Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Association

Hero Association Headquarters – The Arrival

Far from the noise of the city, the Hero Association Headquarters stood tall and commanding—a sleek tower of steel and glass, reinforced with cutting-edge technology. Its exterior shimmered under the daylight, a symbol of humanity's organized defense against the monstrous threats of the world.

Inside, on the top floor, a massive circular conference chamber had been prepared. At the heart of the room stood a polished obsidian table shaped like a ring, each S-Class hero seated in their respective spots, their names engraved in sleek metallic plaques.

The tension was palpable—whispers had spread quickly about the mysterious figure who had stopped a Dragon-level disaster with barely a scratch.

Then, the double doors creaked open.

Standing at the entrance was Silver Fang, arms folded beside the Chairman of the Hero Association, a stately man in a tailored gray suit whose glasses caught the light ominously.

Silver Fang cracked a rare grin. "He's here."

All heads turned.

Damian entered first, tall and composed, his red cape flowing behind him with an almost supernatural grace. Genos followed, precise and professional. And last, Saitama, lazily walking in mid-bite of his pizza, crumbs trailing behind him like confetti.

Every S-Class hero in the room watched the trio. The so-called Sky God had arrived.

The Chairman blinked, clearly taken aback by Damian's youth and confident presence. But he quickly regained his composure and stepped forward, extending a hand.

"Thank you for coming. Damian Blood, correct? Genos has already given us a report about you. We'll take care of your registration after this. For now, we've gathered the S-Class heroes to review the Z-City incident—and your role in saving the city."

The room fell silent. All eyes were locked on Damian.

"If you don't mind," the Chairman continued, "please introduce yourself—and walk us through how you saved the city."

Damian stepped forward, calmly shaking the Chairman's hand.

"Of course," he replied smoothly. "I'm new to your world—and I'd like to become an official hero."

To the others, it looked like a composed pause, but inside Damian's mind, time slowed as his super brain scanned the room.

Tatsumaki… Atomic Samurai… Zombieman… and holy crap, King… Stay cool, Damian. First impressions count.

He hovered slightly above the floor, arms behind his back, cape swaying with poise. Slowly, he floated to the center of the chamber.

"My name is Damian Blood," he began. "I'm not from this planet. I arrived yesterday, and shortly after, I detected a massive threat approaching Earth—a meteor large enough to annihilate a city. I used my abilities to stop and redirect it."

He paused.

"My race draws energy from solar radiation. That energy fuels my strength, flight, durability, and a form of telekinesis."

He gave a respectful bow, then rose back to his full height, still hovering inches from the ground.

The Chairman stepped forward again, looking up at him.

"Thank you, Damian. On behalf of the Association and the people of Z-City, we're deeply grateful. If you hadn't intervened, we might not be having this conversation."

The Chairman turned to address the seated heroes.

"Some of you didn't respond to the crisis at all."

Tatsumaki rolled her eyes and flipped her hair. "I was saving another city. I can't be everywhere at once, Chairman."

Atomic Samurai scoffed quietly. Zombieman stayed silent, expression unreadable.

Damian glanced at Tatsumaki, amused. Yep. Still a brat in real life.

The Chairman cleared his throat. "This is why we summoned the full S-Class—aside from Blast, who is on a classified mission."

Child Emperor looked up from his laptop. "Classified? Let me pull that—"

"Mmmph, never mind that," the Chairman interrupted. "Let's continue."

He turned back to Damian.

"Damian Blood—Sky God—you are hereby officially registered as an S-Class hero. Your rank will begin at S-Class Rank 11."

A wave of murmurs passed through the room.

The Chairman then turned to Genos. "Genos. Based on your participation and valor during the event, your rank will now be S-Class Rank 12."

Genos bowed slightly. "Thank you, Chairman."

The Chairman nodded, then looked at Silver Fang and Metal Knight. "Thank you both for your efforts. No rank changes at this time."

He paused, turning toward Saitama with slight discomfort.

"Ugh… Caped Baldy. I mean, Hero Saitama."

Saitama blinked while trying to wipe pizza grease off his fingers.

"Uhh, yes. I'm Saitama. But I don't really like being called—"

"Thank you for showing up. Your rank has been increased from C-Class Rank 342 to C-Class Rank 1. Congratulations."

Saitama blinked again. "...Oh. Cool, I guess."

The meeting was adjourned. Heroes began to rise, some nodding respectfully toward Damian, others leaving without a word.

Post-Meeting — Welcome to the S-Class

As the room emptied, Damian floated over to Saitama and Genos, stretching out his shoulders.

"Well… that was longer than I expected. But hey—S-Class already."

He quietly opened his system panel:

[Main Mission: Become an S-Class Hero – Complete]Reward: Traversal Ticket x1Would you like to claim your reward?

Yes.

A golden shimmer passed through his mind's eye as the ticket slid into his inventory.

