"Do you actually intend on removing them all?" the voice said to Kael.
"At what point in time did you turn a new leaf, Caster, god of mischief?" Kael remarked as he chewed.
"Mischief is not the same as mur—"
"You there!" Lucion's voice exploded. "State your business here!"
Ignoring Lucion, Kael continued to eat as though unable to hear anything at all.
"You were saying?" Kael said.
Beside Kael, a man lay against the snow on the roof, watching the sky with his hands behind his head.
"I will tell you as I have been telling you for the past five years, Kael. Do as you will, but remember that your cold heart could be the very reason you become what you hate most."
"I will believe so once I see it."
"I will not repeat myself again!" Lucion yelled, his right arm outstretched so his sword appeared from light and rested in his palm.
Gulping down his meal, Kael tossed the plate aside as he rose onto his feet. Fully erecting himself, Kael stretched his arms before twisting to the left and right so his waist made a snapping sound.
"Ahh, much better." Kael exhaled. Then, turning to the group of Crested and Non-Crested Arcanists, he still contemplated, before finally coming to a conclusion.
"I have decided," Kael said with a grin, then he outstretched an arm. In the second that followed, light engulfed his palm, trailing the shape of a sword. The light turned to steel, which Kael gripped and then held onto the long handle with both hands.
"Killing them all will be the best option," Kael added before leaping toward them.
The building he was seated on erupted behind him as he thundered toward Lucion.
Barely reacting in time, Lucion guarded with his sword. But once Kael's claymore made contact with that of Lucion's, his sword shattered.
Kael's claymore cut through Lucion from head to waist. But did not go further before a massive gust of wind exploded from the impact.
BOOM!
The wind erupted in every direction and everything that was caught within splattered into the wind.
The surrounding people, horses, Spector corpses, and buildings around Kael disintegrated. And the residual shockwave damaged more than half of the small town, leaving debris where houses and human architecture once were.
Kneeling with the tip of his sword against the ground, Kael was in the middle of an enormous crater created by him.
Grinning, Kael erected himself and pointed his gaze to the sky.
Taking in a breath of cold air, Kael outstretched his arms, feeling more alive than ever.
"A good start to a great day," Kael said.
Appearing beside Kael, Caster sat on the floor, one arm on his cheek.
"My stay on the roof of that Alchemy center was quite enjoyable," Caster complained.
Relinquishing his sword back into the safety of his bracelet, Kael pulled his cloak closer and pulled his hoody over his head as he scanned his surroundings. Or whatever was left of it.
"You complain about everything," Kael said as he continued to search.
"Because you always provide a reason for me to complain." Caster stretched, then fell on the ground.
Taking a couple of seconds more, Kael made sure no one was watching. And when he was sure of this, he made his way to Caster and squatted beside him.
"It should have been made known to you that someone as handsome as myself would be a handful." Kael smiled.
Caster laughed.
"Do not flatter yourself, I have seen toads more handsome than you are," Caster added and Kael chuckled.
Catching movement out of the corner of his eye, Kael could see someone approaching a few dozen meters away.
"I daresay it is high time we made our exit," Kael said as he rose onto his feet.
Considering a Weave, Kael settled on one that would perfectly suit his current needs.
"So soon?" Caster complained, the ground at this moment seemed very comforting to him. A shame he would have to depart once again.
With a sigh, he got onto his feet.
"What are we waiting for?" Caster asked, his blue eyes suddenly glowing.
Seeing the excitement in Caster's eyes, Kael couldn't help himself but to reflect said excitement.
It was finally time, after five long years, he was going back home.
"I do hope Uncle Johnathan will be excited to once again see me." Kael said just as he called forth his Arcana.
And before Caster could laugh at Kael's comment, an Arcane circle appeared beneath them. In the second that followed, Kael and Caster transformed into a faint light that dissolved into the glowing circle in the ground.
Then they vanished.
