Crackle.
With a rumbling sound, Kain pushed back the lid of the coffin, his muscles tensed, and his face flushed. This was harder than he'd thought.
'Fuuuck! It's like I'm moving a mountain!' He complained inwardly as he made one last push.
A stale odor with a gust of dust met him.
*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*
Brushing the smoke away, Kain's eyes fell upon the dried corpse of an unknown man. It wasn't a skeleton, more like a mummy with skin stretched over muscles.
An old, broken crown rested on the man's head, indicating his long-ago status. Then, Kain's eyes traveled to the stone ring hanging from the king's neck.
'Well, if it's supposed to be a reward, it's this ring, isn't it?' Kain raised an eyebrow, carefully pulling the ring off.
Deep inside, he was nervous, expecting the corpse to come to life now and attack him or something, but nothing happened.
The comet wasn't supposed to crash here, at least not on this run.
