Chapter 28 - Chapter 28:The Optimized Path

Chapter 29

Byrne and Maris both guessed wrong.

Luciel had spent a full half-hour in the triple gravity chamber.

"Holding on for 30 minutes can increase physical fitness by 0.1," the chip reported.

This result was entirely thanks to the analysis from the chip. Luciel's perseverance for thirty minutes led to a significant improvement in his physical fitness. However, the chip also warned that this effect would not be as noticeable in subsequent sessions.

Chip analysis: "It is estimated that practicing for 586 minutes under three times the gravity environment can increase physical fitness by 0.1."

Luciel had essentially compressed almost twenty times the recommended duration into a single session.

When he walked out of the gravity room, both Byrne and Maris were staring at him with wide eyes.

Maris, in particular, looked at Luciel with a mix of astonishment and complexity.

"Thirty minutes in the triple gravity chamber on your first attempt..." Byrne exclaimed, clearly impressed. "Luciel, you've broken another record for our association!"

Luciel smiled humbly, offering no words in response.

Byrne, clearly curious, asked, "How long have you been practicing knight breathing? I assume it's been at least half a year?"

Luciel blinked in surprise. "Knight Breathing? Senior Byrne, you're joking! I don't have the inheritance of Cavalry Breathing. When I performed well during the mid-term assessment, Teacher Julian rewarded me with a breathing method, but I haven't had the time to practice it yet."

"Uh..." Byrne was left speechless.

Maris's eyelids twitched furiously.

To think that Luciel had reached the level of a 6th-level apprentice knight in just his third year, without practicing a breathing method, was incomprehensible. It had only taken him a minute or two to grasp the technique for breathing under the gravity's pressure.

Maris couldn't believe it. Luciel was a living definition of genius.

Byrne let out a sigh, his expression a mixture of admiration and frustration. As a ninth-level apprentice knight, just one step away from reaching the real knight level, he had never felt more inadequate.

Byrne forced a smile. "When you grow stronger, you'll be able to adjust the gravity multiplier in the gravity chamber. The maximum is ten times gravity. But I must warn you, even I wouldn't dare to try it."

Luciel's eyes brightened, and he nodded slightly in agreement.

Practicing under higher gravity would undoubtedly have a better effect on his physical fitness. Joining the Swordsmanship Association had been a very wise decision. The Magic Puppet Challenge Room, the Obstacle Room, and the Gravity Room alone made his training much more effective, saving him countless hours of work.

Luciel paused for a moment, then asked, "I still don't fully understand. What exactly will my responsibilities be as Vice President?"

Byrne smiled casually. "In truth, you don't need to do much. Just focus on cultivating your strength. Of course, you may need to deal with some problems if necessary."

"Problems?" Luciel raised an eyebrow.

Byrne's grin widened. "Some minor issues may arise from time to time. Don't worry about it too much."

---

After leaving the training grounds, Luciel returned to his dormitory. He was surprised to find that forty-eight hours had passed while he was practicing, and the entry-level knight breathing method that Julian had taught him had been fully optimized by the chip.

A small, light-blue figure appeared before Luciel, displaying the meridians, muscles, and bones of the body, with red light flowing through it in rhythmic cycles.

Following the chip's guidance, Luciel began to adjust his breathing according to the new method.

After a few minutes, he felt a warm airflow move through his body, circulating slowly through his meridians, almost like a playful breeze.

Twenty-five minutes later, Luciel let out a long, drawn breath and opened his eyes. A thin layer of sweat had formed on his face and body, giving off a slightly metallic scent.

Luciel quickly walked into the bathroom to wash up.

"Practicing the breathing method is no less than an intense workout. According to the chip's analysis, three times a day is the limit. Doing more would burden my body."

Luciel reviewed the chip's data again. Ten days of practice will improve all three physical attributes by 0.1. Not bad at all.

The optimized breathing method was having excellent results on his body.

After his shower, Luciel dressed in a clean samurai uniform and prepared to leave.

In the past two days, he had auditioned several different swordsmanship styles available to third-year students. Finally, he found one that seemed perfect for combining with his Rock Swordsmanship and Cross Swordsmanship—Huazhe Swordsmanship.

This particular style, originating from the royal court, was known for its grandiose moves and immense power, favored by noble families.

Today, Luciel was attending his first class on Huazhe Swordsmanship.

---

As soon as he entered the swordsmanship classroom, Luciel heard hushed whispers around him.

"Isn't that Luciel Lanster? The one who got double excellent evaluations in the mid-term assessment?"

"Yes, even Mentor Julian lost to him in a swordsmanship duel."

"Really? That's unbelievable!"

Since the mid-term assessments, Luciel's reputation had grown significantly among the third-year students. Many had heard of his name, and the stories about his talent had spread like wildfire.

However, many were still skeptical. How could someone previously unknown suddenly rise and surpass well-known figures like Lawrence Taylor and others?

As Luciel walked through the classroom, a muscular young man with a neatly cut hairstyle stepped in front of him.

"I've heard that you're quite good with a sword. How about a match?" The young man looked at Luciel with a challenging smirk.

The crowd gathered around them, eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

"Saudi!" someone whispered.

"Strength: 1.8,

Speed: 2.5,

Physique: 2.5..."

At best, Saudi had barely reached the level of a 4th-level apprentice knight, making Luciel completely uninterested.

Luciel glanced at him briefly, then turned and walked past without a word.

Saudi laughed loudly. "Don't you dare?!"

"So, you're a coward after all!"

The onlookers who had eagerly awaited the confrontation now shook their heads in disappointment.

"Even Saudi dared to provoke him, and Luciel didn't respond. It looks like the rumors were just that—rumors."

"I told you! No way someone could beat a mentor in a swordsmanship competition. It's impossible."

A small group of well-dressed noble students observed from a corner, shaking their heads in disappointment at Luciel's lack of response.
