Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Beyond the Summon

"Sayo! Sayo!!" Emily exclaimed, running towards Sayo Ishida, who was about to leave the school gates. "Where have you been? I've been searching for you everywhere since morning," she said.

"Emily, I told you to stop looking for me, to stop following me around," Sayo replied in an angry and annoyed tone, with a hint of mockery. "What do you think? Do you think that by following me, my response to you will change? We may be siblings because of my father, but I will never see you as one of the Ishidas. You will forever be the daughter of a mistress who only wanted money." Sayo turned towards a stunning black Rolls-Royce parked in the corner, where a tall man in a suit waited to receive him.

Suddenly, Sayo's expression changed. "What's happening? What are these glowing lights from below? Wait, where are my legs? AHHHHHHHHH! Emily, save me, save me!" Sayo cried out as he began to fade away, with the magic circle glowing brighter. Emily and the man in black rushed towards him.

When Sayo opened his eyes again, he found himself in a different place. "Where am I? What's happening to my head? I feel a severe headache, and what's this gibberish I'm hearing in the background? Can you just SHUT UP!" he screamed, experiencing intense pain in his head. Immediately, all sounds seemed to disappear, and he let out a sigh of relief. "Finally."

"Sayo Ishida, my chosen hero," a beautiful voice said, accompanied by a seductive figure appearing in front of him. Sayo was mesmerized by the beauty before him and proposed to her without hesitation. It was as if his sense of reasoning had disappeared with the appearance of the goddess, the Goddess of Light Aria.

She smiled and giggled gently. "Thank you, hero. But if you can help me with what I want, I'll surely consider your proposal." Sayo smiled, blushing slightly. "I'm ready. I'll do anything."

"Anything?" Aria asked.

"Yes, anything," Sayo replied.

"Okay then, I want you to help kill the Demon Lord, who has plagued my people, causing wives to become widows and children to become orphans. He has caused the destruction of many kingdoms and the death of many kings for 200 years. I beg of you, my hero, Sato Ishida, please save my people from the hands of this evil Demon," she said, tears falling from her eyes, giving a sight of pity and admiration for her people.

"Since you can't face the Demon Lord the way you are now, I will give you some powers that will help in your battle against him." She stood up, walking towards a board showing different skills ranging from magic to swordsmanship to marksmanship and many more. Sato's face glowed with joy as he had only seen this happening in novels and anime. He never could have thought that it would be happening to him, and again, he was the main character, the one who would vanquish the ruthless Demon Lord and his followers to their demise.

Even though he was only able to pick five skills, to him, it was like he had chosen them all.

After a while of long consideration, he finally chose the five skills, which were:

- Advanced Fire Magic – an active magic that made his magic casting time three times shorter and the damage two times higher for every fire magic.

- High Self-Recovery – which was able to help him regrow limbs, even if they were cut off, as long as he didn't die immediately. He could keep recovering.

- Master of the Sword Art – which was a skill that made him master all sword skills 10 times faster and four times stronger than the original.

- Acceleration – which was able to increase his speed at an incredible rate.

- Infinite Mana – which made his mana capacity infinite. This was the most powerful skill to ever exist, as the only problem for a sword master or a mage was mana capacity.

With all these skills equipped, he was as good as indestructible. Feeling good about himself, Sato said to the goddess, "With all these skills, it looks like I'll be coming for your hand in marriage sooner than expected. Thankfully, all those years of reading manga and watching anime can finally pay off."

But the goddess immediately warned him not to underestimate the Demon Lord, as he had caused the demise of many other heroes.

Immediately, a light started to glow as Sato began to fade away. This time, he was being sent to the fantasy world where his adventures would begin.

In the castle of the Eldrida Empire, which was mainly affected by the Demon Lord's advancement as they shared boundaries with the Abyss, where the demons originated from, voices echoed through the castle walls with signs of recklessness. "The summoning ritual was successful! Finally, our empire has a hero. Quick, tell the king about it!"

A boy, still in his high school uniform, found himself in a room filled with different people, ranging from mages to priests. He seemed to have appeared on a magic circle drawn by the priest, a summoning circle.

"Where am I again? This seems like the place where main characters are usually summoned, right?" Different thoughts clouded his mind again.

"Welcome, hero, welcome to the Eldrida Empire," said a gorgeous lady wearing a white robe. Her beauty was little compared to the goddess, but she was the second most beautiful person he had ever seen.

The king immediately arrived, with different people paying their respects. He was a well-built man who seemed to have a lot of experience on the battlefield. At least, he wasn't just a king by name. He was a tall, green-eyed man with brown hair and an imposing atmosphere. It was as if he was too impatient to see the newly summoned hero.

"Welcome, hero, to my empire. You have been chosen by the Goddess of Light Aria to help us save our land from the hands of Demon Lord Zarel, who has caused long suffering to everyone. If you can help us with this, riches, women, and power will be at your feet, with little to no things to worry about, as your needs will always be met." One could sense the desperation in his voice.

"Bring the magic ball," the king said, looking towards one of the priests. Immediately, a round ball, which seemed to be like an enlarged clear marble, was brought towards Sato, who was standing beside the king.

"Hero, please keep your hands on this ball," the king said, looking towards Sato. He complied, and immediately, a bright light glowed, which seemed to show that he possessed great potential, due to their reactions, ranging from mesmerized to shocked. But from the looks of things, Sato had a full adventure prepared for him in his growth and journey to the Abyss.
