The Pale Harpy returns from her scouting.
"Did you find anything?"
Preston says.
The Pale Harpy shakes her head. She did find something, but she can't speak it out, the symbol ingrained in her soul burns brightly if she even thinks about that.
"Pity. So it's only two Crises." Preston says.
Henry suddenly appears, his body blinking to the location at an insane speed.
"No other monsters around. All Hollows were massacred. The only thing left here is that thing."
Henry says.
"Great. Then we can proceed to kill it."
Preston gestures for one of his teammates to walk up.
"Analyze the Crisis, Anya."
Preston says.
The masked woman approaches. She kneels down for a more steady position and closes her eyes.
The Liberty Sons, a group of C-rank Awakeners, travels the world and hunts the most wanted fugitives for money.
Fugitives in Ranas aren't actually criminals, and some of the time they can be just enemies of one of the Three Giants of Ranas.
The Three Giants, the Hyperion Federation of Awakened, Vox Entertainment, and the Institution of Order.
Each rules aspects of Ranas and has its own allies and enemies.
Mercenaries like the Liberty Sons live off the money of the Three Giants to feed themselves and prosper.
However, the Liberty Sons were able to gather quite a good name for themselves as they only went after supervillains, Awakened, who were deemed to have committed unspeakable crimes.
Preston is the leader of the group. Anya, the masked woman, is the scout. Batrick, the muscle of the group. Leo, the marksman. And finally, Dastan, the assassin.
Each fulfills a special role in the group.
The truth is their powers are all mediocre. But with teamwork and dedication, the Liberty Sons has acquired admirable achievement and popularity.
The Pale Harpy, on the other hand, is a solo-working superhero. She is less famous than the Liberty Sons in the combat field.
However, she is rather popular on social media. One of the hot Awakened with a lot of followers.
Of course, what she has going for her is her beauty. She was even invited to join the Vox Cinematic Universe once but declined the offer.
The masked woman, Anya, has the superpower Deep Spyglass (C-rank).
It has two main abilities. One acts as a natural magnifying glass that can help Anya observe up to 200 meters distance as detailed as close up.
The second ability can help determine the approximate threat a being can have. It isn't precise and usually only provides a vague feeling to Anya.
If she shivers, it can kill her.
If she's indifferent, it is weak.
If all the heat washes away from her body and leaves her with cold feet, it can kill all the Liberty Sons.
Anya opens her eyes, her irises shine the shade of blue. She focuses her gaze on the Crisis and examines it.
The Quarterback gives her a cold feeling. A threat that can easily wipe them all out.
Based on Anya's experience, this Crisis will at least have a C3 and above power level.
"Well? What is it?" Batrick says.
Anya holds her gaze toward the Crisis for far too long before diverting her eyes away and says:
"It can kill us all."
"Shit."
Dastan says in a low tone.
"Don't fret."
Preston says.
"Anya's power is only assessing us versus it. We have the school president here and the Pale Harpy also. Our chance of winning is very high."
"Are you sure, Captain?"
Batrick says, measuring Henry up and down.
"A kid may not be that strong in a battle. Especially if he is inexperienced."
"Careful what you're saying, Batrick."
Preston glares at Batrick, shutting him up.
"This is Henry Colson of the Colson family. He has trained in combat all his life."
The Colson family, although not as notorious as the Three Giants, is still a formidable faction in Ranas. It holds a large portion of the market of the country and is located at the capital of Ranas.
Not many factions can exist in the capital without being crushed by the Three Giants. Unless they are strong enough.
"Well, I didn't know." Batrick smiles. "Excuse my doubt, Mr. Colson."
"Please, just call me Henry.
A voidgate can be a curse, but it also can be a blessing.
I believe we all want that Crisis Core. After the fight, my family can help dissect the Core so that we can split it evenly."
Henry says. He is the tallest in the group even though he is only sixteen. His shoulder is wide like a bear with gigantic palms the size of an adult head.
His face is square and stern. Muscles visibly stretch the clothes he's wearing, imposing an intimidating presence that none of the people here has.
Furthermore, the speed at which he has been moving is unfathomable.
Everyone here understands that in a one-on-one, he would have decimated them in a second.
They are all curious about his power, but no one dares to ask.
It must at least be a B-rank…
Everyone thinks the same. The Colson family's superpower has always been kept a secret.
No one knows what the power of their genes holds. But everyone knows the sheer power and strength each Colson can have.
"Wait a minute! Who is that?" Anya says.
Everyone looks over. In the stadium, a kid wearing sports clothing is approaching the Crisis.
"The boy must have a death wish." Batrick smirks and steps forward, intending to drag that stupid kid back.
Henry blinks in front of him and reaches out his hand, stopping Batrick in his tracks.
"What are you doing?"
"That is not one of our students."
Henry squints his eyes, trying to identify the stranger. And then it hits him.
"That's Blaze Singer, a former student of our school. But he shouldn't have any power in my memory."
"A trashy? He's probably just awakened then. Well, why are you stopping me?
Even though he may not be a student anymore, we can't just let the stupid boy kill himself."
Henry shakes his head and does not intend to explain further.
But Anya speaks up.
"That boy is not weak... At least he is as strong as the Crisis."
"You must be kidding."
The Pale Harpy is shaking profusely, but she tries her best to calm down.
She sees the kid again, the one who has enslaved her.
Blaze enters the stadium. He has noticed the others while scouting the area in darkness mode.
If he shows up wearing the Tattered Cloak. They will obviously attack him and prevent him from killing the Crisis.
Showing up as Blaze Singer, however, can prevent this.
To keep his identity a secret, Blaze won't be able to use the Tattered Cloak or the Destruction Wand, two of his strongest abilities.
However, he still has the Force Shocker and the Sun Bird. Neither has been seen by anyone else except the Pale Harpy.
He did use Force Blast in the fight with the Nocturnal Animals, but he doubts they saw it. Force Blast's appearance has also changed greatly, now a bright blue shock wave instead of the blue pulse as before.
It shouldn't be associated too much with the Force Blast the Wraith used.
It should be enough for Blaze to challenge the Quarterback.
Not only that, Blaze can also feel that the power inside the Sun Bird is recovered completely. He is now able to summon the Solar Armor again.
Blaze reaches out his hand, the golden Sun Bird appears.
The Quarterback turns toward Blaze.
It is gigantic and is almost three meters tall. Its head is small, human-sized. But his body is built like a tank with two cannon-sized arms.
"Come, you ugly bastard!"
Blaze raises the Sun Bird, ready to conquer the second Crisis.
