Lin Fan ate vibranium in front of Psylocke—not just to intimidate the mutant beauty before him, but also to test whether its legendary hardness could pose any threat to him.
As expected, it couldn't.
In the Marvel universe, four metals are particularly famous. The one Lin Fan just consumed was vibranium. The other three are:
Adamantium – Known for Wolverine's indestructible skeleton.
Uru metal – The material used to forge Thor's hammer.
Carbonadium– Used to forge Deadpool's twin swords, said to suppress regenerative powers.
For Lin Fan—who could devour an entire planet if he wanted—vibranium merely served as a small energy snack.
Psylocke, stunned by what she just witnessed, finally reacted.
> "Oh my God, do you even realize what you just did?"
"You... You just ate ten million dollars' worth of vibranium in one bite. Are you crazy?"
Strangely, her concern wasn't the act itself, but the cost.
> "So, you care about the money?" Lin Fan asked, amused.
> "Who doesn't?" she snapped. "I'm a mercenary. I help people solve their problems—for a price!"
Psylocke gritted her teeth, clearly frustrated, but she knew deep down that she stood no chance against someone like him. Her only hope was that this powerful man wasn't actually evil.
By this point, Lin Fan had figured out her background. She was clearly a rogue mutant, not aligned with any organization. As for the vibranium, it was clearly obtained through… less-than-legal means.
> "What year is it? Where are we? And where did you get the vibranium?" Lin Fan asked, calmly.
"Answer those three questions, and you can have your stuff back."
Psylocke's expression twisted in confusion. The questions were odd, but refusal wasn't an option.
> "It's 2012. We're in downtown San Francisco. I stole the vibranium from the Hellfire Club," she admitted.
2012?
That was the year Loki invaded Earth with the Chitauri army—the year the Avengers were born.
And then there was the Hellfire Club…
Lin Fan smiled knowingly.
The Hellfire Club wasn't just any mutant faction—it was secretive, powerful, and elite. While the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants were well-known, the Hellfire Club operated differently. Only the strongest mutants could join, and their influence dated back centuries.
According to past lore, Dark Phoenix was once a member. Even Magneto had been part of the club under the title White King, following the downfall of the previous Black King, whom he and Professor X defeated.
But that was decades ago.
> "Tell me—who leads the Hellfire Club now? Is it still the White King?" Lin Fan asked, casually tossing the remaining vibranium back to her.
Vibranium no longer held any interest for him.
Psylocke, surprised by his gesture, became more cooperative.
> " Are you sure you are an alien or just a mutant with pink skin…You really know a lot even about the White King. But he left ten years ago," she replied. "Now the leader of the Hellfire Club is—"
Before she could finish, a deep, rough voice echoed from the distance, cutting her off.
> "If you want to know, why not come ask us yourself?"
