Chapter 50 - The End of an Era

Chapter 50: The End of an Era

The Battlefield Falls Silent

The night was thick with the scent of blood and steel. Tenshi's lifeless body lay motionless on the ground, his once-smug smirk frozen in death. The battlefield that had once roared with war was now eerily quiet, save for the shallow breathing of the survivors.

Kim Han stood in the center, his sword dripping with the last remnants of Tenshi's life. His body bore the marks of the fight—cuts, bruises, but his expression remained cold.

Daijin, barely standing, wiped the blood from his lips and turned to look at Kim Han. "You actually did it." His voice was hoarse, filled with exhaustion.

Kim Han didn't respond immediately. Instead, he gazed down at Tenshi, his dark eyes unreadable. Then, he turned to Daijin. "As I promised."

Yeon stepped forward, standing over Tenshi's corpse. Her face was devoid of emotion, but her hands trembled slightly. For so long, she had been part of this war. Now, the man who had once controlled her fate was nothing but a bloodied husk.

She whispered something under her breath, too low for anyone to hear, before stepping away.

The Aftermath

The battlefield was littered with bodies—both Tenshi's soldiers and those who had fought against him. The Kisaragi warriors, what remained of them, looked to Raizo. Their leader was injured, but he stood tall. "We rebuild," he said simply, his voice carrying over the silence.

Daijin's group was battered, but alive.

Taro, clutching his injured arm, smirked. "Well… that was a mess."

Mikasa let out a dry laugh. "At least we're still breathing."

Kim Han's eyes drifted toward Aya, who had been silent through it all. She was watching him, her black eyes reflecting the carnage around them. With a slight nod, she acknowledged the victory.

Kim Han & Daijin's Final Conversation

As the bodies were collected and the fires of battle began to die down, Daijin approached Kim Han.

"So… what now?"

Kim Han sheathed his sword. "This was just one battle. It won't be the last."

Daijin exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "You know, you're a real pain in the ass. But I won't forget this."

Kim Han met his gaze. "If you ever need me again, you know where to find me."

There was a brief pause, then Daijin smirked. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

The Departure

With the battle over, Kim Han and his team began to walk away, disappearing into the shadows of the ruined battlefield. The sun had begun to rise, casting an eerie glow over the bloodstained ground.

Daijin watched them go, his grip tightening around his sword. He knew this wasn't truly the end. Another war would come. Another enemy would rise.

But for now, they had won.

Or so they thought.

A Shadow in the Distance

As the survivors tended to their wounds, a lone figure stood atop a hill, watching the battlefield from afar. Their face was obscured, but their presence was undeniable.

A slow, amused chuckle escaped their lips.

"Interesting… very interesting."

And with that, they turned and vanished into the mist.
