Chapter 2 - PortBay

The sextuplets frequently visited the most popular moon of Sucar, where Theo often resided when he wasn't busy journeying through the stars or reveling in cherished moments with them on the tranquil planet Pinoicia.

Now, at seventeen, having flitted from one remarkable place to another since age four, their mother purchased a house in the picturesque bay of Port Bay, Saching—a location renowned for its cerulean waters and tranquil atmosphere, promising solace from their busy lives.

She offered them a thrilling journey to inspire the boy to embrace the idea of the solar system and go to the magical realm of Valerian, provided they committed to settling down for at least three years.

Alongside this incredible opportunity, she promised them a significant inheritance at eighteen instead of the usual wait until twenty-four-four.

All six eagerly accepted, their imaginations sparked by vivid dreams of Valerian and the opportunity to become true princes.

Two months later, in Port Bay, Saching.

"What the hell are we supposed to do here for the next three years?"

I grumble, frustration simmering beneath the surface of my words as I shift my weight from one foot to the other, watching the waves flirt playfully with the shoreline.

"Who knows, man, but Mom enrolled us in school, so at least there's that," River replies, his shoulders shrugging in resignation.

"You've got to be kidding! School is going to be the epitome of boredom," Jai groans dramatically, rolling his eyes, his exasperation palpable.

As the gravitron comes to a sudden halt, we rise, each grabbing our carry-ons.

The weight of our belongings reminds us of the transition we're undergoing.

We step onto the platform and navigate toward the tran station, and at that moment, I catch sight of our dad, Theo, proudly holding a sign emblazoned with our last name, Kransy.

"Dad, that's actually embarrassing—way too retro for us," River remarks, rolling his eyes in playful disdain, a half-smile creeping onto his lips.

I shoot River a knowing glance and nod in agreement, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Finn, the enthusiastic optimist of the group, happily embraces our dad, exclaiming, "I love it, Dad! It's classic!" His innocent joy rings out like music, lifting the mood.

"Dad, where are we staying? Did you and Mom stitch something special for us?"

Shiloh chimes in, his curiosity is evident in the eager spark lighting up his wide brown eyes, a hint of innocence peeking through his preteen facade.

"The deal just got a sweet upgrade, but only on one condition," Theo replies, casting a significant look around at us, his playful smirk hinting at grander plans.

"What's the catch?" Maverick leans forward, intrigued, the slight furrow in his brow betraying a mixture of excitement and skepticism.

"You'll have access to brand new ships, fresh off the assembly line, get to test all the cutting-edge products at Atticus's, and if you're inclined, you boys can start experimenting and launch your own unique ventures,"

Theo explains, his voice bubbling with excitement, each word painting a picture of endless possibilities.

"Whiioo!" Jai whistles with glee, his eyes sparkling. He joins Finn's ecstatic cheers, which seem to echo in the morning air and amplify the moment.

"Holy shit! Are you serious?!" River exclaims, disbelief and excitement dancing in his hazel eyes, his usual calm demeanor momentarily set aside.

"Hells, yes!" Shiloh yells, grinning ear to ear,, his enthusiasm infectious as the weight of opportunity slowly sinks in for all of us.

"This sounds too good to be true. Dad, what's the catch?" I interject, my skepticism rising like a tide, demanding clarity.

"Yeah, what do we have to do?" Finn adds, narrowing his eyes in thought, his analytical mind racing through the implications of such a grand offer.

"For the next three years, you all need to blend in with the normal rich folks and leave the spoiled prince act behind," Theo states, his voice firm yet jovial, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

"We are so not spoiled! Mom made sure of that," Jai protests with a playful pout, crossing his arms in mock indignation, bringing snickers amongst a few of us.

"Listen closely: You are only allowed two forms and one unique quirk or element related to your powers. And the golden rule? No showing off."

Theo lays down the law like the patriarch he is, his tone both commanding and loving.

I glance at my brothers, sensing the shift in our collective energy—we share the same unspoken understanding—this could be our chance to forge our own destinies.

"Do we need to make this decision right now?" Shiloh asks with a hint of caution, the weight of the potential decision not lost on him.

"No, you can sleep on it. Talk to your mom if you've got questions when we get back to the house; for now, you boys need to unpack," Theo assures us, his voice a calming presence amidst the whirlwind of emotions.

We pile into the sleek hover V-Ship, its polished exterior glinting in the sunlight as we set off toward our new home.

As I gaze out the window, PortBay unfolds before me—a charming blend of a bustling town and a quaint small city dotted with vibrant malls, eclectic boutiques, inviting diners, fast-food joints, and convenience stores.

My heart races with excitement as we veer out of the city limits, the anticipation growing with each passing moment.

We arrive at a stunning two-story Victorian house, its pearl façade gleaming in the sunlight, adorned with intricate woodwork that tells tales of days gone by.

The wrap-around porch, complete with rocking chairs, invites us in with open arms, and the large bay windows framed with teal shutters seem to welcome us with a friendly smile.

The house boasts an attic, a basement, a charming pool house, seven spacious bedrooms, and a four-car garage, offering us endless possibilities for adventure.

Once we disembark from the V-Ship, Mom waves us over to help unload the meticulously packed furniture and boxes.

By the time we finish, the clock nears midnight, and we reward ourselves with slices of hot, cheesy pizza, calling it a night in a pact of familial camaraderie.

I awaken the next morning to Finn shaking me vigorously, his enthusiasm an unyielding force. "I'm up, I'm up!" I grumble, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep that cling to me like a blanket.

"Come on! We're meeting on the beach to discuss the deal," he urges, his excitement palpable in the air, a spark that ignites the stillness of dawn.

"Seriously? This early?" I groan, still half-asleep, my mind fighting against the urge to succumb back to slumber.

"Stop complaining and hurry up," he insists, a grin plastered on his face that could rival the sun in brightness.

When I glance at the clock and see it's only five a.m., I bury my face in my pillow with a frustrated scream, feeling the pull of dreams still lingering.

Still unready to face the day, I hastily throw on the first clothes I can find—black and white Adidas shorts paired with a blue and grey turn-up sweater that hangs by my door like an old friend.

I trot down the stairs and out the back door, my bare feet meeting the soft, cool sand of the beach, a delightful contrast to the chill in the morning air.

Having a beach in our backyard is a luxury I can hardly believe; the thought of easy access to the shimmering sea exhilarates me.

As I make my way down, I spot my brothers sitting in a loose circle on the sand, just shy of the gentle surf.

Jai, with his mesmerizing sea blue-green eyes that seem to capture the essence of the ocean and a wild mass of curly hair—an intoxicating blend of black, brown, gold, tan, and blond—radiates an energy unlike any other, embodying the spirit of a surfer.

Standing tall, his long legs and broad shoulders speak of countless hours spent practicing in the waves.

Since he was six, he's been rising at the crack of dawn to catch waves, a testament to his boundless passion for the sea.

His striking looks and carefree charisma have garnered the admiration of many girls, all too eager to flirt with his effortless charm and boyish allure.

Maverick sits nearby, reflecting the relaxed vibe with his light brown, pink, and tan curls cropped closely to his head.

His hazel eyes sparkle, complemented by deep-set dimples that break into a warm, inviting smile, spreading a sense of peace among us.

With a swimmer's physique, coupled with an alternative athlete's style, he sports multiple earrings and a bold lip ring on the left—a distinct look that makes him effortlessly noticeable.
