"We really did feed him to the crown prince, your grace. We swear it. You know we'd never ever disobey your command." The second one breathed out this time as he fell on his knees. The grand king was still angry, but at least his jaw wasn't being clenched so tightly anymore.
"I think we should ask him for an explanation then." The first messenger announced, then all attention was on me in the next moment. I instantly stiffened, heart lurching into my throat as I blinked at the three of them.
"Care to explain? How are you still alive? And if you dare lie, consider yourself dead." The grand king spoke this time and I flinched at the last part of his sentence, feeling my heart growing heavy and slowing down, and I was more scared right now because I knew he wasn't bluffing.
"I- I don't know how I survived." I revealed and the three men regarded me like I had suddenly gone stupid.
