Rosh visits the government City Hall, which is run by the Earth Kingdom. He steps in the main office where he notices Jonetta, the secretary. Jonetta has light green eyes, brown wrapped hair, a small nose, and a petite frame.
Rosh leans against her desk, "I'm looking for some government assignments."
Jonetta: "Aren't you employed by the Fire Nation?"
Rosh: "Don't you have mercenary work?"
Jonetta: "Yes, we do. I'll put you in contact with Yonic-Bow. The man in charge of our contacting assignments." Yonic has curly cedar brown hair, thick eyebrows, a thick nose, and green almond-shaped eyes.
Yonic: "Rosh, we would love to work with you, but we'll need permission from your embassy since you are not an independent agent. Turn in this Permission to Serve form and we will take you."
Rosh heads to the Fire Nation embassy. The building is just a third the size of the Earth Kingdom City Hall. While the City Hall was about three stories, the Fire Nation embassy is only one level: making it a flat structure.
He notices the Fire Nation secretary, Suzina. Suzina has short black hair, dark yellow eyes, and a pointy nose. Rosh: "I want permission to do contract work with the Earth Kingdom."
Suzina: "Interesting, I'll tell Outsourcing Captain Iuho." Rosh sits in Iuho's office. He has a heavy brown leather couch and animal horns planted on the back wall.
Rosh looks, "Wasn't animal hunting banned in Ural?"
Iuho sits in a light grey desk across him, "It was, but that doesn't mean I didn't hunt before that happened." Iuho is a large man with an extended stomach. He has rich black hair, a full beard, and dark gold eyes.
Iuho laughs, "Why would you want to do that? You could accept an assignment with us on behalf of the embassy."
Rosh responds, "I want to do Fire Nation work, but I'd also like to assist the Earth Kingdom to make sure the streets of Ural are safe."
Iuho: "And you on some type of moral quest?"
Rosh: "Maybe, I haven't put that kind of thought into it. I just feel called to do this."
Iuho: "Oh here we go with this type of talk."
Rosh grins, "I'm serious. I want to fully serve the city which means I need to work with both sides."
Iuho throws his hands up, "Fine! It will be done then but know this, your loyalty will lie ultimately with the Fire Nation. Our requests trump anything else if the two conflict since you are a Fire Nation soldier."
Rosh agrees, "Deal." The seasoned captain meets with his team at a bookstore. Lika drinks tea and reads a book about gardening. Holku reads about a garbage collector who became a vigilante. Rosh simply snacks on nuts since he isn't that into books.
Rosh shares his news. Lika: "Wait, two out of three people in our team are from the Earth Kingdom but because you're the leader, we mainly work for the Fire Nation."
Rosh exhales, "Yes, but we are about 60/40 for both countries."
Holku: "Really? That's quite the ratio."
Rosh: "Just give it a try. We're meant to be different; it is our destiny. I have a very GOOD feeling about this."
Lika sighs, "We will see Rosh, this is a messy plan."
Holku: "So what's our first assignment?"
Rosh: "I, don't have an update yet."
Holku: "Why am I not surprised?"
Rosh raises his index finger, "Good things take time." The following afternoon, several people eat and mingle at a bar. Masicus steps into the facility. He has long brown hair, a full beard, yellow-green eyes, and is buff with golden yellow skin.
Masicus presses his hands together and glares at the store owner who trembles in fear as he immediately recognizes him. His teammate Jiana steps up. She has gold eyes, olive skin, and a dark brown ponytail.
Jiana has light shoes and sand-colored robes with copper brown markings. Teyo emerges beside her. Teyo has a brown samurai hat, a dark green cape, and light blue armor. He has dark brown curly hair and a mustache.
Jiana yells, "Get down everyone! This is a hold up!!"
Masicus barks, "Get the currency out nice and easy and no one will be harmed!" Two bouncers in beige outfits rush in with batons. Jiana squishes a whipblade and impales the man on the left.
