She raised her chin defiantly. "Meet the youngest House Head of Soladors. The one who made the request in the first place. Max Stormhart. I assume you've heard the name?"
It was clear by her tone: this wasn't just about defending Max. Alina wanted to go head-to-head with this girl. She wanted to challenge the hierarchy Janica stood on.
Janica tilted her head slightly. "Ohh… so you're the new House Head? Of the new House?"
Max scratched the back of his neck, feeling the weight of all the eyes on him. "Ahh... yeah. That's me."
He'd never been the center of attention like this before. He wasn't used to it. Not like this. Not in front of a crowd this big and judgmental.
Janica looked at him up, down, head to toe as if calculating something in her mind. "So… a student from your House said this paper structure will be the permanent dorm for Swordhart?"
Her voice dripped sarcasm.
