Chapter 24 - Chapter 24:Two Years of Peace

Chapter 24: Two Years of Peace

After some time,Alex and Wanda had found peace again. There were no battles, no superhuman conflicts, and no threats looming over their heads. After the chaos of the Civil War, Alex had decided that he would no longer work—not because he was lazy, but because he no longer needed to.

Tony Stark had casually lent him $100 million, a gesture that Alex had initially refused. But Tony, being Tony, waved it off like it was pocket change. "Just take it, kid. Consider it a startup fund for whatever weird thing you decide to do next," he had said with a smirk.

And so, Alex stopped working as a construction worker. Instead, he spent most of his time visiting Wanda at the bookstore where she worked.

Mornings in Their Home

Every morning, Alex woke up to the sight of Wanda sleeping beside him, her red hair sprawled over the pillow, her breathing soft and steady. To him, she was the most beautiful woman in the world, even more so now that he could admire her without the interruptions of war and chaos.

But, of course, he had his habits. And one of them was leaving kiss marks all over Wanda's body every morning.

"Alex!" Wanda groaned as she sat up, pulling the blanket around her. She checked her arms, her collarbone, even her stomach—all covered in faint red marks.

Alex, lying beside her with a smug grin, simply shrugged. "I can't help it, wife. You're irresistible."

Wanda glared at him, but the slight blush on her cheeks betrayed her true feelings. "I have to go to work! What if someone sees these?"

"Then they'll know you're taken," Alex said, pulling her back into his arms and placing another kiss on her neck.

Wanda sighed, pretending to be annoyed. "You're impossible."

At the Bookstore

Despite being a powerful superhuman, Wanda had chosen to work at a small bookstore in their snowy town. She loved books, and she loved the quiet atmosphere. Plus, it gave her something normal to do.

Alex often visited her during the day, sitting in a cozy chair with a book in hand, watching her as she helped customers. She looked truly happy, and that made him happy.

One afternoon, as Wanda was stacking books, she noticed Alex staring at her.

"Do you need something?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," Alex said with a smirk. "A kiss."

Wanda rolled her eyes but leaned down to give him a quick peck on the lips. "Happy now?"

Alex grinned. "Very."

Two Years of Happiness

Two years passed like this—peaceful, simple, and full of love.

Wanda and Alex spent their days together, sometimes exploring new places, sometimes just cuddling at home.

Alex occasionally trained his abilities, but without the need to fight, he rarely pushed himself.

They built a stronger relationship, learning more about each other, understanding each other's past and dreams for the future.

Wanda would often scold Alex for his mischievous behavior, but she secretly loved how affectionate he was.

For Alex, this was the life he had always wanted.

But deep down, he knew it wouldn't last forever.

A New Storm Approaches

One evening, as Alex stood outside watching the snowfall, he felt a strange sense of unease.

Something was coming.

Something big.

And it wouldn't be long before their peaceful days were shattered once again.
