He then lifted her from the ground, having her legs wrap around his waist. The maid waiting by the door fell back and bowed down her head the more as the King carried her into his room, closing the door behind him. She waited a few minutes, looking confused, before returning with the blankets.
He carried her in his arms across the room, scolding every little move she made to be let down. The soft and gentle feel of the mattress on her back did nothing to make her feel any less restless. He pushed her back down on the bed when she was quick to get off from it. Holding her down to the bed, he said with a soft and pleased smile, "Relax, my queen, I am not doing anything naughty with you yet."