Teyo pulls his bow and bolts an arrow in the other guard's sternum. Blood slides across the floor while the trio walk out with heavy money bags. The getaway driver Sovak rolls up in a hippo-fox carriage with one beast hauling the vehicle.
Sovak is bald, slim, has grey eyes, dark brown skin, and has a scar that goes across his left eye that is concealed by an eye patch. Masicus: "Let's go!" Sovak cracks his riding whip and the animal storms off.
Mall Bust
It is a bright day in Ural, scores of people enjoy themselves at the Center Shopping Plaza. Toward the edge of the plaza, at one of the quitter corners, there is a jewelry shop.
A woman purchases a pair of earrings from a female worker. She steps away and Masicus's crew arrives (with Teyo and Jiana). Masicus announces, "What a wonderful day! I want all your FINEST JEWELS."
Female worker: "Security!" A man in a black robes swoops down and slashes at Masicus's head with a dual bladed rapier. The criminal hears the man and kneels under the cut. He has short black hair, dark brown eyes, pale skin, and a lumbering stature.
Masicus: "Proto! The world-renowned duelist. I didn't know you took work as a meagerly security agent. You should be ashamed."
Proto: "So says the criminal who cannot work honestly and chooses to steal instead. You cannot build so you live to take away from others."
Masicus: "Exactly, Jiana take his life." The female fighter whips her cutter at Proto's left wrist, but he rotates his double cutlass knocking the weapon back. Proto hops and closes the distance with the gang leader before lunging his weapon at Masicus. The earthbender summons an earth barrier without moving his muscles.
The sword pokes through the barrier but barely misses the man's nose. Masicus: "Impressive!" The earthbender propels pieces of the barrier back at the duelist at a sensational speed. Proto yanks his weapon back in his grasp before oscillating it nearly as swift as sound.
Proto chops rock after rock as he maintains his stance. Teyo fires an arrow at him and Proto flips behind the arrow and lands beside the female customer service greeter. Proto looks at his companion, "There are too many, get out of here." The woman runs.
Masicus threatens, "I've had enough of this." The bender pulls his arms in, and multiple objects fly at Proto from every direction. The duelist swings left and knocks some of the objects away. Proto turns his body right and ducks as he flees: avoiding more incoming objects. The fighter escapes.
Masicus tightens his right fist, "Let him go. Jiana, Teyo, get what you can get."
Rosh interrupts, "Not so fast!" Masicus and his team turn around. They notice Rosh, Lika, and Holku.
Masicus grins, "Is this Macai's sidekick."
Rosh: "I was his second in command, his right-hand man, not a sidekick!"
Jiana: "That sounds the same to me. What do you think Teyo." Teyo shakes his head.
Rosh: "Who asked you, honestly?"
Masicus: "Let's settle this then. Fate has made us cross paths, these fights were meant to happen."
Holku: "Never in a thousand years did I expect I'd be doing this."
Teyo: "Get used to it kid, you're on the danger stage now." Jiana diagonally hurls her carver at Lika who rolls under it and springs at Jiana with a left superman punch. Jiana tumbles past the hit and knees Lika in her gut.
Lika slaps a backhand punch at Jiana who is hit by it but rolls away to minimize damage. Jiana pops her right hand down as she flings her whip blade at Lika. The young earthbender raises her arms and generates two wrist guards.
The blade chips Lika's right guard. Lika flips behind Jiana and pounds a right kick in Jiana's left thigh. Jiana's leg pops and she crumbles backward. Teyo shoots an arrow at Holku who knocks it back with a sword.
Teyo launches another arrow at Holku but again he parries and bats an arrow. Teyo fires a third time, but Holku raises his sword and knocks the arrow into the ceiling.
Teyo spins back and aims again. Meanwhile Masicus thumps his left arm straightforward and hurls an earth sphere at Rosh. The firebender jumps back and pushes a spout of fire into the sphere, obliterating it.
