They ran to Inspector Rehan's office.
He didn't look surprised.
"I had a feeling this wasn't over," he muttered.
Areeba slammed the phone on his desk. "A girl in green is going to disappear tonight. We have to stop it."
Rehan sighed. "We don't even know who she is."
Zoya shook her head. "We don't have time for this! If we wait—"
A knock on the door interrupted them.
A young constable entered, his face pale. "Sir, we found something."
They followed him to the police station's evidence room.
He handed Rehan a file.
It was old, the pages yellowing. The name on the front made Areeba's blood turn cold.
Mehreen Farooq.
Zoya snatched the file.
She flipped it open—then gasped.
There was a photo.
Mehreen. Young, beautiful. Wearing a green dress.
Sana whispered, "She was the first… and now another girl in green is next."
Rehan's jaw tightened. "Then we stop it."
He grabbed his gun.
"Tonight, we go to the alley."
