Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 :Hu Mei Er & The Dance of Fire and Desire

"Chi chi…" The sound of sharp inhales echoed across the battlefield as Yang Kai strode forward, his presence commanding. The blood-soaked ground beneath his feet seemed to sizzle with each step, the remnants of the battle still lingering in the air.

Hu Mei Er, the infamous vixen of the Blood Group, shuddered despite herself. Gone was the playful arrogance she had worn earlier. Now, as Yang Kai approached, she found herself swallowing hard, forcing out a nervous laugh.

Her heart thumped wildly in her chest, a mix of fear and something far more intoxicating.

"I—I'm not with them," she stammered, attempting to regain control. "I belong to the Blood Group. And I never raised a hand against your High Heaven Pavilion's people."

Yang Kai stopped a few steps away, tilting his head slightly, his sharp gaze raking over her.

"Really." Yang Kai smiled meaningfully.

"En." When Hu Mei Er saw that she could still talk with this person, her heart calmed down.

Hu Mei Er nodded hastily, as if trying to convince herself as much as him. Then, as if flipping a switch, she exhaled slowly and allowed her lips to curve into a knowing smile. The fear in her eyes softened, replaced by a coy glimmer as she stepped closer.

"You are.....are such a powerful person." Picking up her courage, Hu Mei Er extended one green, green, white, jade-like hand and placed it on Kai Yang's stomach.

A few stray droplets of blood had splattered onto her pale skin, stark against its creamy softness. Instead of wiping them away like any normal person, she did something entirely different.

Bringing her finger to her lips, she parted them slightly, her pink tongue flicking out to taste the crimson stain.

The air around them grew heavier, charged with something unspeakable.

The way her lips wrapped around her finger—slow, teasing, suggestive—had every conscious male in the vicinity swallowing hard. Even those already weakened from battle felt a rush of heat course through them. Some barely managed to stay upright, while others simply gave up and collapsed.

Yang Kai's adam's apple bobbed.

Damn, this woman was dangerous.

"I wonder…" Hu Mei Er's voice was a sultry whisper, her tongue flicking against her lips as she looked at him through half-lidded eyes. "Are you this powerful in other places too?"

A deep chuckle rumbled in Yang Kai's chest. She was bold—too bold.

Instead of backing away, she took another step closer, the faint scent of jasmine and something undeniably feminine invading his senses. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she reached out, guiding his hand toward her body.

Then, in a move so smooth it almost seemed accidental, she placed his palm against her full, rounded chest.

Warmth. Softness. A tantalizing elasticity that pressed against his fingers.

Yang Kai's fingers instinctively twitched, feeling the well-defined peak beneath his palm. His pulse quickened, and his breath grew slightly uneven.

Hu Mei Er moaned softly at the contact, her lashes fluttering. "Mmm… what do you want to do with me?" she whispered, exhaling against his lips.

She thought she was in control.

She was wrong.

Yang Kai's eyes darkened with something unreadable. In one swift, dominant motion, he gripped her waist and pulled her flush against him.

A surprised gasp left Hu Mei Er's lips as she felt his firm body press into hers.

Yang Kai leaned in, his fingers tangling in her silky locks, twisting gently before giving a slight tug.

Her breath hitched.

"I should punish you for being so bold," he murmured, his voice low, teasing, filled with a promise of something she couldn't quite name.

Hu Mei Er shivered. For the first time, she wasn't leading the dance.

Then, without another word, Yang Kai closed the distance between them and kissed her.

Not a hesitant, testing kiss.

No.

This was deep. Consuming.

Possessive.

His lips molded against hers with purpose, his tongue slipping past her parted lips, claiming her mouth in a way that left no room for resistance. He was an invader, taking what he wanted, and Hu Mei Er found herself surrendering to the storm.

A shudder ran through her as he deepened the kiss, his fingers threading further into her hair, his grip tightening just enough to make her knees weak.

