Chapter 138 - Collateral Damage

The night shift at Area-14 was usually quiet, save for the occasional snore, teeth-grinding, or sleep-talking in the barracks. But now, the skittering, crunching sounds of SCP-165 and SCP-940 tearing into each other were impossible to ignore.

Nu-7 ("Hammer Down") operatives, trained for high alertness, stirred awake. A few opened their doors to investigate—only to be swarmed by the frenzied anomalies.

Under the Bratty Aura, even "God's" control had broken. The operatives were engulfed in seconds, their screams cut short by paralyzing toxins. They knew their fate—eaten alive, painless but conscious.

Luo Shu winced internally. Sorry. Desperate times.

But the real culprit? "God." He unleashed these things.

Yet "God" watched coldly, unable to rein in the chaos.

From his perspective, Luo Shu was the instigator.

His eyes narrowed at Luo Shu's room. Each failed trap proved this D-class wasn't just lucky—he was dangerous.

That's why "God" lured him to Area-14.

And yet, he'd failed again.

Luo Shu, meanwhile, cursed. "God" resisted the Bratty Aura entirely.

Even the bugs ignored him, attacking Nu-7 instead.

Fine. I'll do it myself.

He teleported behind "God", activating Mental Domination—

But "God" vanished, sensing the spatial ripple like a flare in the dark.

A kilometer away, then farther. Gone.

The aftermath:

Nu-7 operatives: Reduced to bleached bones.

Anomalies: Only a few remained, the "last survivors" of their mutual slaughter.

From a distant room, the Nu-7 lieutenant shouted: "What's happening? Anyone alive?"

Luo Shu called back: "SCP-165 and 940 breached containment! Stay inside!"

Time for cleanup.

He snatched a lighter from a corpse, then:

Hacked the barracks' cameras (via SCP-100's machine animation).

Swept most sand out (erasing evidence of the epicenter).

Lit his room on fire (carefully soaking his bed with SCP-109's water first).

By the time MTF Epsilon-9 ("Fire Eaters") arrived, Luo Shu was "trapped" in the blaze", lounging on his damp mattress.

Their commander gave a thumbs-up: "Smart move, burning them out. Nine-Tailed Fox trains them right."

The Nu-7 lieutenant, however, looked ready to murder someone. His squad was dead, while this outsider survived unscathed.

No one would trace this to Luo Shu.
