Kal watched Thor storm the S.H.I.E.L.D. base as rain and lightning started getting more and more heavy.
"Is it his doing?" Jane asked from next to the elf.
"Yep. And it's really impressive," Kal confirmed with a solemn expression as he looked at the skies. Affecting the weather on such a wide scale just by proximity to a weapon was not something even the elf could do casually. It likely meant that the upper limit of Thor's strength was much higher than his own, even if the elf was sure he was currently much, much stronger than Thor - even with Mjolnir. It was just that Thor had quite a few more bottlenecks to get through while Kal's strength gradually rose each day through continued training.
"And you're not helping?" Darcy asked from his other side.
"Why should I? It's his hammer. He can get it back if it's his," Kal shot back and continued in Thalassian, "I really do wonder if a Greater Blessing of Kings breaks the plot here or not. It would certainly make him faster in reaching the hammer."
"And why did you suddenly disappear earlier when S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived and took all my stuff? Back at the garage? I saw your bow in action yesterday. You could have killed them all and stopped them," Jane accused with a frown.
"You wish for my first interaction with human authorities to be killing their agents over simple... stuff?"
Jane paled in realization.
"No! But you could have threatened them or something! And it wasn't just stuff - it was my whole life they took from me!"
"They even took my iPod!" Darcy added indignantly.
By now, Kal was in his Kaldorei form, the ranger form, and he had summoned one of his pets that mysteriously appeared after using the skill Call Pet with the wooden whistle tucked in his belt.
A special Crested Owl he had caught in the woods outside of Darnassus when he was but a child. The wizened owl was his trusted companion through several battles, but Kal mostly used it for reconnaissance after it lost two claws on one of its talons in Ahn'Qiraj. Even with the help of restoration druids and elven holy priests, the claws didn't grow back.
He could use Eagle Eye to see for himself, but with Eyes of the Beast, Kal could see more. Even his own vastly superior eyesight compared to a human standard was no match for the eyes of a magical owl. With Eyes of the Beast, Kal was able to follow Thor's movements through the facility as the alarms started.
The fighting was entertaining, but a little lackluster since Thor was mortal until he got back the powers of Thor once he was worthy of Mjolnir. As an elite of Azeroth, their hand to hand combat inside the impromptu S.H.I.E.L.D. base looked like child's play recorded in slow motion. Even if their techniques were indeed pretty decent.
"Damn this rain, I should have brought an umbrella," Darcy cursed as Jane tried her best to calm her growing anxiety after the alarm inside the base started blaring.
Kal looked down and unhooked his cloak. With a few hand movements, the cloak unfurled, and he was able to throw it over the two women flanking him.
"Thanks," Jane mumbled as her eyes stared at the movement in the facility after Kal held her back from storming inside to get Thor out.
"Mmmh, smells nice," Darcy whispered mischievously.
"Keep it in your pants, Darcy. Isn't it enough that I couldn't sleep last night after you were screaming your throat out for hours? Who even does that? Are you horses or something?"
"It's his power! His penis is, like, magical or something. Just like that armor he wears," Darcy defended coyly, but Jane shoved her after reaching past Kal.
Several minutes later, Kal noticed that the commotion stopped and the rain started to die down.
Kal whispered in Thalassian, "Not worthy..."
Both women looked at him as they noticed the change in weather.
"What did you say?"
"Never mind that. Show is over. He isn't yet ready to wield his hammer. Time for you two to go home. I'll get Thor out, no worries," Kal explained and made both women stand up.
He ushered them back to Jane's car after activating Aspect of the Pack that allowed both women to walk faster without feeling a drain on their stamina.
As a Kaldorei, Kal'thal wasn't just a simple hunter. No, he was a multi-talented man nurtured by many long-lived geniuses. And he didn't live in a game. He wasn't limited to a single class and a single specialization.
His Sindorei-self used that to learn a few warrior skills but mostly focused on learning everything a retribution paladin and a holy paladin could learn from his master Lady Liadrin who even a century later had not managed to teach him everything she knew. The Blood Knights had been his home just as much as the Sunfury Spire, the residence of the leaders of the blood elves in Silvermoon City's Court of the Sun.
But his Kaldorei self vowed to become a jack of all trades since he already knew healing through the holy paladin training. He wanted to become an accomplished sentinel who could lead his people in any aspect.
As such, the druids of Darnassus taught him many nature spells, including restoration spells and even feral spells like the Cat Form that allowed Kal to turn into a midnight black panther with ethereal green linings in his fur.
