Chapter 248 - The Immortal Man

Why did Able detect Luoshu?

He'd already given the answer—instinct!

Instinct didn't follow logic, and that was precisely the bane of Unobservable State.

Sense the target, strike the target.

What could Luoshu say?

It was too late now. The spatial fissure was inches away—if he didn't dodge, he'd be shredded.

Luoshu teleported again, appearing behind Able.

At this moment, he realized:

Against anomalies like Able and Barbie, hesitation meant death.

No mercy. Only the strongest moves would work.

So he didn't hold back.

With a sharp twist, he wrenched Able's neck 180 degrees.

Able's head spun around—but he didn't even flinch.

Instead, he grinned.

"Fast. Interesting."

Luoshu's heart sank.

He'd known Able wouldn't die easily, but the casual dismissal stung.

Then—

Able vanished.

A hand clamped onto Luoshu's skull—

CRACK.

His own neck was snapped backward, mirroring his attack.

Able had moved at double human speed, appearing behind him in a blink.

But why mimic the move instead of using his sword?

Psychological warfare.

Able was proving:

"Killing you is child's play."

Luoshu, of course, didn't die—thanks to Hyperlaxity.

But the humiliation burned.

His strongest physical attack had failed.

Only mental assaults remained.

While Able's hand was still on him, Luoshu activated Mind Control—

Entering Able's mental world.

The Mindscape

Inside, Able's psyche towered like a colossus, looming over Luoshu.

Luoshu froze.

Able's mental strength surpassed the Mask's!

Wait—isn't this guy supposed to be a muscle-brained idiot?!

Author's note: Low EQ ≠ weak willpower.

A "dragon-proud-sky" archetype thrives on unshakable confidence and arrogance.

Their spirit is always at its peak.

Did you really think you could break that?

Able's voice boomed:

"A mental attack? You insult me."

"Show me your true power—or die here."

True power?

If I had something stronger, don't you think I'd use it?!

Neck-snapping—useless.

Mind Control—useless.

What else was left?

Luoshu's core abilities—teleportation, unobservability, domination—had all been countered.

He was outmatched.

Able's disappointment was palpable.

"No more tricks? Then perish."

His mountain-sized foot descended toward Luoshu.

No dodging. No teleportation anchors in the mindscape.

Certain death.

Luoshu's one advantage? Intelligence.

If he couldn't evade—

He'd vanish.

Canceling Mind Control, he fled the mental realm.

Back to Reality

But escaping the mindscape didn't mean safety.

Able's physical hand was still crushing his throat, lifting him off the ground.

"Your people say: 'The monk can flee, but the temple remains.'"

"You escaped my mind. Can you escape my grip?"

Luoshu couldn't speak.

His upward-tilted head blocked his vision—no teleportation targets.

Nearby, Barbie's voice cut in:

"Able, what are you doing?"

To everyone else, Luoshu was still unobservable.

Only Able's instincts pinpointed him.

Ignoring Barbie, Able tightened his grip.

To him, Luoshu's real threat wasn't his known abilities—

But something deeper.

Something that made Able's blood sing with anticipation.

The Pandora's Box commander, however, pressed:

"Able! Report! What's in your hand?"

Grudgingly, Able answered:

"The dangerous one."

Barbie's eyes lit up.

"It's Luoshu! He's got some invisibility trick! Kill him, now!"

Able ignored her.

But Luoshu knew:

Once the commander spelled out the mission, Able would obey orders.

Sure enough, the commander handed Able a file.

"Mission target: D-20915 Luoshu, Foundation deserter. Acting commander: Omega-12-C-003 Barbie. Comply."

Able's fingers squeezed.

Luoshu's vision darkened.

Frantically, he flipped through the Anomaly Archive—

One last gamble...
