Chapter 110 - Phase One: Breakdown

Tyler's POV

Time didn't pass here.

It bled.

I couldn't tell if it had been two days or two weeks. The light above me never went off. The food came randomly, slid through a tiny slot in the door. Sometimes it was warm. Mostly it wasn't.

I tried not to sleep too much. I couldn't afford to lose track of time. But my body? My body had other plans. Sleep came hard and fast like a punch and left me even more disoriented every time I woke up.

And the silence.

God, the silence could kill.

No footsteps. No voices. Just my own breath echoing off cold concrete. I tried singing once. Whispered a song Azazel used to hum. Made it halfway through before my throat closed up and I collapsed onto the floor, shaking.

I had no mirror, but I could feel the weight in my eyes.

Guilt doesn't age you.

It rotted you.