Once he put the girls in their car, Kal slipped into the shadows using Shadowmeld and Prowl.

'Havoc? I never learned from Illidan's Demon Hunters... that's definitely new,' Kal thought as he traversed the shadows and entered the facility. 'Partial for that definitely makes sense. I never drank demon blood or gained power like Illidan did. So no Eye Beam for me...'
As he prowled through the facility, he eventually came across a lone Agent Coulson and shifted back into his elven form.
"Hey there Agent Coulson," Kal jovially greeted in a small voice and the agent immediately turned around with his gun drawn.
"Who are you?"
"Hey, we just met in Malibu! Don't tell me just because my hair's green during the night you don't recognise me?"
"Kal Dorei?" Coulson asked as he pretended to relax his stance.
"The very same. I healed Fury's eye."
"Why are you here?" Coulson asked as he actually relaxed because he recognised there was nothing he could do to the person in front of him. Not without causing a significant commotion anyway. And while he knew how unlikely it was for his gun to do damage to the 'elf', Coulson didn't know how much havoc he could wreak on his men. "And why are you wearing a different fantastical armor this time?"
"I'm here for my friend, of course. Thor Odinson? And this is just my armor for when I pretend to be Agent Barton but cooler."
The elf summoned his legendary bow with a smile and dismissed it shortly after.
"What can you tell me about him? This 'Thor Odinson'," Coulson asked as he ignored the quip against Hawkeye and the fact that once more, the elf in front of him knew more than he was comfortable with.
"That you should open a book on Norse Mythology because most of that stuff is very real. Same as our blonde friend. But his daddy's mad at him for being a brat, so he's mortal for the time being. Release him with Jane Foster's equipment or, at the very least, that notebook she had with her theories and observations. You'll thank me for it eventually," Kal proposed with a serene smile.
"What is our alternative?"
Kal looked Coulson up and down before asking, "Do you really want me to threaten you with the death of every single agent present here?"
"Release him or die. You don't sound very trustworthy, Mister Dorei," Coulson suggested with an even tone of voice.
"Well, we are still in the phase of building trust. So trust me this once when I say the very fabric of your world hinges on the fact that Thor will have to get his ass handed to him in the presence of Jane Foster tomorrow or the day after. I know it sounds dramatic, but I'm being... 90% serious. You will just keep him on your radar anyway. He won't get away from you until the hammer is his once more - so what do you really have to lose? Instead, you'll get a few answers," Kal explained with an enticing smile that Coulson thought looked like it was the devil's.
"How do you know the 'fabric of our world' depends on this?" Coulson pondered out loud after weighing the pros and cons.
"Respectfully, I can heal anyone that's fatally injured in a matter of seconds back to full health and form a horse construct out of my own personal energy. Is knowing that he is important to the fate of this reality so unbelievable?"
"That is a fair point," Coulson mumbled thoughtfully, recognising that he won't get a straight answer from the elf. "Okay, I will release this 'Thor Odinson' into your custody on one condition."
"Name it."
"You will heal one person on the brink of death for me when I ask for it," Coulson demanded with the same thoughtful look from before.
"Eh? Sure. Could have asked for a hundred or even a full day of my time to heal whoever you need healed, and I wouldn't have cared," Kal easily agreed with a carefree shrug. "You have my number because you already had Stark's from before, right?"
"We do," Coulson confirmed with a nod. His face didn't break but he was cursing his own lowball offer on that demand.
"Alright, bring Thor with whatever you can release from Foster's belongings to the gate where the owl sits," Kal ordered and disappeared from Coulson's eyes. "And, uh, I don't have any money yet and I don't wish to steal from the common populace. Could you find me some clothes a 6'9 man like me could wear and not stand out so much in a crowd? I prefer dark colors when I'm not acting as a prince. A hood and glasses would be nice to hide my eyes and ears. I'll pick 'em up tomorrow."

"And for being so cooperative; no, I didn't teleport. It's invisibility," Kal whispered as he passed Coulson to take a look at Mjolnir.
But before he entered the crater fully, Kal stopped. Loki was currently trying to move Mjolnir but failed miserably.
When the invisible Loki, who he was able to see because his eyesight was different from a regular human's, left, Kal walked forward and held his hand over the handle of Mjolnir.
The weather didn't change, he didn't feel a connection to the hammer... but his hand was being gently electrocuted by Mjolnir which drew the attention of the agents and scientists present.
Kal withdrew, his questions answered.
Time to pick up a god of thunder.
