Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: A Sibling’s Bond and the Path Forward

A Nightmarish Awakening

Darkness loomed over a grand dining table, where the scent of something unsettling filled the air. The flickering candlelight barely illuminated the ominous scene. Bound by unseen restraints, Yoruichi struggled, her golden eyes darting around. Her breath hitched as she found herself placed atop a massive silver plate, her limbs bound like an offering for a feast.

Two figures loomed near the table, their forms an eerie contrast. One had the silhouette of a devil yet bore pristine white wings like an angel. The other, a monstrous entity, exuded an aura of insatiable hunger, its mouth curling unnaturally as if it could devour everything in existence.

Yoruichi's heartbeat pounded in her ears when another figure entered the scene. A shadowy presence seated itself at the head of the table. The two entities immediately bowed, their forms trembling with reverence. The shadow leaned forward, revealing its face—

Her breath caught in her throat. It was a face she knew.

Just as the shadow opened its mouth, sharp fangs gleaming—

Yoruichi jolted awake.

Sweat clung to her skin, her breathing erratic. Her chest rose and fell in rapid succession as she tried to gather herself. But something was wrong. That feeling—of being devoured—it hadn't disappeared.

A soft sound reached her ears.

Chomp. Chew. Chomp.

A warmth pressed against her cheek. Yoruichi turned her head ever so slightly and found Anos.

Her little brother, blissfully asleep, was chewing on her cheek like it was his favorite candy.

A twitch formed at the corner of her eye. "Oi… you little—"

Anos smacked his lips in his sleep, completely unaware of the storm about to be unleashed upon him.

A deep sigh left Yoruichi's lips, the tension in her body loosening. Her hand moved to his head, fingers threading through his hair. A small smile curved her lips as she whispered, "Idiot."

She continued stroking his hair, her fingers moving gently over his scalp. After a moment, she poked his cheek with a finger, her voice dropping into a playful yet exasperated tone. "I love you. I love you. I love you, love you, love you, looooove you—"

Her voice elongated, dragging out the words in a sing-song manner before ending with a cheeky, "Idiot."

Anos stirred slightly in his sleep, making her pause. She instinctively hid her face, peeking out moments later to find him still lost in his dreams. Letting out a relieved breath, Yoruichi smirked.

"Well then… time to wake you up, little shrimp."

The Ultimate Wake-Up Call

With a flicker of movement, Yoruichi flash-stepped, grabbing Anos before he could even react in his half-asleep state. The next moment, they were in the bathroom, Anos still in a daze.

His half-lidded eyes barely registered his surroundings. "Huh?"

A toothbrush was shoved into his mouth before he could comprehend what was happening.

"Come on, little bro, time to brush those teeth. No more chewing on your big sis in your sleep," Yoruichi said with a devilish grin.

Anos blinked sluggishly, still trapped in a dreamlike haze. "Mmmh?"

Then—

SPLASH!

A bucket of cold water hit him straight in the face.

"GAHH—!!"

Anos sputtered, his entire body jolting awake as the ice-cold sensation pierced through his grogginess. He gasped, eyes wide with betrayal.

"How dare you, BAKA SIS?!"

In retaliation, Anos flash-stepped, flipping their positions in an instant—

SPLASH!

This time, Yoruichi was the one who ended up in the bathtub, completely drenched.

Silence hung in the air.

A slow smirk formed on Anos' lips. He crossed his arms, standing triumphantly. "Ha! Got you back!"

Yoruichi wiped the water from her face, her golden eyes narrowing dangerously. "Oh? You think that was enough to best me?"

Anos took a step back.

Yoruichi cracked her knuckles, a predatory grin stretching across her face. "Let me show you why they call me the Flash Goddess."

Anos' expression dropped. "Oh, crap—"

And so, the battle began.

The Flash Goddess Strikes Back

Anos stood a short distance away, panting, his clothes slightly damp from their earlier scuffle. He had barely managed to put Yoruichi in the bathtub, thinking he had won. But now, he was starting to realize the terrible mistake he had made.

