Chapter 4 - The Omega's Humiliation

Professor Kim Taehyung sat at his desk in his private office, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding in the cafeteria.

His fingers glided over the keyboard, organizing lecture notes, reviewing research papers, and planning for his next class.

The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the room, mingling with the natural dominance of his Alpha pheromones.

He was calm. Focused.

Blissfully unaware that his Omega was in trouble.

The cafeteria was bustling with energy, laughter echoing from various groups of students gathered around tables.

Jungkook, however, sat alone.

In the farthest corner, away from the noise, he flipped through his notebook, silently reviewing his notes while nibbling at his untouched lunch.

He didn't mind the solitude.

It was easier this way.

No whispers. No jealous stares. No one constantly reminding him that he was an Omega in an Alpha-dominated world.

Pulling his hoodie up slightly, he adjusted his AirPods, drowning out the cafeteria noise with soft background music.

But just as he settled into his peaceful routine—

A scent hit him.

Sweet, artificial, but sharp with something malicious.

Jungkook's grip on his pen tightened.

He knew that scent.

Mia.

A group of popular Omegas and Betas, led by Mia, strutted into the cafeteria like they owned it.

Their laughter was loud, exaggerated—a warning of what was coming.

Mia's eyes gleamed the moment she spotted Jungkook sitting alone.

"Look who we have here—the little overachiever, acting like he's too good for the rest ofus."

Her voice was mockingly sweet, dripping with artificial charm.

Jungkook didn't react.

Didn't even look up.

He simply turned a page in his notebook, acting as if she didn't exist.

But Mia wasn't the type to be ignored.

"Still sitting alone, huh?" Mia continued, stepping closer. "No Alpha to claim you yet?"

The group behind her giggled, watching intently, waiting for a reaction.

Jungkook bit the inside of his cheek, forcing himself to stay composed.

"What's wrong, Jungkook? Too busy studying to make friends?" Mia taunted, arms crossed. "Or maybe no one wants to deal with an Omega who acts like a Beta?"

The words stung.

Not because they were true—but because Jungkook had heard them before.

A thousand times before.

Still, he refused to acknowledge her.

Mia, however, had no patience for silence.

Her fingers twitched at her side—a sign of frustration.

And then, with a wicked smirk, she grabbed Jungkook's tray.

Before he could react—

Cold food splattered onto his head, dripping down his hair, onto his clothes.

The cafeteria fell .deathly silent.

For a moment, Jungkook didn't move.

He could feel it—the weight of their stares, the laughter bubbling from Mia's group, the warmth of humiliation creeping up his skin.

His chest tightened painfully.

Not here. Not in front of everyone.

"Oops," Sarah, one of Mia's friends, giggled. "Looks like you've got a new hairstyle, Jungkook!"

More laughter.

More whispers.

Jungkook's hands trembled under the table, his Omega instincts screaming at him to flee.

Then—

A sharp tug at his hair.

Jungkook flinched, gasping softly.

Jess, another one of Mia's lackeys, yanked his hair back slightly, leaning in with a sickly sweet smile.

"Aw, what's wrong? Can't take a little fun?"

Jungkook's breath hitched.

His Omega instincts surged—a need for protection, for comfort, for safety.

But there was no Alpha to help him.

No one to stop them.

His chest ached.

And just as he felt himself about to break—

A new scent cutthrough the air like a blade.

Strong. Steady. Protective.

"Mia. That's enough."

Jungkook's breath caught.

The voice was deep. Calm. Dangerous.

Cha Eunwoo.

Jungkook looked up, eyes wide as Eunwoo stepped between him and Mia's group.

Tall, broad-shouldered, and effortlessly composed, his presence alone was enough to shift the balance.

Mia's smirk faltered.

"What's it to you, Eunwoo?" Mia scoffed, crossing her arms. "This doesn't concern you."

Eunwoo's eyes darkened.

"It does when you're acting like a pack of immature pups," he said coolly. "Bullying an Omega isn't exactly a good look."

The cafeteria was completely silent.

Mia's friends shifted uncomfortably.

Jungkook stayed frozen, barely breathing.

"Backoff," Eunwoo warned, voice steady. "You're not impressing anyone with this."

For the first time, uncertainty flickered in Mia's eyes.

She glanced at her friends, who suddenly looked less confident.

Finally, with a frustrated sigh, she tossed her hair over her shoulder.

"Fine. But don't think this is over, Jungkook."

With one last glare, Mia and her group turned and walked away.

Jungkook released a shaky breath.

His hands were still trembling.

His clothes were still ruined.

But at least—at least they were gone.

Eunwoo sighed, then pulled out a chair across from him.

"Are you okay?"

Jungkook nodded, still trying to catch his breath.

"I'm fine… just a bit overwhelmed."

Eunwoo's lips pressed into a thin line.

"You shouldn't let them get to you." His voice softened slightly. "You're better than that."

Jungkook exhaled, feeling the weight on his chest lessen just a little.

Eunwoo tilted his head, then smirked.

"Want to review your notes together?"

Jungkook hesitated.

Then, slowly, he nodded.

"Yeah… I'd like that."

Despite the humiliation, despite everything—

He wasn't completely alone.
