Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Slum Rat of Velmire

In the slums of Velmire, where sickness festered and the strong devoured the weak, a boy named Aedric was born. His mother, a weaver who barely made enough to feed them, whispered tales of a lost empire where magic was boundless, and emperors ruled with divine power. His father was unknown, rumored to be a wandering sorcerer who vanished after a single night.

But fate was cruel. At the age of eight, Aedric's mother succumbed to the Bloodrot Plague, leaving him to fend for himself. Hunger and desperation taught him to steal, to fight, to survive. Yet, within him burned an unyielding fire—the dream of rising beyond the filth of Velmire.

The Awakening: A Pact with the Forgotten God

One fateful night, Aedric attempted to steal from a dying beggar, only to realize the man was no ordinary vagrant. His eyes shimmered like molten gold, and his voice echoed with forgotten power.

"I am Orvakar, the Forsaken, the last god of a shattered age. Will you forge a new destiny, boy?"

With nothing to lose, Aedric accepted the god's dying Blessing of Dominion, awakening his dormant mana core. The pain was unbearable, as if the heavens themselves were rewriting his existence. When he awoke, the slum rats that had tormented him now cowered before him, their bodies instinctively recognizing his newfound presence.

His journey had begun.
