The newly emerged soul beast exuded no hostility; its aura was calm and tranquil, as if it were merely wandering through the sea.
"Mishel, do you recognize this soul beast?" Ye Wen whispered.
Mishel pondered. Jellyfish type soul beasts were widely spread across the ocean, but since jellyfish lacked a brain, they were often disregarded. She'd never seen such a massive one before. After some thought, she said uncertainly, "It might be a type called a Golden Light Jellyfish. Typically, these creatures only reach around a century in age, but with a size like this... it's hard to tell how many years it's been around."
"One hundred thousand years," Ah Yin stated with certainty. "And it's just recently crossed that threshold. I can sense an aura of tribulation forming around it; in a thousand years, it'll face its first heavenly trial."
Though puzzled by Ah Yin's confidence, Mishel didn't argue.
"So, what's the plan? Are we going to try and fight it?" Mishel asked, noting that the Golden Light Jellyfish was now consuming the body of the Multi Eyed Squid Emperor.
Ye Wen's gaze flickered with indecision. After a moment, he turned to Ah Yin and said, "Ah Yin, take Mishel and return to the academy. I'm going to hunt this hundred thousand year soul beast and obtain its soul bone."
Ah Yin's expression grew serious as she seemed to understand his intention. She nodded silently, unfurled her Blue Silver wings, and took Mishel far from the area so far that Mishel soon lost sight of Ye Wen altogether. Bewildered, Mishel wondered why such caution was necessary; they hadn't even gone to such lengths when facing the 200,000 year Squid Emperor.
But being a sharp witted member of the merfolk, Mishel suspected there was more going on than she was being told. Out of respect for Ye Wen's strength, however, she kept her thoughts to herself.
Alone above the ocean, Ye Wen fixed his gaze on the Golden Light Jellyfish. Though he preferred not to kill intelligent creatures, survival demanded it; nature's law of the strong preying on the weak remained absolute. When it came to what he needed, he wouldn't hesitate.
"You can't understand me," Ye Wen said softly, "but I still thank you for your soul ring, your soul bone, and your body." As he spoke, his hands began to form seals, his palms rotating against each other. Seven soul rings materialized around him, shining with an awe inspiring glow:
Yellow Purple Purple Purple Black Black Red!
With the emergence of the seventh ring, the seven rings began to resonate, fusing into a single massive red soul ring beneath him. Unlike the previous two gold striped rings, this one displayed three golden patterns, symbolizing a soul ring with 300,000 years of cultivation.
In the world of Douluo Continent, three extraordinary soul ring techniques exist. First is the Ring Fusion Technique used by Fire Dance of the Blazing Fire Academy during the early soul master tournament a technique that amplifies one's unique soul skills, though it comes with a lengthy charge time. The second is the Explosion Ring Technique of the HaoTian Sect, which pairs with the HaoTian Nine Absolutes for immense power but inflicts severe internal damage on the user. Finally, there's the Ring Devour Technique of the Agility Clan, which sacrifices existing soul rings to free up slots for stronger ones; however, it bears severe drawbacks, diminishing talent, as it did for Bai Chenxiang in the original series.
Of the three, Ye Wen only valued the Ring Fusion Technique, as the other two inflicted too much damage on the user. Initially, he planned to visit Blazing Fire Academy one day to learn the technique, but upon obtaining his seventh soul ring, he found that he'd instinctively grasped it.

With his command, the 300,000 year soul ring at his feet expanded to fill the sky. In that instant, heaven and earth seemed to transform.

Ye Wen opened his eyes, his three pupils now a radiant silver, and all secrets of the world seemed laid bare before him.
"I understand now. This is what my true martial spirit was meant to be," he murmured, reveling in the newfound comprehension of his abilities. Under the effects of his Martial Spirit Avatar, he gained complete knowledge of all his powers.
The purpose of his external soul bone became clear it granted him insight into a being's potential. But that wasn't all. Ye Wen's first six soul skills, initially intended as survival tactics, now underwent a profound transformation under the power of his Martial Spirit Avatar.
First Soul Skill: Domain of Life Originally meant to allow his martial spirit space to store living things, it had evolved into the Rule of Life. All living beings within the domain were now locked into visibility, incapable of hiding.
Second Soul Skill: Domain of Manifestation Once a means of evading detection, his shapeshifting ability now allowed him to manifest anything composed of atoms and molecules, meaning Ye Wen could now wield all elemental powers at their peak within his domain. He could also release his modified sixth skill, Overclocked Shatter, without risking backlash.
Third Soul Skill: Domain of Space Control Initially a workaround to extend his martial spirit's reach, this skill had evolved into a rule of spatial movement. Within his domain, Ye Wen could instantly teleport to any location at will.
Fourth Soul Skill: Inner Domain This skill had always been his ultimate safety net, allowing him to evade any non dimensional attacks. Now, under his domain, it transformed into the Rule of Inner and Outer Realms, creating two separate planes within his domain. As long as his Martial Spirit Avatar remained active, Ye Wen could freely move between reality and void, rendering him immune to physical attacks.
Fifth Soul Skill: Boundary of Space Originally a versatile defensive skill that complemented his Inner Domain, it now became the Rule of World Barriers. His domain gained an impenetrable boundary; in the world of Douluo, not even deities could easily tear through spatial walls, making it an inescapable prison.
Sixth Soul Skill: Domain of Atomic Severance With this skill's boost, he now possessed the power to sever all matter at the atomic level, nullifying any defenses his enemies could muster.
Altogether, these transformations meant that any opponent within Ye Wen's domain was as helpless as prey in a trap. They could do nothing but await their end.
With that, Ye Wen had ascended to invincibility.