Dripping wet, Yoruichi slowly rose from the tub, water cascading down her form, her golden eyes gleaming with something dangerous. Her damp violet hair clung to her face, and yet—she was smiling.

A smile that sent a shiver down Anos' spine.

"Oh… little brother," she said, stepping out of the tub with unholy grace, her drenched clothes sticking to her skin. "Did you… just put me in the bathtub?"

Anos took a step back.

"Uhh… well, technically—"

He didn't get to finish.

BOOM.

She was gone.

A flicker. A gust of wind. A faint crackle of displaced air.

And then—

Flick!

"GAAAHH!" Anos stumbled, clutching his forehead. "What the hell!?"

Yoruichi stood behind him, her finger still extended, the remnants of her flick sending small shockwaves through his skull. She hadn't just flicked him—she had disappeared and reappeared in an instant.

Anos blinked. She was standing in front of him a second ago. How did she—?

Flick! Another hit—this time on his cheek.

"What the—?!"

Flick! Flick! Flick!

She was everywhere.

His instincts screamed at him to react, to dodge, to counter—but she was too fast.

Yoruichi's voice was playful, but behind it was sheer dominance. "Looks like someone forgot why they call me the Flash Goddess."

Anos gritted his teeth, flashing away to put some distance between them. His heart pounded. No way. This wasn't just speed—this was inhuman.

Yoruichi tilted her head playfully, rolling her shoulders as if warming up. "What's wrong, little bro? I thought you were playing video games all day? Are your fingers faster than your feet?"

Anos wiped his forehead. "You crazy cat…"

Yoruichi disappeared again—this time, he barely saw her move.

"Crap—"

Flick! Right on his nose.

"GAAAHH! STOP!" Anos held his nose, his eyes watering.

Yoruichi stood before him, arms crossed, smirking. "Oh? Does the little shrimp surrender already?"

Anos exhaled sharply.

He knew he had one chance.

One move so deadly, so divine, even Yoruichi couldn't stop it.

He lowered his head. His lips trembled. His eyes widened—

And then, with all his might, he unleashed it.

The Ultimate Move.

Sad Baby Face Mode.

Yoruichi froze.

The flick she was about to unleash—stopped mid-air.

"…No," she muttered, staring in horror.

Anos sniffled. His big golden eyes shimmered with unspeakable sadness. His lips trembled like a lost puppy.

His entire existence radiated pure, unfiltered sorrow.

Yoruichi took a step back. "You wouldn't dare."

Anos sniffed again. "B-but, big sis… why are you so mean to me…?"

Yoruichi visibly struggled. Her fingers twitched. Her body froze.

She was paralyzed.

The Flash Goddess—defeated.

By a single, deadly sad face.

Anos, still holding his god-tier expression, watched as she lost her balance. The attack was too powerful.

THUD!

Yoruichi fell straight onto her back.

A moment of silence.

Then—

"…Did I just win?"

Anos blinked.

He won.

He actually won.

A dark aura rose.

Before he could react, Yoruichi grabbed him from behind.

"Hey, little idiot brother of mine…" her voice was too sweet.

Anos froze. "W-What?"

"I'm gonna do exactly what you did in your sleep."

Anos blinked. "Huh?"

CHOMP.

She bit his cheek.

Anos screamed.

"AAAAAGHHH!"

Yoruichi chewed playfully. "Mmm. Not bad. Maybe I should do this more often."

Anos, now in total panic mode, flash-stepped away with everything he had. And escape from Yoruichi.

Yoruichi, still chewing, watched as he escaped.

Her golden eyes gleamed. "Hoh~?"

She wiped her mouth.

"…Looks like you're finally ready for training, little bro."

Training? Nah. I'm Out!

Anos stood in front of the door, panting, chest heaving. A small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Did I… outmatch her?"

A breeze brushed past his ear.

He froze.

Behind him—

"Looks like you're finally ready for your training," Yoruichi's voice rang out smoothly, a grin in her tone. "Let's start with ki—"

"Bakudō #5: Geki!"

A sudden red glow wrapped around Yoruichi's body, locking her arms and legs in place mid-sentence. Her eyes widened for a split second.

