She was a reborn person who had lived in the apocalypse for who knows how many years but had no experience of fighting zombies or scavenging supplies.

"I know where the shop is but I didn't look at its name, so I can't tell you how to get there. Why don't you wait for me to come back? When you pick me up at the airport, we can go together to get the bangle, the appraisal should have ended by then."
Leng Pan threw out another bait. This time even if Bai Yinyin had some suspicions before, they were now dispelled.
Bai Yinyin on the other side of the phone cursed Leng Pan silently for being stupid and agreed with her suggestion.
The day after tomorrow was the day the apocalypse started. As long as she got the bangle early, she could still store the supplies she had bought in the space before things got out of hand.
She had no other choice otherwise. That stupid girl better come back on an earlier flight or she would be stuck in City Y and her plan will be ruined.
Even at a time like this, Bai Yinyin was still selfish and had no intention of telling Leng Pan about the apocalypse so she could prepare some supplies.
'What a wonderful friend' Leng Pan thought as she hung up the phone.
She had been on the phone for ten minutes and felt that she had kept her husband waiting.
She quickly opened her bag and took out a set of comfortable home clothes and changed into it before leaving the bedroom.
Lu Zhen watched as his wife descended the stairs from the second floor and felt his heart beat like a drum. His dream had finally come true.
The woman he loved the most was now his legal wife. He had never dared to dream about something so good.
Before, even if she talked to him for one minute, he would contend. Now, he could talk to her all he wanted, and probably do more…the thought of that made a particular part of his body wake up and stretch.
He was a little too excited today.
"Hubby." He was woken up from his reverie by the soft voice of his wife.
He could not believe just heard. Did she call him 'hubby'?
He was so excited he didn't know what to say. Leng Pan watched her husband's face turn red from excitement and was at a loss for words.
It's just a form of address. She figured that to close the distance between them quickly, she had to create an intimate atmosphere at least, and changing the way she addressed him might help.
She didn't expect it to make him as excited as a child who had finally gotten a piece of candy he wanted for a long time.
"What…what did you just call me? Can you call me again?" Lu Zhen finally woke up from his excited state and asked, his tone was as if he was begging for something important.
Leng Pan could only fulfill his wish and call him again, " Hubby."
As soon as he heard it again, Lu Zhen knew that he was not dreaming. This was reality. It finally dawned on him that he was really married to Leng Pan.
He couldn't care about scaring her anymore as he took two large strides and reached her then gathered her in his arms and brought his lips down on hers.
The kiss was long and lingering. It was Leng Pan's first kiss in both lifetimes, and from how inexperienced Lu Zhen was as what he did most was bite her like a dog, it was his first time too.
By the time Lu Zhen let her go, both of them were breathless and panting.
He however didn't let her go immediately, he hugged her even tighter as if to prove to himself that she was really, finally in his arms.
"Thank you for marrying me, Panpan." He finally said as he caught his breath.
"I am very happy you agreed to be my wife. I promise to cherish you and always make you happy." He continued to make promises.
Leng Pan knew that unlike most men, his promises were going to stick. He will do exactly what he promised.
"Mmmm…I am happy too. And I promise to be a good wife to you."
Hearing her promise, Lu Zhen held her even tighter.
Finally, after hugging for five minutes, Lu Zhen let Leng Pan go and held her hand leading her to the dining table where their dinner was waiting.
Luckily, he had foresight and after warming the food he had put it in preservation hot pots. So, the food was still hot. Otherwise, they would have to warm it again and it would no longer taste good.
They sat down facing each other and started eating. From time to time, Lu Zhen would add pieces of meat or vegetables to Leng Pan's plate.
It gave him great joy to serve his wife. He wondered how so many men, most of whom he knew and did business with could go out and cheat on their wives when it was so blissful to be with her.
He would never feel any attraction towards any other woman in his life.
After they were done eating, Leng Pan was about to start collecting the dishes on the table when Lu Zhen stopped her.
"I can do this. It's just a few dishes, I'll clean them in five minutes. You don't have to bother. Go wait in the living room and watch TV." He said to her as he stood up and started collecting the dishes.

Leng Pan didn't argue with him as indeed there were only a few dishes to wash.
She went to wait in the living room and decided to brew some tea while she waited.
She was always fascinated by ancient culture and making tea was one of the skills she was interested in and had deliberately learned when she was in university.
The original Leng Pan shared the same passion for their country's ancient culture, which was why she liked going to the antique street to look at old pieces of antiques, even if she knew that most of them were fake.
Hadn't she gotten lucky and picked up that jade bangle? Unfortunately, it only benefited that white lotus Bai Yinyin in the end, and in this life, it was benefitting her.
She could only sigh at the bad luck of that girl. But she promised to live a good life on her behalf and let Bai Yinyin suffer retribution.
All of a sudden, she felt a lot lighter. She felt as if she had been carrying a heavy burden all this time without knowing and it was finally laid down.
Only then did she understand that the subconscious of the original Leng Pan was still lingering in her body and only after she made that silent promise did she finally let go and vanish.
How creepy!