She whimpered softly, pressing herself against him as if trying to melt into his touch.

Her fingers curled into his robes, gripping him tightly as his mouth devoured hers. The world around them faded, the sounds of the battlefield drowned out by the pounding of her own heartbeat.

Yang Kai explored her mouth with slow, deliberate strokes, teasing her, pushing her, until she was left breathless.

Then, just as suddenly as he had taken control, he pulled away.

Hu Mei Er's lips were swollen, her breath uneven, her usually sharp gaze dazed. She stared at him, her chest rising and falling rapidly, struggling to process what had just happened.

Yang Kai smirked. "Interesting enough for you?"

Hu Mei Er blinked, her legs visibly unsteady.

Then, after a long pause, she let out a breathy laugh. "You… really are different."

Regaining some of her composure, she leaned in, her warm breath teasing his ear. "I'll be back for more."

Then, as if to prove a point, she chuckled and turned, her hips swaying with every calculated step, ensuring he watched her leave.

Yang Kai exhaled, shaking his head.

......................

After Hu Mei Er's departure, Yang Kai took a deep breath, steadying himself. The lingering taste of her lips was still fresh, but he pushed aside the distracting thoughts. There were more important matters at hand.

Turning his attention to the injured disciples of the High Heaven Pavilion, he quickly assessed their condition. Some were still dazed from the battle—others from Hu Mei Er's earlier seduction. Shaking his head, he moved swiftly, stabilizing their wounds and helping them to their feet.

"Can you stand?" he asked Su Mu, who had taken quite a beating earlier.

Su Mu groaned but managed a grin. "Barely. But damn, senior brother, what the hell was that back there? You really kissed her like—like—"

"Shut up and focus on getting out of here," Yang Kai interrupted, smacking Su Mu on the back of the head before helping him up.

One by one, he assisted the injured, ensuring they were all stable enough to move. Though drained from the fight, he channeled his remaining strength into securing their safety, double-checking that no one was left behind.

Once everyone was ready, they exchanged looks of gratitude.

"Senior brother, if you weren't here today…" one of them began, his voice filled with appreciation.

Yang Kai waved a hand dismissively. "Save the thanks. Just don't get yourselves into situations like this again."

Still, they bowed deeply, a silent acknowledgment of his strength and leadership.

With that, they set off, parting ways at a secure location.

.......................

Late at night, Yang Kai sat in his dimly lit room, trying to focus on cultivating. But no matter how hard he tried, his mind kept betraying him—pulling him back to her.

Hu Mei Er.

The way she had pressed against him, her fingers teasing along his chest, those sultry lips daring him to take more…

Yang Kai groaned, rubbing his face. Damn it.

Why was he thinking about that seductive little troublemaker? He should be meditating, strengthening his foundation, not replaying the way she had whispered in his ear, how her body had felt against his… how soft her lips had been when he finally took her mouth.

His face burned. This was ridiculous.

He shook his head violently, trying to banish the thoughts. But instead of disappearing, the memories only grew more vivid—the scent of her hair, the heat between them, the slight moan she had let out when he squeezed…

"Shit," he muttered, shifting uncomfortably.

This was not the mindset of a proper cultivator.

And yet, despite the shame creeping up his spine, despite knowing she was nothing but trouble…

He still wanted more.

Yang Kai exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. No. He had to push these thoughts aside. There were far more important things to focus on.

Determined, he lay back on his bed, closing his eyes.

But the moment he did, his mind conjured her again—those teasing lips, the way her body had molded against his, the heat of her breath on his skin.

His fingers twitched. His breathing slowed.

Damn woman.

Even in his own head, she refused to leave him alone.

A frustrated sigh left his lips, but the exhaustion of the day finally caught up to him. Slowly, the thoughts blurred, fading into the darkness of sleep.

Yet in his dreams, she was still there—smiling, whispering, tempting.

And somewhere in his slumbering mind… he didn't mind at all.