Anos spun around, pointing at her with the biggest, dumbest grin on his face. "Get real, idiot! I'm going to play."

He stuck out his tongue, threw a peace sign, and flash stepped away in a blink. "No way I'm doing your training right now, baka big sis!"

For a moment, there was silence in the hallway.

Then—

Yoruichi blinked, staring down at the faint red glow crackling around her arms.

"Did he just use Bakudō 5 on me?" she muttered. A small laugh escaped her lips, low and amused. "This little brat…"

Her spiritual pressure spiked, and the glow shattered like glass, the binding spell breaking effortlessly. She rolled her shoulders, cracked her knuckles, and crouched low like a predator ready to pounce.

"You better run, Anos," she grinned, her eyes gleaming with playful menace, "because I'm about to turn your playtime into hell."

In a flash of black lightning, she vanished—

—hot on his trail.

The Clone Trick and the Flash Shrimp

The morning sun warmed the back garden of the Shihōin estate, casting soft golden rays through the leaves. Dew sparkled on the grass, and a faint breeze danced across the stones as Anos casually strolled along the path behind the house, hands folded behind his head, a lazy grin on his face.

"Peace and chocolate," he mumbled, yawning. "Best combo in the morning."

ZAP!

A sudden spark of black lightning cracked through the air behind him.

"HEY, IDIOT!" Yoruichi's voice rang out as she grabbed the back of his collar. "You've got six days left before your Soul Reaper Academy entrance exam! You seriously think you can slack off now?"

But before she could drag him back—

A smug voice echoed from above.

"Yare yare… Are you sure you're holding the real me?"

Yoruichi blinked.

The "Anos" in her grip flickered—then vanished in a flash of light, leaving behind nothing but lingering spirit particles.

Her head snapped up.

There, perched high on a thick tree branch, was the real Anos, casually unwrapping a piece of chocolate with the most satisfied grin.

"Good morning to me," he said, popping it into his mouth.

Yoruichi stared, stunned for a moment—then slowly grinned, a proud, slightly wild look in her eyes.

"You little punk…" she muttered. "You pulled off a clean afterimage using flash steps… at your age?"

Anos tossed another chocolate piece into the air and caught it. "I mean, maybe you're just getting slow, old lady."

Her eye twitched.

"Oh yeah?" she grinned devilishly. "Then listen up, Flash Shrimp!"

Anos nearly choked. "Wait, what?! What kind of nickname is that?!"

Yoruichi burst into laughter, clapping a hand to her hip. "You think just 'cause you nailed one flashy move you're some master? Nah. You're still just a shrimp with speed."

"I'm not a shrimp!!" Anos barked from the branch, cheeks puffed in protest.

But by the time he finished pouting, she was already gone in a crackle of lightning.

His eyes widened. "Ah, crap—"

BOOM!

The tree branch exploded under the weight of her sudden arrival.

"TRAINING TIME, SHRIMP!"

"GYAAAH!!"

Big Sis Throws Hands

CRACK!

Yoruichi's kick landed squarely in Anos' chest, sending him flying through the garden like a ragdoll.

He bounced off the ground once—twice—before skidding to a dusty stop, coughing and gasping for air.

"GAH—! What the hell was that?!"

High above, standing where she'd launched the strike, Yoruichi cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders with a maniacal grin.

"Let the real fun begin."

She vanished.

Anos barely had time to blink before she reappeared in front of him—already mid-punch.

BAM!

He blocked with both arms, but the sheer force of it sent him flying again, tumbling into a small pile of training dummies.

"You call that a block?" Yoruichi laughed, flash stepping behind him before he could even recover. "Come on, Flash Shrimp! I've seen turtles with faster reflexes!"

Anos groaned, pushing himself up. "Can we go back to the part where I was eating chocolate in a tree?!"

"Nope." She grinned, crouching low into her Hakuda stance. "Time to earn your breakfast."

She charged again, fists blurring.

