Her eyes glowed even brighter, as she stared at Malcon. All she could see was darkness, not giving up, she looked deeper and deeper.
"HOW DEAR YOU"
"Arhhhh" she shouted, covering her left eyes as she fell to the ground. The last thing she saw was two huge glowing red eyes, then the next second all she felt was pain.
"What happened?" Eckhard asked, helping her stand to her feet.
"I don't know," Malcon replied, panicking as he assisted the old lady.
"Am fine" she snapped, her blood soaked hand covering her left eye.
Though the room was dark, Malcon could see a pool of blood from where she stood up from, her face was covered in blood.
Her body still slightly vibrated. She felt an aura she had never felt before in her very long life.
"Let me take a look," Eckhard ordered, as he moved her hand.
Malcon's eyes widened in surprise.
"Her…her eye…it's gone" Malcon stammered.
"I am very much capable of seeing Mr. Eden", Eckhard said, ironically.
'What happened?'Malcon asked himself. The last thing he remembered was the old lady looking into his eyes, and the next thing she shouted in pain.
'Was it related to the voice he heard during the duel?' He asked himself.
"I think we should take her to the medic" Malcon suggested, seeing that her left eye was gone, leaving a black wide hole behind.
"That won't be necessary," Eckhard said, stretching out his hand, and placing it on her left eye.
A green light slowly appeared on his hand as it made contact with her eye.
"Hey!, what's happening we are waiting under the sun"
"We'll be out soon, kids," Eckhard shouted, as he healed her eye.
"Here, done," He said, removing his hand from her eyes.
Slowly she opened her.
Malcon sighed, relieved. Her eyes were back, except it didn't have the purple glow like the right one did, but at least she had her eyes back.
"Much better" she said, continuously blinking as though testing out the eye.
"Eden" Eckhard called, "join with the others outside, I'll be with you shortly" he added.
"Okay," Malcon replied, leaving.
"What happened?" he had Eckhard say in a whisper as he left.
"What's Up…why were you guys taking so much time" Damian asked, obviously frustrated.
"Nothing much, but Eckhard is having a word with her now," Malcon replied.
"Sorry for keeping you all waiting" Eckhard apologized, as he walked out of the building.
"Now let's go get you guys a hostel, follow me" he commanded, smiling as he knew he wasn't forgiven for keeping them waiting, and if they had their way he should have been dead by now.
He led them to an even taller building, the interior structure was incredible. It reminded Malcon of the duel arena that Eckhard created.
The building went rectangular, leaving a small opening in the middle.
"How many floors is this building?" Bane asked, looking up, his face flushed in amazement.
"You guys are quite lucky to be one of the first to get here," Eckhard said, noticing how quiet the building was.
"In that case, go ahead and pick any room that suits your taste" he added, "two persons per room" he shouted as they all ran upstairs.
Malcon and Bane settled in room number two hundred. The room was quite spacious with three beds, and a reading table beside each bed.
"Why did sir Eckhard tell us two persons per room if they were three beds?" bane asked.
"Maybe he wanted us to meet new people," Malcon suggested. "Am tired, "Malcon complained as he fell to his bed, and like a baby he slept off.
Bane's eyes sprang open as he heard a sudden noise elude the building., Malcon on the other hand was still fast asleep.
"I pick this one, I pick this one" Bane heard a voice say outside his door. Pointing his hand to the door, sparks of lightning engulfed his finger.
The door slowly opened and an innocent looking boy walked in. He had black messy hair like Malcon and a well — curved oval face, his emerald green eyes widened as he saw Bane pointing his lightning covered finger at him.
"Sorry" Bane apologized, bringing down his hand.
For a while the guy stood there, then slowly he moved to the empty bed.
"You guys were fast" he said, noticing they were already done parking and one of them was already sleeping.
"Yes we got here before you guys" bane confessed, as he lay back down to return to his sleep.
"Then you guys didn't go through all the tests right?" he asked, curiosity taking the best of him.
"We did the magic orb thing" bane replied, "that the only one we did before coming here" he added nothing the boy was not satisfied.
"oh that nice…am Lucas by the way" he said, stretching out his hand for a shake.
"Bane ice," Bane replied, shaking his hand.
