(3rd Person POV)
Hal started to use his Power Ring. He might only have 24 hours of juice from the Guardians, but they didn't know that he had some to spare just for such a case. Hal starts to use his willpower to get everything ready. To achieve what he had planned, he would have to do three things at once, and this was not just any small thing, like juggling three balls or even chainsaws. No, he had to do something painful, something incredible and something that was considered impossible.
Hal was going to use the remaining energy of his will to operate on himself and change his genetic structure and biology to both receive the Strontian powers, add them to his own and close his genetic structure off against manipulation and cloning. As he is doing that, he will use the energy which still remains in his ring to connect to Ion himself. Ion is the Entity of Will, the sentient willpower that powers the Green Lantern Corps. Currently, it resides within the Central Power Battery and is utilised by the Guardians to contain Parallax. Parallax is the Entity of Fear and represents the colour yellow in the Emotional Spectrum. What Hal is planning is not just to connect to Ion, but to connect to the Green Emotional Spectrum of Will itself and align his own will with it, thereby using it as fuel for creating his own Power Ring from his own Willpower.
So, Hal would undergo the surgery, endure the pain, and then forge his personal Power Ring from his own willpower, all at roughly the same time. This was necessary because he wanted to truly align his willpower with his improved body, he will have.
But how was Hal going to accomplish all this? How will he forge his own ring?
The Renegade Guardian Krona first harnessed Willpower billions of years ago on Maltus. Krona saw the power of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum while the rest of the Guardians discarded their feelings. The result was Krona's Gauntlet - the first battery and ring that harnessed the green light of willpower for offensive capabilities. The Gauntlet draws power directly from the Willpower Entity Ion and is said to have the power of at least a dozen Green Lantern rings, but without any of their safeguards, making it an unstable weapon. Long-term use resulted in Jordan phasing out of reality and becoming one with Willpower, which was the moment he forged his own Power Ring. This was a way the current version of Hal could go about it, but he had other plans, he had other ideas and was a different existence altogether.
.
Everything was set. Hal was lying on one operating table, totally nacked and the Strontian on the second one. Hundreds of different medical and technological devices were scattered throughout the room, and mechanical arms lowered themselves, ready to begin the surgery. But not only that, a massive anvil was also created, ready for Hal when he passed the correct stage of his change. He could feel ripples emanating from the surroundings, coming from him. His will was bubbling, as if it had a mind of its own, unable to finally be let free and stretch. Naturally, it was Hal's will, and the entire Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum could feel it - the colour Green ... Will could feel a change coming. But it wasn't just the colour green; all the others were eager to see what would happen. And one in particular.
Then it started. Hal had to be awake for the entire process as he was the one who was operating and directing everything. Scalpels started to cut him up, all over his body, various devices connected to his nerves and lasers lowered themselves. It looked like a horror movie with hundreds of torture devices. Hal felt the pain; it was unlike anything he had ever felt before, but he held on. He wouldn't stop. He would never stop. The constructs connected to Hal's DNA and unspun his chromosomes. A ribosome made of green energy started to go through the entire genetic code, eliminating all mistakes as quickly as possible. Then a second one arrived, cutting the DNA strands in the specific locations Hal had calculated. Then a third one came, filling the gaps with better bases Hal had created from the Strontian genetics. He would remain human, but he would be endowed with Strontian powers and have all his genetic flaws corrected. A complete makeover, in other words.
The process went on for hours, and Hal knew that he would be cutting it close. Soon his current ring would leave and return to Oa. he had to at least reach the most crucial step by then, and he could feel that it would take a while longer. He had studied medicine, but doing surgery on himself was still different. Throughout the entire process, Hal focused on something other than the surgery itself. He was constantly flooding his entire system, each and every cell, with his willpower. He had to 'jumpstart' the Strontian powers in his body this way, and by flooding his continually changing and improving DNA strands with the power of will, he could do that.
After hours, the genetic makeover was complete, and now the second part started. Usually, a creature begins as a zygote and then develops through cell division, growing in the process, but Hal didn't have that privilege. He had to complete all of this as soon as possible, so he had to accelerate the process of adapting to his new genetic information. Once more, he used his willpower to stimulate his metabolism and cell division. His cells began to divide; the new, beautiful, and powerful strands of his DNA divided, creating new cells as Hal forced his old ones to self-destruct. He could feel himself dying, being destroyed, each of his trillions of cells and new ones taking their place. His body was one thing, but to experience his brain and eyes to die and appear again was very unpleasant. The effects were impressive, though.