Masicus stampedes after the Fire Nation champion and he swings two long earth chains at Rosh's legs. Rosh jumps over the chains and right kicks at the brute's head. Masicus crosses his arms and blocks the hit.
Masicus smiles, "Ahhh, I have not had a fight like this in a long time. I've been itching for some good action in this boring town." Masicus moves in after Rosh and swoops in with an overhand left punch.
Rosh ducks under the hit and checks Masicus with a swift fiery left hook. Rosh follows up with a right straight to the body but Masicus stomps and Rosh punches a barrier by mistake.
Rosh hears a crack as he accidentally hurts himself. Rosh steps back, "errrreeh!" Masicus laughs and pulls his left arm back before bowling it forward. An earth cube swoops down at his back, but Rosh flips forward and punches Masicus square in his face with a left straight.
Masicus clamps his hands, and two objects fly at Rosh from both sides. Rosh steps back and the objects hit each other. Rosh kicks a fireball at Masicus but he hops left then hurls the two objects from the floor back into Rosh.
Rosh falls over but shoves them out of his way as he rises again. The earthbender raises his hands and shoots part of the ground at Rosh from every direction. Rosh opens his mouth and spews flames into the rocks.
Rosh: "I'm getting REALLY SICK of this." Masicus uses bending to zoom himself forward with a swift left punch. Rosh sways his body left then pounds Masicus with a right face kick.
Masicus is soundly knocked out. Teyo pings another arrow at Holku which he ducks under. The teen runs at the archer and diagonally swings down and left at him. Teyo retrieves a yellow sword and thwarts the attack.
Teyo: "Few archers are also master sword users, but I am one of those exceptions." Teyo lashes at Holku's left shoulder. The fighter raises his weapon left as he blocks and horizontally cuts at the man's neck.
Teyo ducks but his hat is knocked off his head. Holku points his sword at Teyo, "It's not too late to surrender."
Teyo knocks Holku's sword back and attempts to flee but runs straight into Lika's earthwall. Sovak peeks in the room and sees his team has been defeated. He tries to run but Rosh drops down and kicks him in his chest.
Sovak rolls backward in the dirt. Rosh: "Sorry, but your crime is at an end." Rosh feet cuffs Sovak then cuffs his hands. Rosh celebrates with his team that evening.
Rosh: "We earned that victory."
Lika: "That was a bit too easy."
Holku: "Well, I didn't get to finish my fight."
Lika: "You held up, so you did your job. The only thing that matters is if we complete our mission."
Rosh: "And we did just that, we completed our mission in the most extraordinary fashion."
Lika: "Well don't you have a way with words."
Rosh shrugs, "I guess so."
Holku: "Well captain, I don't feel you are any surer of our direction than we are."
Rosh: "Sometimes that's a good thing. Who wants to overthink things anyways. Macai was good for that, but it causes stress. We'll be just fine, I just know it."
Holku: "And how exactly do you know that?"
Rosh: "Just trust me bro."
Holku: "It worked for one mission, but short term hopes and long-term success are two different things."
Rosh: "You remind me a bit of Cai, that's what his girlfriend called him. He never liked me saying that."
Lika: "But you'll say it when he isn't around. You know Rosh, that isn't very heroic."
Rosh: "I'm no hero but I am a man of the people."
Holku: "I haven't figured you out just yet."
Rosh: "Neither have I, trust me, it's ok."
Lika: "Cheers to not figuring everything out."
Rosh: "Cheers."
Holku: "I will NOT cheer to that."
Rosh: "There's always a party pooper."
Holku: "Cheers to party pooper."
Lika: "Cheers."
Rosh: "NO, what Lika, you're just agreeing with everything."
Lika: "So you want me to disagree with everything."
Rosh: "Well, no, not exactly."
Hulko: "Let's just salute each other to a good night."
Rosh: "Fine, I guess."
Lika: "Sure."
