Within the harsh mountains of Mount Draegnor, the cold winds howled throughout the whole area, as Galen and his party members found themselves face-to-face with the mysterious group of adventures that had just appeared moments earlier.
Standing defiantly in front of the massive Nightmaw was a strange boy with a scar over his left eye, his back turned to his two companions. As he glanced at the impending horde of Frostclaws before turning to his party members.
"I'll take care of the big one," the boy said, motioning towards the Nightmaw. "You take care of the rest, Kael."
"Understood," Kael, answered, removing his hood revealing his demi-human features, his piercing blue colored eyes gleaming beneath striking black fur covering his body.
Moreover, without any hesitation, Kael launched himself forward, a blur of motion as he passed straight through Ronan and Galen, heading straight towards the oncoming horde of Frostclaws.
Both Galen and Thorne barely had any time to process what they saw. Kael moved with incredible speed, closing the distance between him and the horde of Frostclaws. As one of the Frostclaws lunged itself towards his directions, its claws outstretched.
In that moment, Kael tightly clenched his fist and with a single, devastating punch, he drove it into the creature's chest. The force of the attack killed the beast instantly, sending it crashing into the snow.
However, before its body could even hit the ground, more Frostclaws were already upon him. In addition, without missing a beat, Kael let out a fierce battle cry, "AARGH!" His movements fluid yet powerful, smashing through the beasts with brutal efficiency.
However, from the distance, Lyra watched the scene unfold in awe. "Incredible... but who are these people?" she wounded.
At that moment, the other member of the mysterious trio approached her; Lyra kneeled beside Raine's badly injured body. "She's in really bad shape, isn't she?" The girl said, her blue eyes sharp yet compassionate.
Startled, Lyra stammered, "Huh? W-who are you?"
The girl then calmly knelt beside her, removing her hood, revealing her own demi-human features—white fur, different from Kael's, but much like Kael processed blue striking eyes. Her name was Sirius.
"She needs help, doesn't she?" Sirius asked gently.
"Y-Yes!" Lyra responded, her voice filled with desperation. "Please help her! I can barely stop the bleeding by myself, and I'm almost running out of mana... so please help!"
Sirius then gave her a nod. "Alright then, I'll get started." Without any further hesitation, she placed her hands over Raine's wounds, her magic flowing effortlessly.
As Sirius worked, Lyra watched in astonishment. "Her magic is so powerful... not to mention beautiful. She didn't even need an incantation," Lyra whispered in disbelief as the bleeding began to slow down.
However, their brief moment of respite was cut short as two Frostclaws suddenly descended upon them, claws bared, ready to strike.
"LOOK OUT!" Lyra cried.
Sirius, however, remained calm; not even looking up from Raine's wound. "Kael, could you please take care of them?"
And within an instant, Kael appeared right behind the Frostclaws. And with a swift, precise motion, he slashed through them, their bodies crumpling to the ground with a heavy thud.
Lyra gasped. "Where... where did he come from?" she wondered aloud, astonished by his speed.
Sirius, focused on healing, as she simply said, "I need you to give me some space, Kael."
"On it," Kael responded, as he leaped back into the fight, ensuring that no Frostclaws would reach them as Sirius continued on her work, her hands glowing with magic. She had nearly finished healing Raine, when she murmured, "This shouldn't take much longer..."
Meanwhile, the scared boy, stood alone before the towering Nightmaw. The beast, now missing its severed arm, glared down at him with pure hatred.
As the tension was thick in the air, as the boy met the Nightmaw's gaze, his body radiating with confidence.
The Nightmaw let out another thunderous roar, shaking the ground beneath them. The boy however, did not flinch an inch. Instead, a slight smile crossed his lips, gripping his bow tighter.
Both Thorne and Galen stood behind him, as they were about to witness a fierce battle. Thorne standing right beside Galen asked, "So what do you think going to happened." He wounded, as the tension grow thicker.
Galen filled with uncertainty responded, "Honestly I don't know. All I do know is that a fierce battle is about to begin."
In that moment, the battle between the mysterious boy and the colossal Nightmaw had begun.
