Hu Jiao Er lightly laughed: "Actually, your words were correct, but there was one mistake."
"Which part?" Yang Kai asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hu Jiao Er didn't immediately answer. Instead, she waved her hand gracefully, and from the shadows, Hu Mei Er appeared. Yang Kai's eyes widened slightly. He had known Hu Jiao Er was strong, That was undoubtedly the power of a True Element Boundary expert.
Hu Mei Er, now free, let out a small sigh of relief. She had been holding her breath, half-afraid that her sister might get too angry and kill Yang Kai in a moment of fury. But looking at Hu Jiao Er now, she realized her sister was more amused than angry. That made her giggle softly.
Her elder sister had never met a man who dared to talk back to her, let alone someone bold enough to comment on her body so shamelessly.
"Older sister!" Hu Mei Er whined as she flung herself onto Hu Jiao Er's arm, hugging her tightly. "Don't be angry. This isn't his fault."
"Who said I was blaming him?" Hu Jiao Er smirked before turning her sharp gaze back to Yang Kai. "The point where you were wrong is this—Mei Er and I are not twins."
"You're not twins?" Yang Kai was genuinely surprised.
From what he could see, the two sisters looked completely identical. If he met them again separately, he wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
"No," Hu Jiao Er said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "I'm actually a few years older than Mei Er."
Yang Kai was silent for a moment before shaking his head with a chuckle. "The world really is full of surprises. Two sisters, born years apart, yet nearly identical. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes."
As he spoke, a thought suddenly crossed his mind. He had transmigrated into this world, something that should have been impossible. And yet, here he was. If that was possible… then what else cannot be?
Hu Jiao Er, seeing his astonishment, felt a little more satisfied. Finally, she had turned the tables on him a bit.
Then, she suddenly stepped forward, her expression turning serious. Standing just a step away from Yang Kai, her eyes locked onto his.
"Listen carefully," she said in a low, almost dangerous tone. "Mei Er has taken a liking to you. I don't know why, and frankly, I find it strange, but she's my little sister, and I treasure her above all else."
Yang Kai raised an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue.
"If you ever break her heart—if you ever make her cry because of you—I will make sure you regret it. You will see the full extent of my wrath," Hu Jiao Er warned, her voice unwavering. "You may be talented, you may be clever, but let me make one thing clear. In front of me, you are nothing more than an amusing little man. Do not cross this line."
Hu Mei Er blushed. "Sister, stop scaring him!" she said, pulling on Hu Jiao Er's sleeve.
Yang Kai, unfazed, simply smirked. "A fair warning," he said. "I'll keep it in mind."
Hu Jiao Er narrowed her eyes. "See that you do." Then, her expression softened, and she suddenly grinned. "Of course, if you treat my little sister well, then perhaps we won't be enemies."
Yang Kai chuckled, shaking his head. "I didn't realize I was signing a life-and-death contract just by talking to Mei Er."
"You are now," Hu Jiao Er said teasingly. "But don't worry, I won't be too harsh. Just a little… disciplinary action if necessary."
Yang Kai couldn't help but feel that this older sister was even more dangerous than he had initially thought.
After that, he and Hu Mei Er left, walking away from the room. Once they were gone, Hu Jiao Er stood still for a moment, then sighed.
Slowly, she reached back and ran her hands over her hips, gently massaging them. A small frown appeared on her face as she muttered to herself,
"How is one bigger than the other? They are clearly the same! That stinking brat was just speaking nonsense! Too hateful!"
She turned toward the window, watching as Yang Kai and her sister disappeared into the distance. A thoughtful look crossed her face.
...................................................
After leaving the bustling Black Wind Trade area, Yang Kai followed Hu Mei Er toward the northern side of the Black Wind Forest. The dense foliage above cast dappled shadows across their path, the air filled with the scent of fresh earth and rustling leaves. Hu Mei Er walked beside him, her steps light, an unmistakable happiness shining in her charming eyes. A faint blush dusted her cheeks, making her look even more alluring.
After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke. "That day, when Cheng Shao Feng and Niu Tao appeared, you stepped in front of me. Perhaps it was a subconscious action, but in the past few years, that was the first time someone sincerely wanted to protect me."