One down. Three more to go.

Before they could leave, several heroes approached them: Child Emperor, Watchdog Man, Pig God, and King.

"Hey!" Child Emperor beamed, eyes shining. "Nice to have another kid around! How old are you?"

"Almost seventeen," Damian answered. "You?"

Before the boy genius could reply, Pig God waddled closer, sniffing the air intensely.

"Mmm… is that… pizza? I smell it on you," he groaned, eyes locking on Saitama's greasy fingers. "So… hungry…"

Damian immediately took a step back, silently deciding to let Saitama handle that encounter.

He turned toward the others, offering a slight bow. "Thank you all. I'm honored to be here—and I plan to keep growing stronger."

Watchdog Man, crouched on the table, barked: "Ruff. You're already crazy strong. Wanting to improve? That's how real heroes think."

Finally, King stepped forward. The room seemed to pause as he extended a hand.

"I'm King."

Damian smiled and shook it. "I know, Genos told me you're the strongest man in the world."

King's expression barely twitched, but internally, sweat poured down his spine.

Please don't crush my hand. Please don't expose me…

To his immense relief, Damian's grip was featherlight.

King exhaled. "Well… yes. That's what I'm known as."

Damian smiled politely but thought to himself: This guy has no power aura whatsoever… and yet, he still feels… dangerous? What kind of luck is this guy running on?

The trio eventually made their way to the administrative wing. Damian finalized his paperwork, confirmed his citizenship, and received his Hero Association-issued phone, ID badge, and official license.

As they exited the glass front doors into the sunlight, Damian turned to Saitama and Genos.

"Well, I'm official now," he said with a grin. "So… when do we start training?"

Before either of them could answer, a sharp voice cut through the moment like a blade of wind.

"Excuse me. Out of the way, newbies."

The trio turned just in time to see Tatsumaki, also known as Terror Tornado, striding confidently through the corridor. Her small figure floated slightly off the ground, her green aura flickering faintly around her as she passed between them.

Her expression was smug, like a queen surveying peasants.

She paused a few feet ahead, slowly turning around midair, arms crossed. Her voice was layered with a teasing whine, like a teenager trying not to show too much interest.

"Don't think just because you can fly and use telekinesis that you're hot stuff now. Some of us can do the same—only better."

With that, she lifted herself higher into the air, levitating effortlessly in front of Damian as if to assert dominance.

But Damian didn't flinch. Instead, he gave her a charming smile and replied in a flirting tone, "Wow, Tatsumaki. That almost sounded like a compliment. Thank you."

The green-haired esper blinked. Her cheeks turned just a little pink. She quickly looked away, muttering under her breath, "Oh my God, he's hot…"

Then catching herself, she shook her head. Okay, don't look weird. Look powerful.

She made a small sound of disapproval—half-scoff, half-flustered huff—and gave Damian one last, lingering glance before she flew off toward the sky, disappearing above the headquarters.

The three watched her figure shrink into the distance. Damian tilted his head thoughtfully.

"She's a little annoying… but still kind of hot," he muttered to himself. "Then again, her sister Fubuki is way hotter."

There was a beat of silence.

Then Saitama broke it.

"Is she always that annoying?" he asked blankly. "And… how old is she? I thought kids couldn't join the Association."

He raised a finger to his chin.

Genos responded immediately. "Master, children can join, like Child Emperor. But I believe Tatsumaki is actually twenty-eight years old."

Saitama froze. "Twenty-eight?!" His eyes widened in disbelief. "Huh… well. Okay, sure."

He stretched and patted his stomach. "Anyway, let's head home—no, wait. Let's stop by the grocery store. It's Saturday. We need to get there before the sale ends."

Genos tilted his head. "But Master, I thought you didn't need to shop anymore. You can eat pizza whenever you want now."

Saitama replied seriously, "Well, like you said, Genos, I don't want to eat only pizza."

He turned to Damian, who was still recovering from the Tatsumaki interaction.

"What about you, Sky God? You in for the store run?"

Damian chuckled. "Sure. I'd actually like to buy some groceries myself. Maybe pick up some casual clothes too—I can't be walking around in my super-suit all the time. I'm already getting enough attention as it is."

Genos nodded. "Then I'll meet you both back home. I need to check in with Doctor Kuseno for some upgrades."

Saitama turned toward the exit. "Alright then—store first. Then let's game! I mean, train..."

The three parted ways outside the headquarters.

Behind them, the buzz of the Hero Association continued, but out on the streets… the legend of the Sky God was just beginning.

As they disappeared into the horizon, the crowd outside the Hero Association continued buzzing—cameras rolling, onlookers pointing, media scrambling for quotes.

"That's him!"

"He really can fly!"

"Was that Caped Baldy floating next to him?!"

"I got it all on video!"

"Okay you ready??"

"We're live in 3, 2, 1...
