Chapter 31 - Containment Specialist Milestone

After activating SCP-668's ability, Loshu strolled into Level-3 with deep satisfaction.

Today had been a huge windfall—both Degradation Aura and Apathy Field were incredibly useful.

With these two abilities in hand, his survivability had skyrocketed.

As he wandered aimlessly through Level-3, he suddenly spotted a raging fire inside one of the containment units.

That wasn't unusual—there were at least four or five fires burning across Site-19 thanks to the invaders.

What really caught his eye were the tiny figures fighting the flames.

A group of living Lego minifigures, driving a blocky Lego firetruck, were diligently putting out the fire.

Living LEGOs!

The tiny plastic firefighters paid no attention to Loshu, their stiff limbs maneuvering the toy firetruck with eerie precision. The truly bizarre part? The Lego firetruck was actually extinguishing real flames.

But given their minuscule size, putting out the blaze wasn't easy.

So the little guys kept pulling more Lego bricks from a red container, assembling a second firetruck on the spot.

The firetruck was far larger than the container, yet the bricks inside seemed endless.

After watching curiously for a while, Loshu decided—he was containing these Living LEGOs.

He coveted their ability.

Ignoring the fire entirely, he scooped up the minifigures, the firetruck, and the red container in one swift motion.

After handing them over to the proper personnel and securing them in a containment locker, Page 10 of the SCP Encyclopedia appeared.

[O]

YES!

This was exactly what Loshu wanted!

Every time he reactivated SCP-3329's Persuasion ability, seeing the Rainbow Lollipop whittled down to less than half a grain of rice filled him with anxiety.

Persuasion was his most subtle and most frequently used ability.

If he could talk his way out of trouble, why bother with teleportation or vertical climbing? Even if caught on camera, it wouldn't raise suspicions.

The problem? He had no idea where Site-64 was, let alone how to get more lollipops.

But with Living LEGO's Proliferation ability, everything changed.

The moment he was out of sight, Loshu eagerly pulled out the tiny, carefully wrapped Rainbow Lollipop from his pocket.

Unfolding layer after layer of tissue paper, he revealed the ant-sized remnant of the candy.

He focused on it and activated Proliferation.

The lollipop swelled before his eyes, rapidly restoring itself to full size.

Success!

Loshu reluctantly glanced back at the containment locker holding the Living LEGOs, already scheming when he could use Proliferation again.

But then he noticed—the SCP Encyclopedia had another update!

Aside from the newly added Page 10, there was now a title page!

Flipping back, he saw bold text:

[Milestone: Containment Specialist]

[Tier: 1]

[Effects: 1. All activated abilities gain DOUBLE uses. 2. All activated abilities last TWICE as long and can be manually terminated.]

Loshu hurriedly flipped to Page 10—the Proliferation ability now showed [O: x1].

When he checked previous pages, other abilities displayed [O: x2].

He nearly laughed out loud.

This Containment Specialist Milestone was insanely powerful!

And he noticed—the milestone had tiers. Currently, it was only Tier 1.

Judging by the timing of its appearance, he guessed that successfully containing 10 SCPs had unlocked it.

So what if he contained more?

Would the milestone level up?

Loshu's eyes gleamed as he scanned Level-3's corridors.

Right now, he wished every SCP in Site-19 would breach containment.

Chaos Insurgency, please invade again!

On behalf of all D-Class personnel, you are WELCOME!

No longer wasting time, he sprinted through every hallway, searching for more escaped anomalies.

But luck wasn't on his side.

Site-19 had dozens of researchers, security, and containment specialists—Loshu wasn't the only one working.

The Chaos Insurgency's chaos had been suppressed, and personnel were already recontaining everything.

Every SCP had standard protocols—containment wasn't difficult if followed properly.

Loshu alone had secured three SCPs—others had done even more.

By now, order had been restored across Site-19. The remaining work was just repairs and cleanup.

Loshu had zero interest in that.

So he obediently returned to Level-1, waiting for further announcements.

As he calmed down, he studied the Encyclopedia's title page and realized something else.

First, each page was roughly A5-sized.

Normal entries included images, descriptions, and containment procedures, just like the SCP Wiki.

The only thing missing was experiment logs and tales—but that made sense.

Those were narrative fluff, not essential canon.

In this real SCP world, some of those stories didn't exist, so the Encyclopedia wouldn't include them.

But here's the thing—the title page was mostly blank.

Only three lines of text, with plenty of empty space below.

What did that mean?

It meant there were more milestones yet to be unlocked.

If just Tier 1 Containment Specialist brought such benefits, what about the others?

The thought was thrilling—but it also raised a question.

What were the other milestones?

How did he unlock them?

Loshu frowned.

This was going to take some experimentation.
