" That's a joke, right Mr Frederick?" Attorney Frederick asked her husband but he released her and walked to sit on his chair before responding back to her.
"Am damn serious this time Mrs Frederick_ here take this" he said giving her some documents which she took and read through it.
"I don't want to stop working at the law firm honey please don't do this, I'll take any other punishment but this" she said
"It's not a punishment dearest_ I've been thinking about it for a while now and I've had series of meetings with the directors regarding the companies new attorney, I don't think anyone can handle that position better than you. Listen I didn't do this because you're my wife but because you're good at what you do moreover, the directors don't know we're couples" he told her.
" Am sure they do now; not after our royal wedding at N. That's not an issue but I still can't quite working at the firm". She said not willing.
" Don't do this babe, you have to let go_ do you think you won't be paid; you'll be paid more than what you're paid at the firm just like the previous attorney" Mr chairman tried to coax her but she still refused.
"Am sorry I can't" she told him but she didn't expect his next words.
" You can't or you won't?. It's obvious you don't want to, sometimes I feel you're just being impossible. You have only but two weeks to work at the firm attorney Frederick and that's final". He told her not happy with her.
" Or else what Mr chairman?". She asked in a little harsh voice which didn't sit well with Mr chairman. He walked up to her caressing her chin before saying
"I won't repeat myself attorney Frederick and you shouldn't be stubborn about it" he said looking her in the eyes.
" I don't want to work_" she was saying
"I will not do this with you Mrs Vida Frederick" he said and left the study slamming the door.
Two days after the couples misunderstanding Victor Lin Frederick was so engrossed with work but, he made sure to return home early even though he got work he'll go home it.
And today wasn't an exception but he got a call from his friend James asking him to come over.
"Hey bro, what's with the face?" Mr chairman asked when he arrived at his friends place.
"Am good, care for a drink?" James asked gesturing him to the mini bar.
"Sure" he replied
" Did you invite me over just for a drink?.
"No just needed someone for distraction" James told him but Mr chairman can see through him
"Distraction from what exactly_ your parents or the company?" Mr chairman asked hitting the nail on its head.
"My parents are good but it's the company" James told him
"What about it" his questions made James to look away and Mr chairman sensed something.
"Did you invest in that business I warned you about?"
