Year 2017
In the summer season, as ordinary as ever, a sudden pouring rain with light thunder is rampaging in the dark clouds of a small remote area, which is a very unusual phenomenon.
The wide field full of sprouting grains is slowly overflowing with the drops of rain. The trees are swaying with it and even the huge and old tree's branches are slowly waving with each stroke of the harsh wind.
It's a good thing there has never been a natural disaster that ever occurred in this small town; well, we can thank the trees surrounding it.
Trees are bigger in number than the people living here; it is safe to say it is thrice the population of the town and this place is called The Greenery.
Houses in the area are few. You can only see one every seven to ten minutes. But even though there is distance, the town is still as warm and lively, maybe because of the close relationship of the citizens living here.
So close that everyone knows each other's businesses, particularly the Montefalco's house; they are the talk of the town as of the moment.
In their humble home, which is the third-to-last house that is located in the farthest part of the town, it is as loud as ever; the family is always hosting a party for everyone, whether it be a simple gathering for their youngest's passing junior high after two years of repeating it, their dog's seventh birthing, their second daughter's first suspension from school, and, as of now, a celebration for their eldest daughter, who has been admitted to one of the most privileged universities in the city.
"Mother! Can you please lower the volume of that dang speaker? And mind you, it's past eleven now; if you can kindly stop doing that karaoke, it will be much appreciated."
The eldest daughter came out of her room in her messy bun hair and loose white shirt that matched with checkered pajamas that were unevenly rolled and a pair of black and white socks. She looks so messy and probably stinking.
Lindsay Montefalco let out a deep sigh upon seeing her daughter's appearance and rude tone. Her eldest has always been a pain in her neck, unlike the two other daughters she has. Who at the moment is singing with their other guests while enjoying a cold iced beer?!
"Don't be rude and greet our guests now." Her mother demanded in a warning tone and bulging eyes.
"I am getting ready for my finals," she says before slamming her door and leaving her mother surprised and a bit embarrassed, but, after a few seconds, her door opens again and she says, "And mind you, Mother, those two fools are still minors; you know that and you're letting them get drunk. Also, stop celebrating anything! For Pete's sake, I am a sophomore now; you have been celebrating it for a year!" Another echoing slam from her door made the entire room quiet.
After making a scene, Julia locked her door and put her headset on max volume while listening to her favorite singer, Taylor Swift.
Not giving a care about the chaos she made outside her door or the pouring rain.
Despite the heavy winds that are blowing in a glass window of a small room, the young woman seems not to really care what's happening. Still buried with her stack of books. Doing an equation that she doesn't really understand at all. Nodding from a tutorial video she's watching, she's trying to mimic it.
A sudden notification from her laptop rang inside the four corners of her room.
Someone sent a wave to her on Facebook, and as busy as she is, she didn't give it any attention at all.
After pretending that she understood the equation, she decided to have a quick break. She pushed the books, paper, and pen to the edge of her table and stretched her right arm. She then rested her face on it and checked her phone in a side position while enjoying her music. "I drive on different roads, but it all leads back to you~," she sings while checking her messenger, a message from a boy from her university but a different department.
"Vincent Lunther... who's this pussycat?"
Curious and a bit excited, she stalked his Facebook account and replied to the message with a smile on her face.
"Hi :)"
"I thought you'd never reply back. I'm glad you did :)."
"Of course I will. What are you doing anyways?"
"Just thinking about you ;)"
"Hahaha!"
She just talked to him for 30 seconds but she felt she knew him for 30 years now. Their conversation goes on for hours. Talking about anything and clearly making moves for each other.
Little did she know she'd be trapped in a non-stop loop of the same tragic fate.
A forbidden love.
She crossed something she shouldn't have, opening a box that should have stayed closed for eternity and meeting the man that has the same invisible string tied to their wrist.
And just like that, the same fate happened again in her 113th life.
The wheels started to spin again and their world is now merging, shaping it to the written story of how tragic and painful it will be.
It's heartbreaking that she questions the creator of what she has done; if she just knew who she was from her past lives, would she ever do it again?
"We're done." A short two-word sentence ended Julia Montefalco's two-year relationship. And without looking back at all, Vincent moved on in his life, leaving her there, drowning in her own tears.
His life goes on, while she remains trapped in their past, haunted by his broken promises and their love that is still engraved in her memory, thinking about the life they could have had together.
He fall first but she falls harder.
He changed her in the worst possible way, and she changed him to a version she never liked.
A version she doesn't know exists.
A version where she is not the love of his life.
"Please stop it!" In her blurry eyes and wet cheeks, she screamed, woke up from her dreams and immediately sat up from her bed, confused and a bit overwhelmed. Julia wiped her tears while sniffing, trying to recall what the dream was about.
"Why on earth am I crying?" she mumbled, trying to catch her breath in between her sobs.
Little did she know the unknown forces already warned her about the tragedy she's about to experience and the sin she'll be committing again and again.
