make you see my worth but also make sure you have the best fun of your life. So even if you fail to love me, at least I'll be a happy memory," I said resolutely before walking out.
After talking to Gwen and confirming the dinner with Aaron's parent went well, I went straight to bed. My mind still wandering with thoughts of Dominique; was he mad? Did I say something wrong? Hopefully, by morning he'll be good. People will definitely vomit blood if they know I was worried for a demon… a very sexy demon tho.
I was woken up by the knock on my door, checking the time it was just 7:30 am.
"come in!" I sighed before laying back dramatically.
" Miss Olivana, we're here to get you ready," a woman said before an an array of maids walked in, each with different stuffs; ranging from clothes to jewelries to shoes and even makeup kits.
"Ohh… isn't that a bit too much?" I asked feeling a little awkward from all the extra.
"No miss, sir asked us to make you the best if not perfect!" the woman, who's probably in charge said.
"Are we to get started now?" I asked, sleep still visible on my face.
"Yes miss, we need to prepare you by noon" the woman replied as she gestured for the others to set everything up, to which they carried out effectively. I had no choice but to carry my groggy self up.
"Lemme go shower then" I said as I tied my hair into a bun.
"Miss, a warm bath has been readied for you in the bathroom… and we'll be taking care of that too" the woman said as she gestured for me to enter the bathroom, with three other girls trailing along.
"Oh my! N-no I-i like, miss umm—" I stuttered involuntarily causing the girls to smile.
"Agatha, you can call me Agatha miss" she said respectfully
"Oh yes Miss Agatha, I don't see the need for you to help me take my bathe, I can totally handle it by myself," I said with a smile hoping they compromise.
" Well, Miss Olivana, Sir Specially instructed us to make you look your best if not perfect, and I need to finish my job… so pls relax and leave all this to us," Agatha said calmly and I couldn't argue with her.
"It's just that it's a little weird allowing someone else see my nakedness, and there are four of you" I said as I fidgeted.
"Ohh I can tell Miss Olivana is shy but this is what is asked of us. You know what? Just treat us as moving statues helping you… if that helps" she tried assuring me which I wasn't getting it tho.
"Umm okay then" I finally consented.
Soon after a very awkward beauty bathe and a series of picking an outfit and jewelry plus the application of makeup. It took about 5 hours to get all this done which wasi exhausting. The maids, which I've already bonded with all showered me with praises.
I stood up to check myself out in the long mirror, and damn I was stunned by how stunning I was.
"Oh my goodness! Is this really me?" I exclaimed still not believing my eyes.
I was dressed in an elegant long strapless black gown, with a slit up to my thigh, revealing my smooth fair skin. The gown's corset highlighted my slim waist, with matching laced gloves worn over my slender arms. My hair which had altered to an ash-black combination was currently tied into a bun with curly strands left out adding to my elegance. My outfit was then matched with red stilettos and a red purse.
"Yes miss, shall we go downstairs?" Agatha asked with a satisfied smile.
"Yes, we shall" I said with a big smile as I was led outside.
At that moment, It felt like I was a princess in a fairytale, something i had never dared to imagine. As I ascended the stairs, Dominique, Michael and an unfamiliar lady were already in the sitting room. My eyes instantly met those distant empty ones of Dominique, gazing intently for any fleeting emotions.
"Ohh wow Olivana is looking stunning," Michael said, finally bringing back my attention. My unhurried footsteps sure added to my charm making me look mature and dashing.
"Ohh well what can I say," I said with a smile befitting my appearance as I walked towards Dominique.
"How do I look?" I asked as I stood in front of him smiling from ear to ear like a teenager in love.
"Not bad," he said with an expressionless face, knowing that already coming from him was already an achievement. My smile became bigger and brighter, if that was even possible.
" Dom, who's she?"