Yang Kai suddenly reached out, his fingers gently brushing against her wrist. Hu Mei Er stiffened, her breath catching. Before she could react, his grip tightened slightly, pulling her toward him.
"Yang Kai, what are—?" Her words were cut off as he leaned in, his lips capturing hers in a sudden yet deliberate kiss.
Her mind went blank. A rush of warmth spread through her body, her heart hammering wildly. The kiss was deep, lingering, not forceful but dominant enough to leave her breathless. A soft whimper escaped her lips as she instinctively leaned into him, her body betraying her rational thoughts.
The world around them faded, the rustling leaves and distant chirping of birds becoming mere background noise. His warmth surrounded her, his scent filling her senses. It was overwhelming—yet utterly intoxicating.
By the time Yang Kai finally pulled away, Hu Mei Er was left gasping, her cheeks flushed, her legs weak. She blinked up at him, her lips slightly parted, her eyes filled with an unfamiliar yearning.
"W-why… why did you do that?" she whispered breathlessly.
Yang Kai smirked slightly, his eyes dark with an unreadable emotion. "I felt like it," he answered simply.
Hu Mei Er's heart pounded even harder. She wasn't satisfied—not at all. That kiss had awakened something inside her, something she didn't quite understand yet. But one thing was clear: Yang Kai had left an imprint on her, one that wouldn't fade so easily.
Trying to regain her composure, she bit her lip and glared at him playfully. "You're really a scoundrel, Yang Kai."
He chuckled, stepping past her. "Let's go. Didn't you say there was something interesting ahead?"
Hu Mei Er stared after him, her fingers lightly brushing over her lips. A deep flush remained on her face as she hurried to follow, her thoughts in complete disarray. She had planned to bring him to the mining site—but now, that was the last thing on her mind.
Hu Mei Er's thoughts drifted back to their earlier conversation. She suddenly burst into laughter, tilting her head back as mirth bubbled from her lips. The carefree sound echoed in the silent forest, filling the air with lightness.
Yang Kai waiting for her to regain her composure.
After laughing for what seemed like a long time, Hu Mei Er finally wiped the corners of her eyes and turned to him with a playful smile. "I see you have great courage. There has never been a man who dared to speak to my older sister like that earlier ." Her eyes twinkled mischievously as she leaned in slightly. "Tell me… is it true that one is bigger than the other?"
Yang Kai coughed lightly, not expecting her to ask this. Then, in a more practical gesture, he leaned forward and gently touched his forehead against the back of her hand. The contact was brief but deliberate, a quiet reassurance that carried more weight than mere words. "It could be because of the clothes she was wearing," he replied smoothly. "You can tell her later not to worry about it."
Hu Mei Er giggled before suddenly pressing a hand against her chest, her cheeks heating up. "Then what about mine?" she asked boldly. "Are they… well proportioned?"
Yang Kai took a calm look at her, his eyes unwavering. "Not only are they well-proportioned, but they also have a smooth curve and a natural roundness," he said seriously. "Your figure is excellent; you have no need to sell yourself short."
Hu Mei Er's breath hitched, her face flushing deeper. His frank and sincere words sent a shiver down her spine, an unfamiliar but intoxicating feeling spreading through her. No man had ever praised her in such a direct yet natural way before. In that moment, she felt secretly pleased beyond measure.
Clearing her throat, she quickly changed the subject. "Over there," she pointed ahead, "there is a mine that our Blood Group discovered a few years back. We sent people to guard it and extract ores."
"What kind of ores?" Yang Kai asked, intrigued.
"Bright Yang Stones and Bright Yin Stones," Hu Mei Er explained. "It's odd, isn't it? These two stones should suppress each other, yet they exist together in the same vein. Even our elders found it strange, but after years of investigation, they haven't uncovered anything unusual. Regardless, this mine has earned our group a fortune."
"Interesting." Yang Kai stroked his chin thoughtfully. The Bright Yang Stone contained pure Yang energy, while the Bright Yin Stone held Yin energy—two opposing forces that should never coexist naturally. It was indeed strange.