"I'll leave you to sleep then" Lucas said, arranging his stuff.
With his eyes still closed, Malcon stretched himself.
'I've never had a peaceful sleep without Bane disturbing me' Malcon said to himself, opening his eyes.
"Yo…" he called out for Bane but stopped as he noticed he wasn't on his bed, standing up, he went to the bathroom, but he wasn't there. That was when he noticed that someone had occupied the third bed.
'He probably went out with the guy' Malcon assumed, as he walked to the boy's table. It was well stacked with various books. Going through the books, the first three were mainly about hand-to-hand combat and human weak points, then how to cultivate.
The door to the room slowly opened and Bane and Lucas walked in, only to see Malcon still slapping.
"He sleeps a lot," Lucas commented.
"No…he should have been awake by now, I'll strike him" Bane suggested.
"That won't be necessary," Malcon said with his eyes still closed.
Lucas couldn't help but smile. 'They know each other too well,' he said to himself.
"Am Lucas" he said, extending his hand for a shake.
"Eden Malcon"
And they shook hands.
"Like the Eden family" Lucas asked, his eyes filled with amassment.
"Huh?" Malcon looked confused.
"Your ability must be shadow, right?" he asked.
"Yeah," malcon replied, still confused.
"Wooooo, I have an Eden in my room" he said excitedly, both Malcon and Bane stared at him blankly.
'This guy must be mad,' Malcon said to himself.
"What's the big deal about Eden?" Bane finally asked.
"The Eden family is one of the top three strongest families out of the seven families. Lucas explained.
Lucas statement brought back memories, as he suddenly remembered his dad telling him that he came from a special and powerful family.
"So what's your ability?" Bane asked Lucas, changing the topic as he noticed Malcon change of mood.
"I don't really know how to explain it, but I'll show you," he said, placing his hand on Bane's shoulder.
Slowly his body began to transform, and In less than five minutes there were two Banes in the room.
For a while Malcon stared at both of them, astonished. "Bane," he finally called out.
"Yes" they replied In unison, their voices very much similar.
"That's very cool," Malcon admitted.
"Yeah, but once I activate the ability I only have five minutes before I transform back" he confessed. " But it all depends on the level of the person I transformed to" he added.
"can you also do the person's ability" Malcon asked.
His eyes gave a sudden blue glow and a small spark of lightning slowly former on his hand, he looked a little like he was struggling. But slowly he formed an arrow and a bow using the lightning.
"Lightning magic is quite difficult to use" he confessed, letting the lighting disappear into thin air, "Am more specialized with fire, wind, or telepathy" he added.
"But I've never really tried shadow magic before."
He quickly touched Malcon hoping to transform into him, just then he felt it again, an uneasy feeling, and his heart beat gradually intensified.
"No," Malcon said sharply, brushing Lucas's hand off his shoulder with a swift, almost instinctive motion.
They were both surprised with his Malcon reacted.
"Sorry" he apologized.
"No it okay, I may have over stepped my boundary. The seven families can be very pridefully of their ability" he said, smiling.
Malcon didn't even understand what he was saying, but he was just glad that the boy wasn't angry with how he was turned down.
"I suggest we sleep" Lucas said yawning, "tomorrow will be a long day" he added, heading to his bed.
"good night" bane said lying down.
Malcon lay down on his bed, for a while he had been trying to sleep but for some reason he couldn't.
The image of the old lady who lost her eye, just by looking at him loomed into his mind, then the voice.
'Is it all linked up?' Malcon asked himself.
His eyes slowly grew heavy, he fought to keep them open, but they closed against his will.
Opening his eyes, he saw himself in the same room. The floor was damp beneath him, and the echoing drops of water wasn't comforting. The light was faint, barely enough to see, but with his ability, he moved forward, as he could see clearly in the dark.
Malcon's eyes widened in horror as he instinctively covered his nose. The thick stench of blood hung in midair. Stacks of skeletons were arranged like pyramids. A pool of blood coated the ground, casting a dull, crimson glow to the entire room.
"HELLO MALCON."
The voice was cold, inhuman, slicing through the silence of the room. Malcon felt his hearth drop into his stomach, as he looked up, tracing the voice.
"WE FINALLY MEET."
