As "White Eyes" had sensed, Loshu was now deep within Site-CN-02's underground containment sector.
Given his intelligence, Loshu knew that after today's events, the Foundation would send stronger forces after him.
That was precisely why he had to make the most of his remaining freedom—to raid Site-CN-02 and take everything he could before fleeing.
After leaving the guesthouse that evening, he'd traveled far to avoid Achilles' Heel.
To maximize his time tonight, he'd even used his precious Inverse-Distortion ability to depart his new hideout at 11 PM.
Thirty minutes later, he arrived at Site-CN-02.
At 11:30 PM, as his Inverse-Distortion expired, he seamlessly activated Unobservable Antimemetics, beginning his grand looting operation.
Interestingly, the TV portal hidden in his old hotel room was still intact, and the painting frame in the research sector's women's restroom remained undiscovered.
Passing through the portal, Loshu headed straight for the Euclid-Class containment zone on B3.
When he passed Anomaly-CN-1451's containment chamber, he hesitated but decided not to take the Game Activation Stone yet.
Doing so now would trigger alarms, alerting the entire site and ruining his plans.
Better to grab it on the way out.
Aside from the few Safe-Class anomalies he'd already dealt with, most of Site-CN-02's inventory was Euclid-Class, with a handful of Keter-Class.
Frankly, the Chinese branch's lax security baffled him—keeping Keter-Class anomalies near Beijing's suburbs was reckless.
Loshu decided to prioritize the Euclid-Class, saving the Keter-Class for later if time permitted.
After skipping the Game Activation Stone, his first target was Anomaly-CN-405—The Gospel.
This was a Church of the Broken God proselytization tool with strong mental influence.
But Loshu was unfazed.
Thanks to his Anomaly Bane milestone (10% resistance) and his heightened mental fortitude from battling The Mask, the so-called "Gospel" was useless against him.
A quick neutralization-containment procedure later, the anomaly was added to the Anomaly Catalog as Page 65.
Its ability—a watered-down version of Prester John's charisma—was unimpressive, so Loshu ignored it.
Next was Anomaly-CN-698—The Argus, the project overseen by the "Eyeless Singers" MTF he'd encountered on his third day at the hotel.
Anomaly-CN-698 was a flock of intelligent albatrosses capable of human-level communication.
Loshu's specialty.
A quick chat later, they became his Anomaly-Friends.
Their ability?
[Ability: Speak with the Dead. Talk to ghosts—if you can find any. Maybe visit Anomaly-087 for a chat.]
Loshu had no interest in ghost-talk. He preferred manipulating the living.
The Euclid-Class Bio-Anomaly Sector held three more oddities:
Anomaly-CN-891—"Wow, You're Awesome Because You Just Swallowed a Gun-Gut Science Stomp-Bubble."
A glowing cnidarian shaped like a lightbulb.
Ability: Convert electricity into light.
No thanks, I'm not a lamp.
Anomaly-CN-1891—Memories of a Departed Mother.
A cnidarian shaped like chopsticks.
Ability: Weight loss.
I'm not fat. Pass.
Anomaly-CN-1333—The Limb.
A parasitic worm that replaces human limbs.
A weaker version of Anomaly-940 (Puppet Spiders).
Disgusting. But at least it's documented.
Five Euclid-Class anomalies, yet zero useful abilities.
No wonder the Chinese branch was a backwater in the Foundation.
The real treasures were all at primary sites or shipped to the New World.
What remained were the rejects.
If not for the Anomaly Catalog's page count, Loshu wouldn't have bothered.
Leaving the Bio-Anomaly Sector, he encountered one last anomaly on B3:
Anomaly-1713—a meme causing overly scientific, jargon-filled speech.
Harmless to Loshu—antimemetics trump memetics.
But it did add another entry to his Anomaly Bane milestone, bringing the total to four countered anomalies:
Anomaly-173 (The Sculpture).
Anomaly-126 (Invisible Friend).
The Stubborn 6.
Anomaly-1713.
Speaking of Anomaly-126, Loshu suddenly missed IR1901.
I wonder how he's doing…
