Alex Brysu knew how to disappear.
Not like that but he didn't have powers or anything. But in a crowded school hallway, in a classroom full of noise, even in the orphanage where he had lived his whole life, he had a knack for blending in. He wasn't the loudest, the smartest, or the most athletic. He was just… there. And that was fine.
Most days. The morning started like any other. The city was waking up around him—car horns, the distant rumble of a subway, the chatter of early commuters. He adjusted the strap of his backpack and pulled his hoodie tighter against the morning chill as he crossed the street toward casseside misstle high.
The school standing tall, with old bricks, a building with a history no one cared about. Inside, the usual chaos unfolded—friends catching up, couples arguing, someone half-heartedly copying last night's homework.
Alex stepped through the doors and went straight to his locker. No detours, no unnecessary conversations, not like he had friends in the school or a very big circle.
"Alex!" He sighed as he close his locker before turning around.
Leo, his closest thing to a best friend was grinning at him, shoving his way through the crowd. Unlike Alex, Leo had a presence. He was taller, louder, and never seemed to shut up, he seemed to be the life of the party or rather he is just that extroverted kid
"You didn't wait for me," Leo said, slamming a hand against the locker next to his.
"You were late," Alex replied, punching in his locker details, making sure it is locked
"i kind of woke up late."
"Yeah I figured out" ,
Leo leaned in conspiratorially. "Did you hear about the new girl?"
Alex putting his books in his backpack as he wonders what all this fuse is all about "We get new students all the time."
"Yeah, but this one's seems different." Leo wiggled his eyebrows. "She's quiet, Kinda intense, Sits by herself and doesn't talk to anyone."
"that's how new students are Leo," Alex said deadpanned.
Leo rolled his eyes "yeah I know but this one is just something ?"
Not really. But Alex knew from experience that Leo wasn't going to drop it, so he just sighed and let him ramble as they made their way to class.
He wasn't that interested in school gossip as it is always about luxuries at he can't afford as a poor person and as an orphan
Yet He had no idea how much his world was about to change.