Hal's muscles grew, increasing in power and efficiency. The speed of his nervous system shot through the roof; he could feel how his joints adjusted and changed. The way he produced energy was turned on its head. No longer would he create as much, if any, fatigue toxins as he did before. His tissue grew tougher and more resilient, making him capable, at the very least, of surviving in space, going toe-to-toe with the strongest fighters and resisting extreme temperatures. But that wasn't all. Hal felt gravitons and how he affected them; this would allow him to fly and defy gravity. His eyes changed drastically as well. They became that much better, allowing him to see small objects and images beyond the subatomic level. Finally, he felt capable of counteracting telepathic assaults and probes, all thanks to his new biology. No being could influence his mind anyway, thanks to his Essence, but this was a nice bonus.
Hal removed all Strontian weaknesses. Strontians are vulnerable to specific wavelengths of radiation, such as those emitted from a Negabomb. The Strontian race also all share a vulnerability to magic, which Hal removed entirely. He could feel his willpower flow through him and how his body reacted to it.
With this done, he was finally ready for the most crucial and final step. To forge his own Power Ring.
.
Hal uses the final remaining energy inside his Power Ring to connect to the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum of Will. And finally, his will is let free.
*WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
Like an emotional storm of universal, or multiversal ... or even higher proportions, Hal's willpower makes its presence known. Not to announce himself, but those who can feel the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum feel a suppression suddenly. Especially those who use Green. Hal focuses on not letting his will get out of control. In this moment, he is thought, he is expression, a construct ... Will personified. Will of limitless proportions and no end. He focuses and creates a green stone, made of his own will; he pours it all into that small stone, everything about himself, all that he is and represents, in a stone about as large as his hand.
He places the stone on the anvil and creates a powerful hammer. As powerful as he can, as this will take all his willpower to do.

*KRZZZAK*
He brings the hammer down.
*KKRRZZAKK*
He can't have this failing. He will succeed; he just knows he will. There is no doubt, no fear, nothing in his mind except his will to get through with this. As Hal slams his hammer down, over and over again, the tremors are felt by all those connected to the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.
The Green Lantern Corps
*BOOOOOM*
The Guardians
*KRAKOOM*
And even Lanterns across other Universe. All over the multiverse, they can feel it.
*KKRAKOOOM*
Hal doesn't stop, but something strange occurs as he gives his limitless will shape. The colour seems to change ever so slightly. No longer just green, there are slivers of another colour, which accumulate slowly.
Green is the color in the center of the spectrum and represents the emotion of will. This color has the least influence on the wielder and can only be controlled by one who possesses an indomitable will that can overcome great fear. The fact that it is located at the centre of the Emotional Spectrum is unique in Hal's case. Ever since he started out as a Green Lantern, he felt that there was something special, and indeed, there was. He was in posession of a Meta Essence, the Essence of the Sound Mind and Soul, and as a Green Lantern, but not just as a Green Lantern, also as a normal human in the DC Universe - It was invaluable. Nothing can make him falter, and he will never lose his sense of self, regardless of any event. As he started out as a Green Lantern, he always conveyed a sense of success, and no matter what obstacle he faced —although he hadn't yet encountered any true danger— he always felt the utmost confidence in his willpower and knew he would succeed. This had a unique effect on those around him whom he helped. This effect was felt in Gotham the most ... hope.
Blue!
Blue is a color close to the center and represents the emotion of hope. The blue light is capable of being wielded by a being who can bring hope for the future to others when they have lost all of theirs. Blue light is the most powerful wave of the spectrum, but it is also the most difficult to wield and understand and requires the green light of willpower to work fully.
*KKRAKOOOM*
Hal suddenly feels something arrive. Something or someone of tremendous power has just appeared and wishes ... to enter. Hal understands the situation and allows it to happen.
"Welcome ... Adara."
Adara, the embodiment of hope, has just found Hal Jordan. Hal continues to hammer his willpower, and the slow change continues. Adara fills Hal with hope, which flows into his entire body and the ring, slowly but surely, mixing with his willpower. Something like this has never been seen before, and although White Lantern exist in other Universes, this is not the same. Adara has understood that through the way Hal acted and the way he was incorruptible and unchanging, he was unwittingly spreading hope to everything and everyone around him. This effect was small up to this point, but Adara knew the potential for hope when it saw it. And Hal had the greatest anyone ever had, in any existence or reality. Simply stemming from the fact that he has infinite willpower and will never betray his own morals and values.
The monstrous amounts of energy flowed through Hal as Adara assisted him in his forging process, fueled by the power of hope.
Time was forgotten; the reality around him was ignored. Only the process he was going through existed, and it wasn't just his Power Ring that was changing; his very being and body were changing as well.
...
..
.
*WHOOOOOOOOOSHH*
It was done ... the process was finished. Someone or something new was standing there. Hal had succeeded and had grown into something new, something better. No longer just green, but now mixed with the colour blue, the colour of hope which had fused with his green and created: cyan.