Anos fought back, trying to match her movements, throwing out kicks and counter-punches—but it was like fighting a storm. Every strike she threw had weight, precision, and experience behind it. And she wasn't holding back.

She couldn't afford to—not with the future he might face.

SMACK!

Another palm strike to his side sent him staggering. His breathing was ragged now, sweat dripping down his face.

But Yoruichi? She looked like she was just getting warmed up.

"Gasping already?" she teased, circling him like a cat. "You're not gonna pass the entrance exam by gasping dramatically and crying on the floor, you know."

Anos grit his teeth and charged, throwing a punch.

She caught it. Effortlessly.

Her smile widened.

"Cute."

BAM!

Another hit landed—this time square in his stomach. He stumbled back, but didn't fall.

"Y-You're seriously trying to kill me…" he coughed, holding his ribs.

Yoruichi leaned in close, voice low but fierce.

"No, I'm training you to survive."

Then she grinned again. "But hey, if you die from this, then I guess chocolate and flash tricks were your peak. Flash Shrimp style!"

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!!" Anos yelled—right before she lunged at him again.

Null Step: Flash Shrimp's Gambit

Anos was on the ropes.

His breath came in sharp, shallow bursts. Every muscle in his body ached. Yoruichi hadn't let up for a second, and he knew—if he didn't pull something insane now, he'd be eating dirt for the rest of the morning.

Another punch.

He barely blocked it. His legs shook.

Yoruichi stepped back, cracking her knuckles. "You've got spirit, I'll give you that. But you're done, Anos. Just give up before I actually knock you out cold."

Anos didn't answer.

He closed his eyes.

"Alright… just one shot."

He whispered something under his breath. His spiritual pressure… flickered. Then dipped. Then—

Vanished.

Yoruichi blinked.

"…What the—?"

Her eyes darted around. The world around her was dead silent—no wind, no footsteps, no trace of spiritual energy.

Anos was gone.

"That's impossible," she muttered, scanning every inch of the space. "He's not suppressing it. It's… like he doesn't exist."

She took a step back, instincts flaring. "Did he just erase his own spiritual presence?"

That's when—

"NOW!!"

He reappeared directly in front of her, bursting into existence like he'd never vanished. Time itself seemed to ripple as his fist launched forward.

He'd put everything—every ounce of energy he had left—into this one, desperate strike.

"RAAAAAAAAH!!"

CRACK!!

His punch slammed into her stomach.

Yoruichi barely managed to reinforce her guard with a split-second burst of spiritual pressure—but even then, the force of it sent her flying back several meters, skidding through the grass before landing on her feet, crouched and wide-eyed.

Dust settled. Silence returned.

Anos collapsed.

Face-first into the dirt.

He was smiling, breath wheezing, chest rising and falling in heavy gasps. His voice came out weak but full of pride.

"I… I won… I finally landed a hit on you, big sis…"

His eyes fluttered half-shut, still grinning.

Yoruichi stood across from him, one hand clutching her stomach, stunned. She wasn't even mad—she was confused.

"What… was that?" she murmured. "What did he just use? I didn't even feel his presence… not even a trace…"

Her expression shifted.

From confusion to curiosity… then slowly into a grin.

"What are you hiding, little brother?"

Null Existence & Unexpected Guests

Yoruichi stepped toward him, still rubbing her stomach.

"Alright, shrimp," she muttered. "What the hell was that?"

Anos, still lying flat on his back in the grass, grinned through heavy breaths. "That... was Mu Sonzai... my own move."

She raised a brow. "Mu… Sonzai?"

He nodded slowly, eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. "It means 'Null Existence.' I've been working on it… ever since I saw your flash steps up close."

He coughed a little, then continued, his voice raspier now.

"I studied how your steps blur the senses. I thought—what if I take that further? What if I could make myself... not even there for a second? No sound, no presence, not even spiritual pressure. Just nothing. Like I don't exist."

Yoruichi crossed her arms, staring at him with a mix of pride and disbelief.

"You created a whole new stealth technique… just from watching me fight?"

Anos nodded, eyes closing again. "It's not perfect yet. It eats up too much energy. But… it let me land a hit."

