The ocean reeked of blood and gunpowder. Tattered sails and shattered planks floated on the crimson-tainted waves, the remnants of the brutal battle that had taken place. Dead pirate and going-down debris floated in the wake of Solian's crew victory over Dagon the Crimson Reaver.
Their crew stood on their own vessel, breathless and battered but triumphant. The battered Crimson Reaver flagship, a float shell nearly sinking, smoldered on the horizon. There was smoke rising up into the sky, marking their triumph like a beacon for the entire sea to witness.
Solian wiped sweat and blood from his forehead, gasping for air. His body ached from the fight with Dagon, and the residual power of his Conqueror's Haki still glowed weakly around him. While he employed it in fury of combat, his control over it was far from masterful.
Jorin stepped ahead of him, adjusting his grip on his sword, the blade still smeared with red. "We did it," he growled, his voice tight.
Kael leaned back against the mast, a pleased grin on his bruised face. "Barely," he admitted. "That was one hell of a fight."
Vance knuckled his knuckles, flexing stiff shoulders. "Tch. We gotta get out of here. We made way too much noise, and I guarantee you, the Marines ain't far behind."
To confirm his words, the distant rumble of cannon fire boomed in from the horizon. Solian's gaze fixed on the direction, seeing three Marine warships steaming towards the area, their sails emblazoned with the unmistakable crest of the World Government.
"Shit," cursed Drayce. "They're coming to clean up the mess."
"We're leaving here," Solian ordered without delay. "Jorin, chart a course. Kael, check the sails. Drayce, go below and find out what we can salvage from the supplies we took."
No one protested. Smoothly, competently, the crew sprang into action, rushing to make their ship ready as fast as possible. Within minutes, the Scarlet Eclipse cut through the waves, leaving the battle behind as the Marines closed in.
A System Reward Like No Other
As they departed, Solian rested against the railing, exhaling slowly. The adrenaline was fading, replaced by fatigue.
That was when the system notification flashed before his eyes.
System Update: Great Victory Won!
You have killed a pirate captain worth more than 80,000,000 berries in bounty.
Reward: 10 System Points and a Green Summoning Ticket.
Solian's eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"A summoning ticket?" he snarled to himself.
Before he could even consider it further, another notification flashed, informing him what its use was.
Summoning Ticket System Unlocked!
Green Ticket: Summon a character of Low to Mid-Tier Strength from another world.
Blue Ticket: Summon a Mid to High-Level Strength character.
Purple Ticket: Summon an Elite Specialist or Warrior.
Gold Ticket: Summon a Legendary Figure.
Solian's heart pounded. This was huge. If the system could summon warriors from other worlds, then this was not just a benefit—it was a game-changer.
He tightened his grip on the Green Summoning Ticket that had appeared in his palm, the magical energy churning within it. He had no idea who—or what—this ticket would summon to his team, but one thing was for sure.
His life was about to change in a whole new way.
