Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Ability Update and New Skills

"What?! Kevin forged two magic swords?!"

Hearing the news brought back by Tsubaki, Hephaestus looked up in surprise, as if she had heard the most shocking thing this year.

"Yes, and it has the properties of 'poison', 'projectile', and 'indestructible'."

"Although it's a little weaker, it can at least be sold for 10 million Valis."

Tsubaki said as she observed the goddess's reaction, and couldn't help but smirk in her heart.

What she wanted to see was the goddess's surprised expression.

Hephaestus, who is known for her maturity and stability, rarely shows this expression.

"Are you sure it was his own work and not a treasure he accidentally found in the dungeon?"

"Probably not."

Tsubaki shook her head, her tone very certain.

"He knows his weapons very well, and more importantly..."

"If you picked it up by luck, there won't be a second sword exactly like it."

Hephaestus breathed a sigh of relief, and a look of relief immediately appeared on her face.

"It seems that our clan will have another popular master craftsman."

There are also many other family members who came to participate in the Molten Fire Festival today.

The news that Kevin could forge a magic sword would probably spread quickly throughout Orario.

"You think highly of him."

Tsubaki folded his arms, leaned against the wall, and spoke lazily.

"Then I will go and arrange a store for him in Babel Tower..."

"Etc."

After calling out to Tsubaki who was about to leave, Hephaestus hesitated for a moment and suddenly spoke.

"Before that, please make one more trip... and ask Kevin to come and see me."

Within a moment, there was a knock on the door outside the manager's room of the arena.

"My Lady Goddess, you are looking for me?"

"Yes, after all, Tsubaki brought back such explosive news."

Hephaestus looked at the boy whom she hadn't seen for a few days and felt a little strange.

Although he had only been away for two or three days, Kevin seemed to have acquired the sophistication of a seasoned adventurer.

However, the gaze he gave her was still as passionate and pure.

This made Hephaestus feel relieved and she spoke softly.

"Can I see the 'magic sword' you made?"

"Sure."

Kevin naturally would not refuse the goddess' request, and reached out to take out the grass sword from the inventory.

"Space props?"

Hephaestus was a little surprised, but not too shocked.

Items with spatial effects are just rare for mortals.

"Yes, please keep it a secret for me, goddess."

Kevin smiled and admitted it without hesitation.

He didn't have to hide much in front of Hephaestus.

"You are such a curious kid."

Hephaestus sighed, picking up the grass sword and examining it carefully.

The fingers, which had been worn through many times but were still smooth and slender, slowly stroked the emerald green sword.

The Goddess of Forging seemed to sense some kind of memory from it.

"Hmm...it's pretty much what I guessed."

After a brief silence, Hephaestus looked at Kevin.

"There is no doubt that this is a work of your own hands."

"In order to make this sword, you must have gone through a very dangerous adventure...even enough to endanger your life."

Can you see this too?

Kevin nodded subconsciously, waves of emotion rising in his heart.

He indeed went to explore the underground jungle area with the awareness that "the worst that can happen is that I die once".

Since you can be resurrected even if you die in Terraria, it is not too dangerous.

"But it's not wrong to say "life-threatening".

"Why are you trying so hard?"

The goddess asked half blamingly, half distressed.

"I would be very sad if you died."

"Don't worry, I won't die."

Kevin stared at Hephaestus with a determined look.

"I still want to create equipment that surpasses the goddess and gain your approval. How can I bear to die?"

"Oh..."

The boy's tone and words made Hephaestus smile with relief.

"Take off your clothes."

"...ah?"

Kevin was stunned for a moment and began to shy away.

"Um... Goddess, although I don't mind, aren't we moving too fast?"

"Shouldn't we start with a date?"

Then he was hit by a helpless knife from Hephaestus.

"I'm asking you to show your back so that you can update your ability values!"

"It seems that you have become much bolder recently. You even dare to tease me."

"Ahahaha...that's not true."

Kevin lay down obediently, but his mouth was not idle.

"It's only been three days since I received 'God's Grace'?"

"Is it necessary to update so frequently?"

He originally planned to only visit the goddess once a week or once a month to update.

"The acquisition of 'great achievements' has nothing to do with the length of time."

"It is possible that a moment of feat can achieve more great things than decades of hard work."

"When you made this sword, you must have already accumulated a lot of 'great deeds'."

"Let me see... huh?"

Kevin, who was curiously waiting for the update results, saw the goddess suddenly fell silent in the middle of her words, and felt like a thousand ants were crawling in his heart.

"Goddess, how is my ability value?"

After a few seconds, Hephaestus finally responded with a hint of confusion in her tone.

"The basic capabilities have improved somewhat overall, but not much."

"But there's a new skill added that I don't quite understand."

The so-called "ability value" is the various parameters generated by quantifying God's grace.

Contains basic abilities, development abilities, magic, and skills.

The adventurer's level registration indicates the overall strength of the adventurer.

Basic abilities are attributes such as strength, endurance, agility, and magic, which can reach a maximum of 999 points.

Development abilities are enhanced abilities that you gain when you level up, such as forging, magic, etc., which allow you to specialize in a certain area.

The acquisition of magic depends more on the adventurer's personal talent. Some people may never be able to master magic in their entire lives.

As for skills...it's not uncommon to acquire skills, and the effects of many skills are very similar.

From the types that have been confirmed, the effects of most skills are very general and easy to repeat.

Some skills have different names, but are actually just slightly different versions of other skills.

There are also some unique, rare and powerful skills, which are called "rare skills".

When seeing Kevin's newly acquired skills for the first time.

Hephaestus knew that this was definitely a "rare skill"!

However, its effect is somewhat... confusing.
