"What the—" Amelia stopped herself just in time when Alpha Killian held her shoulders to stabilize her and prevent her from falling.
"Were you going to curse me?" Killian asked with raised brows.
If it had been earlier, he would've surely snapped at her. Then again, Amelia wouldn't have cursed at him either.
Instead, she would've thanked him non-stop for saving her from falling.
But after that ditch incident, everything has changed.
Killian observed the girl, who wasn't soft-spoken anymore. She now had a sharp tongue that she didn't shy away from using recklessly.
This wasn't the same girl who used to smile at him all the time, stand in the rain, kneel to appease them, and sing her love to him. She wasn't the same, and he was starting to feel it in his bones now.