Yoruichi exhaled slowly, lips curling into a subtle smile.

"…Smart brat."

She turned away, giving him a moment of peace on the grass. "Alright. Rest up. You earned it."

As she walked toward the edge of the garden, still trying to process his explanation, she muttered under her breath:

"Null Existence... and he made that on his own? Just how far can he go?"

But her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed something ahead—two figures in white haori robes approaching the estate gates, followed by their lieutenants.

Yoruichi's eyes narrowed slightly.

Captain Byakuya Kuchiki of Squad 6, regal as ever, walked with calm authority. Beside him, Captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya of Squad 10 kept his arms folded, expression as frosty as his reputation. Trailing behind were their lieutenants—Renji Abarai, with his usual grin, and Rangiku Matsumoto, yawning but alert.

Byakuya stopped in front of Yoruichi, giving a subtle nod.

"Lady Shihōin."

Yoruichi nodded back. "To what do I owe the surprise visit?"

Hitsugaya stepped forward. "We received orders from Central 46… regarding your brother."

Yoruichi's smile faded, expression shifting to something more serious.

Byakuya spoke next. "We're here to help him. Specifically—to train him in spiritual pressure control."

Rangiku chimed in, her tone softer. "Apparently, his levels are unstable. There's a concern he might release a Bankai... without realizing it. Or accidentally collapse others nearby with a spiritual surge."

Renji smirked. "Guess you've been holding back a monster, huh?"

Yoruichi turned to glance back at Anos—still lying in the grass, still smiling, completely unaware of the powerful presence that had just arrived.

She gave a small sigh, then smirked.

"Tch. Great. Now the real chaos begins."

Flash Goddess Gets Tagged?!

Byakuya and Tōshirō stopped just a few feet away, their eyes landing on the boy lying in the grass.

Anos was flat on his back, chest rising and falling, a cocky little smile glued to his face like he'd just won a war.

Rangiku blinked. "Uhhh… is he okay?"

Renji stepped forward, scratching the back of his head. "Oye oye oye… don't tell me, Yoruichi-sama—you beat him so bad during training that he's forcing himself to smile in front of—"

Glare.

Yoruichi didn't even need to say a word.

Renji froze mid-sentence, sweat forming on his forehead. "Uhhh… never mind."

Yoruichi crossed her arms and gave him a look that could cut steel. "Do you really think I'd go all out like that on my baby? He's still a kid, Renji. Show some respect."

Renji chuckled nervously and backed off.

Rangiku leaned in, looking impressed. "So then… what's with that smug smile on his face?"

Hitsugaya looked at Yoruichi seriously. "From what we heard earlier, he used some sort of technique?"

Yoruichi nodded, gaze still fixed on her little brother. Her voice was softer now—but filled with pride.

"He landed a hit on me."

Everyone went silent.

"…Huh?" Rangiku blinked.

Even Byakuya's eyes twitched ever so slightly, while Tōshirō gave a full-on what-the-hell expression.

"Wait wait wait," Rangiku said, hands raised. "He landed a hit on you? The Flash Goddess?"

Renji's jaw hung open. "Yoruichi-sama got tagged?!"

Yoruichi smirked. "Tch. Just once. Don't rub it in."

They all turned toward Anos again—who was still grinning like a victorious gremlin in the grass.

Yoruichi continued. "He called it Mu Sonzai—'Null Existence.' A technique he made up himself, just from watching me move. It lets him vanish for a split second. Like he's not even there."

Tōshirō folded his arms, still trying to process it. "A technique like that… he developed it on his own?"

"Yep," Yoruichi said. "Wiped his own spiritual pressure clean, turned invisible to the senses… and came out of nowhere with that punch. I barely blocked it in time."

Even Byakuya spoke this time. "Impressive."

Rangiku looked down at Anos, who gave them a tired thumbs-up from the ground.

Renji leaned in, whispering, "He's gonna be terrifying in a few years…"

Yoruichi chuckled softly, her voice full of pride.

"He already is."

The Real Training Begins… or Not?

