Chapter 5 - "First Day, First Encounter?"

The morning air was crisp and fresh, carrying the scent of autumn and roasted coffee. Haneul pulled her coat tighter around her shoulders as she walked down the quiet street, the early hour leaving the roads mostly empty.

Today was her first day as the personal secretary to Hyeon Group's newly appointed CEO.

And she still had no idea who he was.

She sighed, adjusting the sleeves of her sleek black dress. The outfit was nothing short of perfection—a fitted yet professional black ensemble that hugged her figure just right. Paired with stiletto heels, soft waves cascading down her back, and subtle yet striking makeup, she looked like a woman who meant business.

She wasn't trying to impress anyone—this was just who she was.

But if any guy saw her now, they'd probably fall at her feet.

She checked her watch. Still early.

With time to spare, she turned into her favorite café, the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee wrapping around her like a warm embrace. The bell above the door chimed softly as she stepped inside.

"Good morning, Miss Seo! The usual?" The barista greeted her with a cheerful smile.

Haneul nodded. "Hot cappuccino, please."

The place was peaceful—just the way she liked it. She found a corner table by the window, set her purse down, and leaned back against the chair, letting out a small breath.

Who exactly was this so-called CEO?

All she had heard were rumors—perfectionist, ruthless, intimidating. Some employees were terrified of him. Others were practically obsessed, whispering about how he was an untouchable god of a man.

She scoffed at the thought.

"Tch. What's with people treating him like royalty?" she muttered to herself, crossing her arms. "He's just a CEO, not some divine being."

But deep inside, she couldn't shake the uneasy feeling curling in her chest.

What if this job wasn't just difficult? What if it was hell?

As she waited for her coffee, she had no idea that the very man she was dreading…

Was already in the same café.

And he had already noticed her.
