Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"I find myself curious, my lady. I wonder if you remain the cunning little girl I once knew from our childhood days. If you would be so kind as to indulge my query..." He said

"...or perhaps you have changed?" He added, raising an eyebrow and scratching his chin.

"I do not know what you speak of, William..." she murmured, her voice low.

"Are you certain, Vanessa? Come now, I am your elder brother; we both know you've always possessed a talent for cunning schemes since childhood. Care to share?" His eyes narrowed slightly as he regarded her.

She scoffed, a sound of irritated resignation, knowing she couldn't escape her brother's perceptive gaze.

"Come now, little sister... I'm certain you could divulge your cunning plan..."

His expression darkened, his tone growing more serious.

"Fine. I do have a cunning plan. So what?" she said, her voice low and a frown furrowing her brow.

"And what precisely is it this time?" He said, his tone serious.

"That's none of your business anymore, brother..." she mumbled, avoiding his gaze.

"Come now, I want to hear your cunning plan... Is it about the dukedom?" He grinned, a sly, regal expression on his face.

"Yes, it's about the dukedom...and it involves a commoner the Duke once loved, a woman named Lita. But my plan...I need to secure the position of Duchess before I deal with that commoner..."

She mumbled, her voice barely audible.

"And why exactly?" He asked, his voice a low murmur

"Well, you see... that commoner chose the Crown Prince over the Duke, making him look foolish. But I know why she chose the Crown Prince—she wants royal blood. Unfortunately, I also want to be the next Duchess. You know me, my dear brother; I've wanted this since childhood if you know what I mean..."

"And I will make sure that little commoner lives in hell after I become Duchess, ensuring she cannot escape my grasp."

She chuckled cruelly.

"I must say... I hope you proceed with caution. Besides, it's difficult to dissuade you from your plans. But please be mindful of the consequences,"

He said gravely, his tone regal and serious.

"Naturally."

She grinned cruelly, a regal and chilling smile.

"Good to hear..." He sighed, a weary sigh that spoke of royal burdens.

William knows that what his sister is planning, is for sure might be a big situation but he knew he can't stop her from her cunning persona.