The captains and lieutenants approached Anos, who was still sprawled in the grass, trying to catch his breath. Yoruichi crouched beside him, patting his head gently.

Byakuya stepped forward, arms calmly at his sides. "Get up, Little Shihōin. We have others who will be assisting in your training now."

Tōshirō sighed and muttered, "Seriously… now we're babysitting a child?"

Anos cracked one eye open, and that trademark grin crept onto his face again.

"Says the guy who looks like the kid," he said with a mocking tone. "Didn't know they sent babies to babysit other babies these days, Shorty."

Rangiku immediately slapped a hand over her mouth, trying not to burst out laughing. Renji turned around and bit his lip hard, while even Byakuya's eye twitched at the tension forming between the two.

Tōshirō's icy aura flared just slightly. "What did you just—?!"

Yoruichi raised a hand to hold him back. "Don't bother. He lives off sarcasm and chaos."

Byakuya cleared his throat, regaining his composure. "That's enough. Little Shihōin, prepare yourself. We—"

But before he could finish, a sudden shift in the air stopped everyone.

Anos had vanished.

Gone.

No spiritual pressure. No sound. No trace.

"…What the hell?" Renji muttered.

Rangiku looked around frantically. "Did he just—?!"

Tōshirō narrowed his eyes. "He used it again. That Null Existence technique…"

Byakuya scanned the area silently, eyes sharp. "He escaped."

Yoruichi stood up, now both impressed and annoyed. "Tch… just when I thought he was too tired to move."

Everyone looked around.

No one knew where he went.

No one could even sense him.

Only his faint laughter lingered on the wind.

---

Where did Anos disappear to?

Did he run away from training?

Or is there something else he's sensing…?

And most importantly…

Can even the Gotei 13 catch the Little Shihōin now?

To be continued…

Within the Depths of Anos Shihōin's Soul

Silence.

Everything is black.

The kind of black that doesn't feel empty… but full—overflowing with things unseen.

A faint wind rustles through the void, like a whisper between dimensions. The air feels heavy, charged with something ancient.

Then—a ripple.

Light fractures the darkness like cracks in glass. Glowing embers drift upward, slow and ghostlike, illuminating the silhouette of a vast, surreal space: floating stone platforms, endless mist, and deep, bottomless shadows surrounding them.

In the center… a boy lies still.

Anos Shihōin, unconscious—his body flickering between physical form and pure reishi, as if he doesn't fully exist here.

Two towering figures stand above him, cloaked in shadow.

One sits on a cracked obsidian throne, posture regal, his glowing golden eyes calm yet piercing—like they see far into the future.

The other crouches nearby, hunched and monstrous, its body radiating chaotic, pulsing darkness, with glowing red eyes that burn like embers of a devouring flame.

Neither is fully visible.

But their presence is immense.

---

Regal Voice (calm, proud):

"So… you've done it."

"A technique born not from knowledge… but instinct. Creation. Vision."

The monstrous one lets out a soft, growling laugh.

---

Dark Voice (amused, rough):

"Hah… Look at him. Barely holding it together… and still, he managed to fool even her with that afterimage."

"Then used that little trick—Mu Sonzai."

"Null existence. He blinked right out of reality… for just a moment."

---

The regal one steps forward, gazing down at Anos.

Regal Voice (softly):

"He doesn't realize it yet… but every time he fights to protect… we awaken."

There's a moment of silence.

The wind picks up again, now carrying faint whispers—like distant voices or memories long buried.

---

Dark Voice (quietly, with a strange affection):

"He's still incomplete… but not for long."

"Soon, he'll hear us. Soon, he'll remember…"

The regal figure kneels slightly, lowering himself to Anos' level.

His voice is low, almost like a prayer:

---

Regal Voice:

"You carry more than you know…

The strength of a storm…

The hunger of the void…

The will of a king."

He stands again, eyes glowing brighter.

---

Both voices together (echoing through the soul):

"Soon… you will call us by name."

The darkness thickens.

The shadows pulse.

Anos' lips twitch into the faintest smile—unconscious, yet somehow… listening.
