Chapter 199 - Wolf Among Sheep

On the fifth night of his stay at the "Lord's Manor Resort," Luo Shu was ready.

All preparations complete—it was harvest time.

He strode confidently into Room 302, plucked the TV remote from the night-shift guard's grip, and input:

"Zhīma kāimén."

The hidden passage within the LCD screen swung open.

As he pressed the buttons, he noticed the remote felt heavier than the one in his room.

A smart TV remote was just a circuit board and two AA batteries—it shouldn't weigh this much.

Was this the real key?

Realization struck. He flipped open the Anomalous Item Compendium—a new page had appeared.

[Item #: SCP-CN-XXXX]

[Designation: Open Sesame Remote]

[Object Class: Safe]

[Description: A universal smart TV remote powered by two AA batteries. Prolonged use induces TV addiction—symptoms include compulsive channel-surfing and inability to look away, even during ads.]

[Special Containment Procedures: Assigned to Site-CN-02 guards for entrance access. Guard shifts limited to 3 hours to prevent addiction.]

[Anomalous Property: "Open Sesame." Upon first pairing with any TV, it designates the screen as a portal exit within 100m. Inputting "Open Sesame" within 5m of the TV opens the passage. Pressing "Return" closes it.]

[O]

Luo Shu nearly cheered.

With this, escape routes could be set up anywhere—just buy a few TVs at home, and he could teleport 100m on demand.

An incredible find before even entering Site-CN-02!

Of course, stealing it outright would be suicide—like swiping the front door key to a Foundation site.

Instead, he pulled SCP-105-B (Iris' Camera) from his Picture Passage and snapped a photo of Room 302.

Now he could recreate the entrance anytime.

With that settled, he stepped through the TV into Site-CN-02.

Glancing back at the ghost-loop corridor, he shrugged—no time to solve that now.

Dozens of anomalies awaited below.

Research Zone - B1

Past the security checkpoint, Luo Shu descended to B1: Research.

Rows of labs lined the floor—some dark, some still active.

As he passed one, his Anomaly Spotter Milestone flared.

An anomaly within 5m.

The lab was empty, lights off.

Why leave an anomaly unattended? Was the researcher begging for a demotion to D-class?

No matter—free loot.

Inside, on a workbench, lay a blue-covered book titled:

"The Scripture of Peace."

Luo Shu burst out laughing.

No wonder they'd left it out—this thing was useless.

But even junk could fill a page in the Compendium.

Two pages in minutes.

Luo Shu felt like a wolf let loose in a sheep pen.

But time was short—one hour total from two Unobservable activations.

He barely finished scouring Research before rushing to B2: Safe Containment.

With minutes left, he opened the first Unit near the stairs.

Inside sat a standard Foundation safe, housing a small red booklet—64mo size, fit for a pocket.

The cover read:

"Quotations from Chairman Mao" (1969 Edition).

Print run: 5 billion copies.

The second most printed book in history, after the Bible.
