Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Awake & Questions

(POV MC)

Lucas looked around his bed and saw his light green bed sheets and pillows. Before long he reached under his pillow while yawning to grab a white chocolate bar he had hidden under his pillow.

He started eating it before looking around his room. His bed was in the middle of the room behind the window. All the walls were light blue and the floor was a light gray carpet, and the ceiling was gray.

To his right his dad with the bedroom door next to him. On his left, his mom sitting in his gaming chair next to his desktop gaming pc. Next to the pc laid his bookshelf full of fantasy books. In front of his bed was his closet which was full of his old and new toys his parents got him with his clothes.

"Mom, Dad you won't believe what happened in my dream last night. Oh ya why do I have this tube thing in my left arm with that metal pole thing and it's a weird empty plastic bag." I said while my eyes glowed from my emotions as a flood of words just kept coming out.

"Son you know we love you and you will always be my baby boy, but how much do y----," Mom said with an odd expression, but Dad interrupted her.

"Lucas, everything that happened in your dream was real. Just look at this, my boy." Dad said just before his hands were covered in black & blue flames.

Soon enough my eyes were wide open as I saw blue flames with a pitch-black outline around them... I turned to my mother only to see she had put on some weird glasses that had the very same flames upon them...

'Huh... I guess I'm still sleeping' I thought to myself before laying back down. But the moment my head met my pillow I heard my Dad once again.

"This isn't a dream Son, this is very real." Dad said as he hit me on my head for some reason.

"What the hell was that for man, my head freaking hurts now." I said that before I opened his eyes to look around.

'I can feel things in my dreams, but never this much, it's also never painful...' I thought as I started to connect the dots.

"Pain....pain...., so this isn't a dream right dad?" I asked as I kept looking around the room to find a hologram of some kind, but I didn't see any sort of projector...

"Grow up Son, why are you freaking out at the existence of this mundane stuff when you have so much to learn!" Dad said as he smiled and Mom started giggling with him.

3 hours later...

"So, are vampires real?" I asked once again just to confirm what I heard.

"Yes, Lucas, how many times do I need to tell you." Dad said as he looked toward Mom, but Mom only pointed to him before he looked back at me.

"What about ummm, werewolves?" I asked another question to see if that was real as well.

"Yes." Dad said as he looked down to the floor, as he no longer staring at me.

"Angels?" I ask while smiling this time.

"Angels and demons are real too, Lucas." He said as he summoned an apple in front of me.

"How did you do that?" I asked as my mouth was wide open.

"Magic space ring." Dad said in a hurry.

"Can I --" I tried to ask, but Dad interrupted me.

"Ask your Mom to Make you one when you're older. Your Mom made them. Yes, she knows magic..." Dad said, answering my questions before I even asked them.

"How di----." Yet the same thing happened again.

"You're easy to read son. Any more questions?" Dad asked while he was on his second apple by this point.

"Wow, Dad, what about the ummm, sea monsters?" I asked, trying to think of more monsters.

"Yes, most types of sea monsters are real." Dad said with a blank expression.

"How about those spirit things?" I replied as I was running out of questions to ask.

"Spirits come in many forms and types, but they are also real." Dad said with a serious tone as he looked at me once again.

"Mom, Dad said you are a witch, so magic is real too?" I said as I looked at Mom watching from the side as she sat on my bed while me and Dad were sitting on the floor.

"Is my baby boy curious about magic, don't worry I will teach you all about that later on." Mom said with a big smile.

*"WOW, THANKS MOM YOUR BEST PARENT EVER!"* I yelled as I got up to start jumping around.

"HEY, what about you dear old pops, aren't I the best parent ever too?" Dad asked, but I gave him a half-hearted answer.

"Umm, ya you are too dad, I mean ya dad you're the best!" I said with a smug grin.

'What does my wife have over me that our son would love her more? Stupid magic, I also have something special. Cursed energy is just as powerful I tell you.' James thought while he held back his tears at his sudden injustice.

"Dad, what about god or gods in general? If angels and demons are real then a god of sorts must be real?" I asked as I started to wonder if they were real just like all the other things Dad said were.

'Huh, he took the hint and realized it for himself after our afterlife talk an hour ago.' James thought to himself.

"Yes, gods are real! But, I'm not too sure about Jesus though... Most gods in all religions also exist, to my knowledge." Dad said as he had a serious look on his face.

'How can those other Gods be real when the trinity exists in Christianity? God is the only god out there, how can there be more... I'll ask more about that later. But, Dad really looks like a Viking though, and Mom looks just like her twin sister Aunty Gwen. Yet, why do I look like Mom instead of Dad... I'll hopefully get more manly when I'm older...' I thought as I remembered something else.

"So when you said every kind of monster with any sort of mythical figure you could think of probably exists, you weren't kidding?" I said as I sat on the bed with Mom, looking down at Dad together as we were on the high ground.

Soon enough, Dad got up to stand and tower above me & Mom, as we still sat on the bed.

"I'm still surprised you remembered what I said two hours ago, son. But, ya they all exist, and don't ask why it just does, your father doesn't know it all." Dad replied as he looked down at us as he stood up and started stretching.

"Ok, but Dad, what about Bigfoot." I asked thinking of some silly legends I read about online.

"Maybe...., I'm not too sure about that one. It might be another type of monster that existed and gained the title of bigfoot." Dad said as he put his hand on his long beard, and kept stroking it up and down.

"Dad, this is getting confusing now." I asked as this was all getting to be a bit much for me.

" Don't worry boy, we all were like you when we started." Dad said as he & mom started to laugh for a short while.

"Dad, one more question everything we just talked about exists from monsters to literal gods of legend, and most supernatural creatures exist. What about aliens? Dad, what about the creatures from outside this world or those from space." I asked as my eyes grew wide from all the possibilities.

".... Son, stop it with all the crazy talk already. Aliens don't exist boy! I know that might sound insane with all the things I told you exist, but from what we can gather aliens probably don't exist." Dad said as he pointed to Mom who just nodded her head in agreement.

'I guess my old friend's dream of marrying an alien space princess from Star Wars died before it could sail.' I thought as I shed a tear for that poor dude at school.

"Mom, you said you and Dad were going to train me like you 3 hours ago, right?" I asked as I started to flex my muscles, but my parents covered their mouths and pointed to my arms for some reason.

"Yes, but rest up first we will train you tomorrow." Dad said with a muffled voice, as he was still covering his mouth just like Mom...

Mom said she was going to make dinner so left just a few minutes later. Dad got up with her to help her in any way he could or so he said, but why was he leaving in a hurry... I still had more questions to ask that just came to my mind.

'I can't wait for tomorrow man! Like just the wait alone is killing me... I guess my life has finally gotten interesting for once just like those books I read... I wonder... if my story was written out like a book would I be the main character?' I thought to myself before those thoughts were crushed as logic and reason came in for the save.

'Naaa, that's impossible. I don't even have a cheat-like power like those characters I read in the past. Where is my infinitely expanding harem of cardboard cutouts? Where is my endless army of idiotic mobs that seek my death? I'm not a regressor, reincarnator, transmigrator, nor do I even have a system or god by my side...

Yet, my life got the change it needed desperately. It doesn't mean I'm the center of the world or anything, but I'm loving these changes nonetheless! How arrogant do I have to be for that to be my thought process instantly?' I thought while calming myself down.

"Tomorrow is my time to shine! (Lucas The Heroic Archwizard/Magic Swordman) That shall be the name of my great novel, and a new chapter of my life has just started! I can't wait to learn magic and be a legendary wizard like those novels I read in the past." I said, alone in my room as I kept thinking of all the things I would do when I learned magic.
